It offers location, operating hours, idle time, fuel and utilization dashboards; owned, rented or leased assets; geofences, groups and projects; utilization targets; a health view of fault codes, Cat S·O·S fluid analysis and Cat Inspect inspection reports; service intervals with checklists and parts lists; parts ordering through parts.cat.com and service scheduling with a local Cat dealer; work tool attachment hours; scheduled reports in CSV, XLSX, JSON or XML. Non-Cat equipment connects through Cat Product Link devices or API feeds from other OEM/third-party telematics, and the page says it supports ISO (AEMP 2.0) standards; Cat notes data field availability varies by manufacturer. The page we read describes no AI features, so we tag it Not AI-first. Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: (read through headless Chrome; a plain request returned 403) the page is unchanged in substance. It lays out setup as three steps: consult your Cat dealer, connect assets (activate the built-in hardware on new Cat equipment, or install Product Link devices or pull API data from other OEM and third-party telematics on older and non-Cat machines), then choose a per-machine subscription. Still no AI described. Re-checked Oct 21, 2026: (read through headless Chrome) unchanged in substance and still no AI described. The getting-started section now has four steps, adding change management (educating users on the platform) after choosing a per-machine subscription, and the page lists integrations with Cat Inspect, Cat S·O·S fluid analysis, Cat SIS2 and SIS2GO service information and the Cat Parts Store. Related offers shown alongside it include VisionLink Productivity, VisionLink Dispatch for Loading, Operator Coaching for Excavators and the Cat PL161 attachment tracker. Re-checked Oct 23, 2026: the page is unchanged in substance (mixed-fleet data via API feeds supporting ISO AEMP 2.0 or Cat Product Link devices, health view of fault codes, fluid analysis and Cat Inspect reports, parts ordering through parts.cat.com, dealer service scheduling, reports in CSV, XLSX, JSON or XML). Read via headless browser (plain request returned 403). No AI described. Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • Not like-for-like: Tenderd is an independent platform that also reaches into driver safety, logistics routing, emissions and cost management; VisionLink is an OEM app tied into Cat's dealer, parts and service network. A mostly-Cat earthmoving fleet and a mixed fleet with on-road trucks may weigh them differently.
  • Mixed fleets: Tenderd's FAQ lists mixed-fleet telematics and says the platform connects vehicles and heavy equipment into one system across sites, yards and distributed projects; the pages we read do not name a telematics standard or specific OEM integrations. VisionLink says it manages mixed-OEM fleets in one interface, using Cat Product Link devices on other makes or API feeds from existing OEM or third-party telematics, and supports ISO (AEMP 2.0); Cat notes that data field availability varies by manufacturer.
  • Maintenance: VisionLink has a health view (fault codes, Cat S·O·S fluid analysis and inspection reports imported from the Cat Inspect app), service intervals with checklists and parts lists, maintenance history, task assignment, parts ordering through parts.cat.com and service scheduling with a local Cat dealer. Tenderd lists predictive alerts with auto-scheduling and preventive maintenance planning.
  • Utilization and cost: both show location, hours, idle time and utilization. VisionLink sets utilization targets, organizes assets by projects, groups and geofences, covers owned, rented or leased assets and work tool attachment hours, and schedules reports in CSV, XLSX, JSON or XML. Tenderd adds AI-driven equipment allocation and forecasts, logistics routing and dispatch, fuel management, emissions monitoring, automated cost tracking, invoicing and budgeting, and BI dashboards.
  • Safety: Tenderd lists AI incident detection and driver monitoring for compliance. VisionLink's page does not describe driver or safety monitoring.
  • AI tag: Tenderd is tagged AI features added to an established product; Cat VisionLink is tagged Not AI-first (the page we read describes no AI features).
  • Pricing (checked Oct 28, 2026): neither publishes prices. Tenderd offers Book a Demo and Contact Us; VisionLink is a per-machine subscription chosen with a Cat dealer. See each tool page for detail.
  • Not used here: Tenderd's fuel, utilization, emissions and downtime percentages and named-customer figures, and Cat's marketing claims (vendor material). Neither tool has been tested by Means & Methods Lab.
