| AI role (our label) | AI features added to established product | AI features added to established product |
| What it does | Subcontractor and trade-package procurement software for main contractors: procurement schedule, scope-of-works library, tenders and price breakdowns, compare-and-recommend vendor selection, contracts with eSignature, vendor management, lessons learnt and analytics. AI modules listed are BidLevel (AI bid leveling that reads supplier quotes in PDF or Excel, builds a breakdown, and pulls out pricing, inclusions and exclusions with each value traceable to the source PDF; vendor says in as fast as 3 minutes), AI Pricing Library (AI search across historical quotes and trade packages for rate benchmarks), AI Pulse (procurement assistant) and AI Estimating Handover. BidLevel's FAQ says it is a first-pass tool that requires human judgement and that customer data is not used to train public AI models. Integrations listed include Procore, Aconex, DocuSign, Microsoft Entra, Power BI, Viewpoint Jobpac and Cheops. Vendor says it is trusted by contractors on $100+ billion in projects (vendor claim). | Construction material management software branded Field Materials AI: quote management (send a bill of materials or field requisition as an RFQ, AI matches vendor quote PDFs to RFQ line items, AI bid leveling that recommends options on price and lead time, then buyouts or POs from selected quote lines), purchase orders, delivery records (upload delivery slips and AI matches them to POs), AP automation with AI invoice scanning and 3-way validation, inventory, prefabrication and expense management, and a pricing-intelligence module whose AI agents read material prices from quotes, invoices and receipts and track them over time by vendor, project and cost code. Lists integrations with Procore, CMiC, Foundation, Sage 100/300 CRE/Intacct, Deltek ComputerEase, Viewpoint Vista and Spectrum, QuickBooks and Stratus. Vendor claims savings of 5-10% in material costs and 90% less PO and AP invoice processing time (vendor claims, not verified). |
| Who it's for | Main contractors' procurement, commercial and precon teams (site lists Australian and UK supply terms). BidLevel can also be used by non-ProcurePro users. | Trade contractors and self-performing GCs (pages list mechanical, electrical, framing/drywall, civil, concrete, insulation/firestopping and masonry). Free for material vendors to use. |
| Pricing (as publicly stated) | Not publicly listed. ProcurePro pricing page says licences are tailored to usage and include all features, unlimited projects and unlimited users, with pricing on request. BidLevel's FAQ says it is free to try with no email or credit card required. (Checked Oct 15, 2026.) | Not publicly listed. Vendor says it is free for vendors; contractors pay a subscription that depends on organization size and procurement volume, quoted after a demo. (Checked Oct 15, 2026.) |

Where the vendor descriptions differ
- What gets procured: ProcurePro centers on subcontractor procurement (procurement schedule, scopes of work, tenders, contracts and eSignature, vendor management). Field Materials centers on material and equipment purchasing (RFQs from a bill of materials, POs, delivery records, AP invoices, inventory).
- Quote reading: ProcurePro's BidLevel reads supplier quotes in PDF or Excel and extracts pricing, inclusions and exclusions with each value traceable to the PDF. Field Materials matches vendor quote PDFs to RFQ line items and levels bids on price and lead time, with pre-trained agents for quote types such as switchgear and HVAC equipment.
- Price history: ProcurePro's AI Pricing Library searches historical quotes and trade packages for rate benchmarks. Field Materials' pricing intelligence tracks material unit prices over time by vendor, project and cost code.
- Buyers: ProcurePro targets main contractors (with Australian and UK supply terms). Field Materials lists trade contractors and self-performing GCs across mechanical, electrical, civil, concrete and other trades.
- Pricing: neither lists dollar prices. ProcurePro licences are tailored to usage with unlimited projects and users; BidLevel is free to try. Field Materials is free for vendors and quoted for contractors.

What we can't tell you yet
Which tool is better for your work. That needs testing on the same package with a verified answer key. Planned measures for this comparison:
- Exclusion and scope-gap capture rate on a real multi-bidder package
- Effort to correct extracted line items before award
- Outside Means & Methods Lab's current benchmark scope.
