PLOT vs Krane
Two procurement-log and delivery tools for general contractors that both tie materials to submittals and the schedule, built on different approaches. PLOT combines a logistics map, delivery booking under GC-set rules and a schedule-synced procurement log, with no AI described and a free Logistics module (Deliveries and Lead Times priced by contract value). Krane describes itself as AI-native, with six named AI collaborators that build procurement and submittal logs from specs and drawings, chase trade partners for lead times and schedule deliveries; no public prices. Desk research from vendor pages read Oct 28, 2026; not tested, no winner.
In short: PLOT (Deliveries & procurement logistics; free option; paid prices not listed) vs Krane (AI procurement & material management; no public prices (quote / sales)). Facts last checked Oct 28, 2026. No winner declared; not tested.

| What it does | Construction logistics software that combines a logistics map, delivery booking and a schedule-synced procurement log for GCs and trades. It offers a logistics map that replaces logistics plan PDFs (GeoTIFF upload from drone or satellite imagery when default imagery is out of date), delivery booking under GC-set rules with reservations of gates, docks, cranes and lifts to prevent double-bookings, and a procurement log (Lead Times) that syncs with the CPM schedule and links materials to submittal status. Trade partners can book from a link in the logistics map PDF, a QR code on the trailer TV or an emailed material order. Vendor says a logistics map takes about 15 minutes to set up, with 30-minute training for the rest (read Oct 17, 2026). Vendor claims inefficient logistics can raise project costs by up to 15% and coordination can reduce site congestion by 30% (vendor claims, not verified). Re-read Oct 18, 2026: the Logistics page adds PDF exports linked to a live jobsite profile that stakeholders open without a login, a TV Mode with weather, upcoming deliveries, active orders and QR codes for onboarding, and integrations that import trade contractors and users from Autodesk Forma and Procore and take GeoTIFF site backgrounds from DroneDeploy, Propeller or Skyfi satellite imagery; the Deliveries page adds offloading windows, locations and zones and a Procore Daily Log integration for delivery arrival and departure times. The pages do not describe AI. Re-read Oct 19, 2026: unchanged in substance (same integrations: Autodesk Forma and Procore user imports, DroneDeploy and Propeller GeoTIFFs, Skyfi imagery, Procore Daily Log); the Logistics page cites a Walsh case study saving up to seven hours a week on coordination (vendor claim, not verified). The pages still do not describe AI. Re-checked Oct 21, 2026: homepage unchanged in substance (logistics, deliveries and procurement or lead times modules); the pages still do not describe AI. Read again Oct 21, 2026 for a compare: the procurement (Lead Times) page describes many-to-many links between submittals, materials, orders and installation activities, CPM schedule import, automated email check-ins to trade partners, a detailed change log and a mobile app, and lists Autodesk Forma Submittals and Admin imports and Procore Admin, Submittals and Schedule connections (schedule activities become Required on Jobsite dates that update automatically). It still does not describe AI. Re-checked Oct 23, 2026: homepage unchanged in substance; the site still does not describe AI features, so the Not AI-first label stays. ROI and customer figures on the page are not used. Re-checked Oct 24, 2026: site unchanged in substance (Logistics, Deliveries and Lead Times; no AI features described). | AI-native procurement and materials platform (Krane Procurement OS) that the vendor says flags procurement risks before they hit the schedule. It describes six AI "collaborators" that, for example, read specs to find materials, score suppliers and screen bids; turn specs and drawings into a procurement log and identify critical-path materials; build a submittal log for review; follow up with trade partners by call, email or text for missing lead times; and schedule deliveries to avoid dock conflicts. Products named: Material Management, Auto Log (material lists and submittals from drawings and specs) and Delivery (vendor claims up to 30% fewer site disruptions and material delays). Site has a data centers section. Vendor cites $17B+ in active projects among its customers (vendor claim). Re-read Oct 17, 2026: unchanged (same six AI collaborators, Procurement OS, Material Management, Auto Log and Delivery). Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: unchanged in substance. The homepage names the six collaborators: Theo (marked new; Procurement OS: reads specs, finds materials, scores suppliers, screens bids, flags risk), Milo (procurement log and critical-path materials from specs and drawings), Lana (submittal log and document QC), Chase (follows up with trade partners by call, email or text for lead times and flags log risks), Arlo (ties install activities to submittals and materials) and Rio (delivery scheduling, dock conflicts, late-arrival follow-up). Case studies posted Jan 2026 cover Juneau Construction student housing and the UCSF Helen Diller Hospital project (vendor-published). Re-checked Oct 21, 2026: homepage unchanged in substance (the six-agent Krane Crew, with Theo and Krane Procurement OS marked new, plus Material Management, Auto Log and Delivery); its active-project dollar figure and delay-reduction percentage are vendor claims and not used. Re-read Oct 22, 2026: the homepage lists six AI collaborators: Theo (marked new, Procurement OS: reads specs, finds materials, scores suppliers, screens bids and flags risk), Milo (procurement log and critical-path materials from specs and drawings), Lana (submittal log and document QC), Chase (follows up by call, email or text for lead times), Arlo (links activities, submittals and materials) and Rio (delivery scheduling, dock conflicts and late arrivals). Re-checked Oct 26, 2026: homepage unchanged in substance (six-agent Krane Crew with Theo marked new; Procurement OS extracts critical-path materials from specs, surfaces lead times from live project data and flags supplier and compliance risks; Arlo ties install activities to submittals and materials; Material Management; Auto Log; Delivery; a Data Centers menu entry). The $17B+ and up-to-30% figures are vendor claims and not used. |

Where the vendor descriptions differ
- Procurement log: PLOT's Procurement page describes a live log that replaces spreadsheets, with many-to-many links between submittals, materials and installation activities, CPM schedule import, automated email check-ins that prompt trade partners for status, and a detailed change log. Krane's homepage describes Milo turning specs and drawings into a procurement log and identifying critical-path materials, Arlo tying install activities to submittals and materials, and Material Management working backward from install dates to set milestones and flag risks.
- How the log gets built: on PLOT's pages the team builds the log by importing the CPM schedule and Procore or Autodesk Forma submittals, then breaking submittals into materials and orders. Krane says its AI reads uploaded drawings and specs to create material lists, submittal logs (Lana, with document QC) and the procurement log, then hands them back for review; Auto Log is the named product for this.
- Trade follow-up: PLOT sends configured automated email check-ins to trade partners. Krane describes Chase following up with trade partners by call, email or text to collect missing lead times and flagging risks in the log.
- Deliveries and site logistics: PLOT's Deliveries page lists delivery dates and times, offloading locations, gates and zones, screening of trade requests against GC-set availability to prevent double-booking of gates, docks, cranes and lifts, and a Procore Daily Log integration for arrival and departure times; its free Logistics module adds a jobsite map, PDF exports linked to a live jobsite profile, and a TV Mode. Krane describes Rio scheduling deliveries, preventing dock conflicts and following up on late arrivals, and a Krane Delivery board.
- Integrations and scope: PLOT lists Procore (Admin, Submittals, Schedule, Daily Log) and Autodesk Forma (Admin, Submittals) imports and GeoTIFF backgrounds from DroneDeploy and Propeller plus Skyfi imagery. Krane's homepage says it integrates with construction platforms and accounting systems without naming them in the page text we read, and describes Krane Procurement OS for owners and subcontractors (supplier scoring, bid screening, supplier and compliance risk flags) and a Data Centers section.
- AI: PLOT is tagged Not AI-first; its pages do not describe AI features. Krane is tagged AI-first; the six collaborators (Theo, Milo, Lana, Chase, Arlo, Rio) are its description of AI agents.
- Pricing (checked Oct 28, 2026): PLOT lists Logistics as free to use, alone or bundled; Deliveries and Lead Times are custom pricing based on contract value, and a Delivery & Lead Times bundle is priced on contract value with a discount; no dollar figures. Krane publishes no prices; krane.tech/pricing redirects to a Schedule Demo form. See each tool page for detail.
- Mostly like-for-like on the procurement log and delivery scheduling; the difference is a log the team builds from schedule and submittal imports plus a free logistics map on one side, versus AI agents that draft the logs from specs and drawings and chase trades by phone, email or text on the other.
- Not used here: PLOT's ROI, adoption, hours-saved and cost or congestion percentages, case-study figures and customer quotes, and Krane's active-project dollar figure, delay-reduction percentage and customer quote (vendor material). Neither tool has been tested by Means & Methods Lab.
