B2W Estimate vs AGTEK

Two heavy civil precon tools that often sit side by side rather than compete: B2W Estimate builds the priced bid from cost data, crews and pay items, while AGTEK measures the dirt, materials and pipe quantities that feed it. Not like-for-like (our reading). Desk research from vendor pages read Oct 25, 2026; not tested, no winner.

In short: B2W Estimate (Trimble) (Heavy civil estimating; no public prices (quote / sales)) vs AGTEK (Earthwork takeoff; no public prices (quote / sales)). Facts last checked Oct 25, 2026. No winner declared; not tested.

What it doesHeavy construction estimating and bidding software in Trimble's B2W suite, with cost data and links to e-bidding and DOT programs. It offers centralized cost data, a pre-populated cost database with templates and pay items, export to ERP/accounting and project management systems, and connections to electronic bidding and DOT programs. Part of Trimble's B2W suite (estimating, operations, equipment maintenance). Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: the product page still lists centralized cost data, RFQ send and quote analysis, export to ERP/accounting and project management, and electronic bidding and DOT connections; calls to action remain Contact sales / Request a demo. Re-checked Oct 20, 2026: the product page still lists the centralized cost database with crew and pay item templates, RFQ management with quote analysis and split RFQ groups, and ERP integration, and also describes pay item and WBS bidding, automated error checking for calculation errors and missing line items, state-specific DOT electronic bidding system (EBS) file downloads, change orders managed within the base estimate, and mobile estimating that works offline and syncs later. Still no AI described for B2W Estimate. Re-checked Oct 21, 2026: the product page is unchanged in substance (centralized cost database with crew and pay item templates, flexible bidding options, RFQ management, automated DOT bidding, change order management, synchronized mobile estimating, export to ERP/accounting and project management, and moving estimates to B2W Schedule and B2W Track to set targets from production actuals). Still no AI described for B2W Estimate. The page's 98% average costing accuracy, 2X bid volume and 45% change-order figures and its customer quotes are vendor claims not used here. Re-checked Oct 22, 2026: unchanged; the pages read describe no AI features. Percentage and multiplier claims on the pages are vendor claims not used here. Re-checked Oct 23, 2026: product page unchanged in substance (centralized cost data, RFQ management, ERP integration and automated DOT bidding). Vendor percentage figures on the page are vendor content and not used. Re-checked Oct 24, 2026: product page unchanged in substance (centralized cost data, RFQ management, ERP integration and automated DOT bidding); the pages read describe no AI features. Vendor percentage figures are not used. Re-checked Oct 25, 2026 (also read for a compare): product page unchanged in substance (pre-populated cost database with crew and pay item templates, pay item and WBS bidding, RFQ management, automated DOT bidding via state EBS files, change orders in the base estimate, offline mobile estimating; Excel import and ERP export); the pages read still describe no AI features. Vendor percentage figures and customer quotes are not used.Estimating and takeoff software for heavy construction: dirt and material quantities, utility estimates, process modeling and progress measurement. Part of Hexagon. Lists AI-related products including Reveal Transform (AI-powered plan prep that converts PDF plan sheets to takeoff-ready data) and Reveal Clean (AI-assisted point cloud editing). Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: the homepage and products pages still feature Reveal Transform (AI plan prep from PDF sheets) and Reveal Clean (AI-assisted point cloud editing); Underground remains listed for storm, sewer, water and other utility estimates with Gradework. Re-checked Oct 21, 2026: the homepage still leads its news with Reveal Transform (AI-powered plan prep that converts PDF plan sheets into takeoff-ready data) and the products page still lists Underground (storm, sewer, water and other utility estimates, working with Gradework) and Reveal (AI that classifies and removes unnecessary elements from point cloud data), plus the DJI Matrice 4E drone for site mapping in AGTEK workflows. Re-checked Oct 22, 2026: the site menu now lists Reveal Maps (photogrammetry with AI) alongside Reveal Clean and Reveal Transform, and the products page lists Highway (imports DOT survey and design files, partitions the 3D job for traffic-control phasing, interactive mass diagram, borrow, spoil and haul) and Trackwork; SmartTrack and the Matrice 4E drone package are still listed. Re-checked Oct 23, 2026: homepage and products page unchanged in substance (Reveal Transform AI plan prep, Reveal Clean AI-assisted point cloud editing and Underground utility estimating still listed). Re-checked Oct 24, 2026: homepage and products page unchanged in substance (Gradework, Materials, Underground and Highway for takeoff; Reveal Transform AI plan prep, Reveal Clean and Reveal Maps; Trackwork and SmartTrack for production; Matrice 4E drone). Pricing (as publicly stated)No public prices found (checked Oct 16, 2026; unchanged Oct 19 and Oct 20, 2026): the B2W Estimate page has no pricing link (the only "pricing" link found is for Trimble's Dimensions event registration), and /pricing under the B2W product path shows a not-found page. Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • What each does: B2W Estimate (Trimble) lists a pre-populated cost database with crew and pay item templates, pay item and WBS bidding, RFQ management with quote analysis and split RFQ groups, automated DOT bidding through state electronic bidding system (EBS) files, change orders inside the base estimate and offline mobile estimating that syncs later. AGTEK (part of Hexagon) lists takeoff products for earthwork (Gradework), construction materials (Materials), utilities (Underground) and highway work (Highway, with traffic-control phasing and mass diagrams).
  • Where they meet: B2W says it imports Excel tables and connects with electronic bidding and DOT programs, and moves estimates to B2W Schedule and B2W Track. AGTEK's products feed takeoff quantities and 3D models onward, including machine control modeling and field progress tracking (Trackwork, SmartTrack). Neither page we read names a direct link between the two, so ask each vendor how quantities move into the estimate.
  • AI: B2W Estimate's page describes automated error checking but no AI, so it stays Not AI-first. AGTEK lists Reveal Transform (AI-powered plan prep that converts PDF plan sheets to takeoff-ready data), Reveal Clean (AI-assisted point cloud editing) and Reveal Maps (photogrammetry with AI).
  • Beyond precon: B2W sells a suite (Schedule, Track, Employee App, Maintain, Field View) and export to ERP and accounting systems. AGTEK sells mobile and hardware tools (SmartPlan, SmartDirt, SmartTrack, a Matrice 4E drone package) and runs training classes online and in Livermore and Atlanta.
  • Pricing: neither publishes dollar figures. B2W Estimate shows Basic, Professional and Enterprise plans, each marked Talk to us. AGTEK has no pricing page; contact the vendor.
  • Not used here: B2W's accuracy, bid-volume and change-order efficiency percentages, customer quotes and logos (vendor claims).

What users say

The facts above come from vendor websites. Whether either tool is any good for your work is something only people who use them can say. These are member reviews, all ratings shown, never edited or removed for being negative.

Used either of these? Share your take

Good or bad, an honest review from an estimator, PM or super helps the next team more than another vendor demo. You post under a handle; your email is never shown.

Questions to ask in your review

  • How AGTEK quantities get into a B2W estimate on a real bid (import, re-keying or a third-party bridge)
  • Time to a complete earthwork-heavy bid with each tool alone versus together
  • What you actually pay, and on what basis (neither publishes full prices)
  • What did you use it for, on what kind of work and project size?
  • How long did setup and training take, and who on your team did it?
  • What does it cost you in practice, compared with what the sales call said?
