AI and software for construction claims and delay analysis in 2026: schedule, contract and notice evidence

ROUNDUP · PUBLISHED · UPDATED · SOURCES CHECKED OCT 15, 2026

A delay claim rests on two kinds of evidence: what the schedule shows and what the contract says. No vendor in our directory sells an AI claims analyst. Several sell tools that produce parts of that evidence. We re-read five vendors' pages on Oct 14 and 15, 2026. Desk research, not tested, and not legal advice.

DESK RESEARCH, NOT TESTED. Figures come from the sources listed below. Vendor and company statements are claims and are not verified by Means & Methods Lab.

Schedule evidence: delay and windows analysis

SmartPM connects to existing CPM scheduling software and lists schedule quality checks, progress against baselines, delay and compression metrics, and windows analysis; a customer quote on its site says windows analysis went from weeks to minutes or hours (customer claim). SmartPM does not describe the product as AI.

nPlan says its models are trained on 750,000+ historical schedules and offers activity-level uncertainty forecasts and flags for risky activities, with sectors including highways, rail and heavy infrastructure. ALICE describes simulating many scenarios to optimize, de-risk and recover schedules, and imports P6 and Microsoft Project files.

Contract evidence: clauses and notices

Document Crunch's CrunchAI reviews contracts and surfaces risk such as flow-down clauses, with citations, and its Project Assist covers notices, RFIs and submittals. Provision's Risk Review flags risky clauses and commercial exposure with citations and severity levels; its pricing starts at $100 per project for Risk Review.

What these tools do not claim

This is our reading, not a vendor claim: none of the five pages we read says its output is a forensic schedule analysis or expert report, or has been accepted in arbitration or litigation. Treat these tools as faster ways to organize evidence that a scheduling expert and counsel still evaluate.

Pricing

SmartPM publishes annual plans with unlimited users: Essentials at $12K per year for up to 50 projects, and Controls at $25K per year. Provision prices per project: Chat Agent from $50, Risk Review from $100, Scope Agent from $500. ALICE quotes by project size and scope. Document Crunch offers a free trial. nPlan shows no public pricing.

What to ask before a pilot

These are our suggestions, not findings. Run a closed project with a known delay outcome and compare the tool's windows or critical-path findings to the expert report. Ask how schedule-update history and data dates are preserved, and whether every contract flag cites a clause you can open.
