Krane vs LeadTime
Two construction procurement-log tools that start the log from different places: Krane describes AI collaborators that build procurement and submittal logs from specs and drawings and chase trade partners for missing lead times; LeadTime generates the log from your existing PM-software data, links CPM schedules and does not describe AI. Both are quote-only. Pages read Oct 16-17, 2026 (Krane homepage re-checked Oct 19, 2026); desk research, not tested, no winner.
In short: Krane (AI procurement & material management; no public prices (quote / sales)) vs LeadTime (Procurement tracking; no public prices (quote / sales)). Facts last checked Oct 17, 2026. No winner declared; not tested.

| What it does | AI-native procurement and materials platform (Krane Procurement OS) that the vendor says flags procurement risks before they hit the schedule. It describes six AI "collaborators" that, for example, read specs to find materials, score suppliers and screen bids; turn specs and drawings into a procurement log and identify critical-path materials; build a submittal log for review; follow up with trade partners by call, email or text for missing lead times; and schedule deliveries to avoid dock conflicts. Products named: Material Management, Auto Log (material lists and submittals from drawings and specs) and Delivery (vendor claims up to 30% fewer site disruptions and material delays). Site has a data centers section. Vendor cites $17B+ in active projects among its customers (vendor claim). Re-read Oct 17, 2026: unchanged (same six AI collaborators, Procurement OS, Material Management, Auto Log and Delivery). | Supply chain, procurement and delivery tracking for construction projects, replacing manual procurement spreadsheets. Listed features: generate the procurement log automatically from existing PM-software data, link CPM project schedules and stay in sync with schedule changes, real-time tracking of every item, automatic collection of status updates from subs and suppliers, and a real-time dashboard and mobile app for the field, office and trades. The homepage (rendered in a browser Oct 16, 2026) does not describe AI features, so we tag it Not AI-first. A customer quote from MW Builders is vendor-published. Re-rendered Oct 17, 2026: unchanged; the homepage text does not name specific PM or scheduling products (re-checked again later on Oct 17: still unchanged). |

| Pricing (as publicly stated) | No public prices (checked Oct 16, 2026): krane.tech/pricing redirects to a "Schedule Demo" sales form. Confirm current pricing with the vendor. Re-checked Oct 17, 2026: /pricing still redirects to the sales form. | Not publicly listed. Homepage lists two subscription types, both with unlimited users: Project Subscriptions (project-level tracking, includes building partners, duration-based billing, live training and support) and an Enterprise Subscription (company-wide features, annual billing, volume discounts, dedicated support); custom quote after a demo. (Checked Oct 16, 2026; unchanged Oct 17, 2026.) |

Where the vendor descriptions differ
- Where the first draft of the log comes from: Krane says its Auto Log turns specs and drawings into material lists, a procurement log and a submittal log and identifies critical-path materials. LeadTime says it generates the procurement log automatically from data already in your PM software; its homepage does not name the PM or scheduling products.
- Schedule link: LeadTime says it links CPM project schedules and stays in sync as they change. Krane says it flags procurement risks before they hit the schedule and surfaces lead times from live project data.
- Chasing suppliers: both say they collect updates. Krane describes a collaborator that follows up with trade partners by call, email or text for missing lead-time information; LeadTime lists automatic collection of status updates from subs and suppliers.
- Deliveries: Krane sells a Delivery product for scheduling deliveries and avoiding dock conflicts and says it reduces site disruptions and material delays by up to 30% (vendor claim). LeadTime lists real-time tracking of every item, a dashboard and a mobile app for field, office and trades.
- AI: Krane describes six AI-native collaborators and is tagged AI-first in our directory. LeadTime's homepage does not describe AI features, so we tag it Not AI-first.
- Pricing: neither publishes prices. Krane's /pricing redirects to a sales form. LeadTime lists Project Subscriptions and an Enterprise Subscription, both with unlimited users, quoted after a demo.
- Claims: Krane cites $17B+ in active projects among its customers; LeadTime publishes a customer quote from MW Builders. Both are vendor-published; neither tool has been tested by Means & Methods Lab.
Paraphrased from the sources listed above. Vendor claims are reported as claims.
What we can't tell you yet
Which tool is better for your work. That needs testing on the same package with a verified answer key. Planned measures for this comparison:
- How often an auto-built log misses a long-lead item on a real spec book
- Which PM and scheduling products LeadTime reads from
- Whether supplier follow-ups are logged so a buyer can see what was asked and answered
