INDEPENDENT · VENDOR-NEUTRAL · WHOLE CONSTRUCTION LIFECYCLE
AI in construction technology, documented before it's tested.
Means & Methods Lab (formerly PreconBench) is an independent lab covering AI across construction technology: design and engineering, preconstruction, project management and field, safety, equipment, robotics, materials, finance, sustainability, workforce, and facilities/operations. Our first planned benchmark runs AI takeoff, drawing-review, and contract-review tools on the same public NJDOT and municipal bid packages, scored against a verified answer key. Until testing starts, every page is sourced desk research with links to the vendor.

HOW WE'LL TEST (3 STEPS)
- 01
Same public bid set for every tool (linked to source, never rehosted). - 02
Verified answer key built by an independent estimator. - 03
Scored runs: error %, missed items, minutes to human correction. Vendors get a right of reply.
Disclosure: rankings and placement are never for sale. See how we make money.
