HCSS Telematics

HCSS's software-and-hardware equipment tracking product, which HCSS calls a GPS solution geared toward the heavy civil industry: one map view of a mixed fleet, hand-drawn geofences matched to job sites with entry/exit reports, alerts (harsh driving, excessive idling, theft), and fleet data pulled from the machine ECU. HCSS OEM Link brings in manufacturer telematics (the page names John Deere, Cat, Volvo and Komatsu) into the same web portal. Hardware: plug-in units for over-the-road vehicles, wired units for yellow iron, AAA-battery satellite trackers for non-powered assets, ELD units HCSS says are ELD-compliant, and a plug-and-play dash camera "with a built-in AI processor to detect risky driving and forward collisions" (the only AI described on the page). Telematics data feeds other HCSS products: Equipment360 (maintenance: meter readings into PM cycles, fuel level, location), FuelerPlus, HCSS Dispatcher (equipment not where it is scheduled) and HeavyJob (pull GPS engine hours onto the timecard). Page figures: 4,000+ contractors, 58,000 connected assets and 4.3 million harsh driving events captured in 2024, and $150,000 saved in rentals by the average HeavyJob & Telematics user (vendor claims, not verified); customer quotes from Haines & Kibblehouse (OEM telematics, cycle-time reports for trucking on milling/paving and dirt jobs) and Park Construction are vendor-published.
