PLOT vs LeadTime

Two tools that replace a general contractor's procurement spreadsheet with a live log tied to the CPM schedule. PLOT's Lead Times module sits next to a free logistics map and a delivery-booking module, with named Procore and Autodesk Forma imports for submittals, schedule activities and trade contacts. LeadTime is a stand-alone procurement, supply chain and delivery tracker that builds the log from existing PM-software data and collects sub and supplier updates automatically. Neither describes AI. Vendor pages read Oct 21, 2026; desk research, not tested, no winner.

What it doesConstruction logistics software that combines a logistics map, delivery booking and a schedule-synced procurement log for GCs and trades. It offers a logistics map that replaces logistics plan PDFs (GeoTIFF upload from drone or satellite imagery when default imagery is out of date), delivery booking under GC-set rules with reservations of gates, docks, cranes and lifts to prevent double-bookings, and a procurement log (Lead Times) that syncs with the CPM schedule and links materials to submittal status. Trade partners can book from a link in the logistics map PDF, a QR code on the trailer TV or an emailed material order. Vendor says a logistics map takes about 15 minutes to set up, with 30-minute training for the rest (read Oct 17, 2026). Vendor claims inefficient logistics can raise project costs by up to 15% and coordination can reduce site congestion by 30% (vendor claims, not verified). Re-read Oct 18, 2026: the Logistics page adds PDF exports linked to a live jobsite profile that stakeholders open without a login, a TV Mode with weather, upcoming deliveries, active orders and QR codes for onboarding, and integrations that import trade contractors and users from Autodesk Forma and Procore and take GeoTIFF site backgrounds from DroneDeploy, Propeller or Skyfi satellite imagery; the Deliveries page adds offloading windows, locations and zones and a Procore Daily Log integration for delivery arrival and departure times. The pages do not describe AI. Re-read Oct 19, 2026: unchanged in substance (same integrations: Autodesk Forma and Procore user imports, DroneDeploy and Propeller GeoTIFFs, Skyfi imagery, Procore Daily Log); the Logistics page cites a Walsh case study saving up to seven hours a week on coordination (vendor claim, not verified). The pages still do not describe AI. Re-checked Oct 21, 2026: homepage unchanged in substance (logistics, deliveries and procurement or lead times modules); the pages still do not describe AI. Read again Oct 21, 2026 for a compare: the procurement (Lead Times) page describes many-to-many links between submittals, materials, orders and installation activities, CPM schedule import, automated email check-ins to trade partners, a detailed change log and a mobile app, and lists Autodesk Forma Submittals and Admin imports and Procore Admin, Submittals and Schedule connections (schedule activities become Required on Jobsite dates that update automatically). It still does not describe AI.Supply chain, procurement and delivery tracking for construction projects, replacing manual procurement spreadsheets. Listed features: generate the procurement log automatically from existing PM-software data, link CPM project schedules and stay in sync with schedule changes, real-time tracking of every item, automatic collection of status updates from subs and suppliers, and a real-time dashboard and mobile app for the field, office and trades. The homepage (rendered in a browser Oct 16, 2026) does not describe AI features, so we tag it Not AI-first. A customer quote from MW Builders is vendor-published. Re-rendered Oct 17, 2026: unchanged; the homepage text does not name specific PM or scheduling products (re-checked again later on Oct 17: still unchanged). Re-rendered Oct 19, 2026 in a headless browser (a plain fetch returns only the page title): unchanged; still no AI features described and no PM or scheduling products named. Re-rendered Oct 21, 2026 in a headless browser: unchanged (log generated from PM-software data, CPM schedule link, automatic sub and supplier updates, real-time dashboard and mobile app); still no AI features described and no PM or scheduling products named.

Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • Who each names: PLOT's procurement page is built for superintendents, project managers and trade foremen and says it was built for general contractors, not manufacturers, with project engineers and PMs carrying the risk. LeadTime names general contractors and their trades, with one view for the field, office and trades.
  • Building the log: PLOT tracks submittals, material orders and delivery schedules and links them many-to-many: one submittal to several materials, one material to several installation activities, and materials split into phased orders. LeadTime says it uses existing data from your PM software to generate the procurement log automatically; its homepage does not name the PM software.
  • Schedule link: PLOT imports the CPM schedule and its Procore Schedule integration sets schedule activities as Required on Jobsite dates for material orders that update automatically. LeadTime links CPM project schedules and keeps items in sync with schedule changes and updates; it does not name a scheduling product.
  • Status updates: PLOT sends configurable automated email check-ins that prompt trade partners for status and keeps a detailed change log of every edit. LeadTime says it collects and reports updates from subs and suppliers automatically, with behind-the-scenes processes keeping each item's status current, plus a real-time dashboard and a mobile app.
  • Around the log: PLOT also sells a Deliveries module (shared delivery calendar, delivery screening, gate, dock, crane and lift reservations) and offers a Logistics map free, alone or bundled. LeadTime's homepage describes supply chain, procurement and delivery tracking in one product and no separate logistics map.
  • Integrations named: PLOT lists Autodesk Forma Submittals and Admin imports and Procore Admin, Submittals and Schedule connections on its procurement page, plus Procore Daily Log, DroneDeploy, Propeller and Skyfi on its other module pages. LeadTime's homepage names no specific PM or scheduling product.
  • Pricing (checked Oct 21, 2026): neither publishes dollar figures. PLOT lists Logistics free to use, Deliveries and Lead Times at custom pricing based on contract value, and a Delivery & Lead Times bundle priced on contract value with a discount; modules can be shown or hidden so you pay only for what you use. LeadTime lists Project Subscriptions (project-level tracking, building partners included, duration-based billing, live training and support) and an Enterprise Subscription (company-wide features, annual billing, volume discounts, dedicated support), both with unlimited users, with a custom quote after a demo.
  • Not used here: PLOT's Boldt full-time-employee and cited productivity figures and LeadTime's customer quote (vendor claims). Neither tool has been tested by Means & Methods Lab.

  • Which PM systems LeadTime reads to build the log, and whether it handles phased deliveries of one order
  • Whether PLOT's Lead Times module works for a contractor on neither Procore nor Autodesk Forma
  • What each costs on a project of your contract value or duration
  • How many of your subs and suppliers answer each tool's automated status requests without a phone call
  • What did you use it for, on what kind of work and project size?
  • How long did setup and training take, and who on your team did it?
