Record360 vs Tenna
Two ways to run equipment inspections on a phone, with photos, e-signatures and repair follow-up. Not like-for-like (our reading): Record360 is inspection software built around the handoff, with photo-first check-out and return records, e-signatures and 360AI damage flags, while Tenna is a construction equipment management platform where custom inspections sit beside tracking, maintenance, dispatch and safety scorecards. Vendor pages re-read Oct 18, 2026; desk research, not tested, no winner.
In short: Record360 (Equipment inspection & damage documentation; no public prices (quote / sales)) vs Tenna (Equipment management & telematics; no public prices (quote / sales)). Facts last checked Oct 18, 2026. No winner declared; not tested.

| What it does | Mobile inspection software for equipment, trucking and auto, with photo-backed check-out and return reports and 360AI damage flagging. It offers guided digital checklists (including DOT checklists) with required photos, signatures and fields, offline capture, time-stamped and geo-located photo/video evidence, e-signed check-out and return reports sent to all parties, asset condition history with side-by-side photo comparison, and rule-based task automation that turns inspection results into repairs or work orders. 360AI is described as using visual heatmaps to flag possible glass, tire and body damage as photos are taken, with the vendor saying "AI-assisted. Human-approved." It says records flow into the customer's rental management system. The homepage cites a Komatsu West result of $500K+ saved on damage disputes (vendor-published customer claim, not verified). Re-read Oct 18, 2026: the 360AI page adds blurry-photo checks, VIN, plate and barcode scanning, voice-to-field capture and a Smart Review queue where a person confirms each AI flag; it says 360AI is included in the applicable plan with no per-scan fees and that Professional customers get new AI releases first. The pricing FAQ says most teams are live in about one week and that inspections work offline and sync on reconnect. | Equipment management software that puts equipment, vehicles, tools, attachments, and materials in one system for tracking, maintenance and dispatch. Features listed: GPS tracking and geofences, utilization, preventive maintenance and work orders, dispatching, asset financials, AI dash cams with driver and operations scorecards, DVIR/ELD/IFTA compliance, and a Virtual Superintendent with automated load counts. Sells its own trackers (TennaCANbus, TennaCAM, TennaFLEET, and more) and integrates with OEM telematics and accounting/ERP. Vendor says 750+ construction businesses use it (vendor claim). Tenna announced Virtual Superintendent on Oct 6, 2026; its first module, Load Tracking, runs machine-learning models on 1 Hz telematics data to recognize loading, queuing, and dumping and to count haul cycles and quantities by job, with no added hardware (vendor description). Re-read Oct 18, 2026: its custom inspections page lists a template builder by asset category, role or compliance need (or an inspection library), pass/fail logic, conditionally required fields, photos and e-signatures, QR-code inspections that work offline, recurring or usage-based schedules, automatic repair requests in Tenna's maintenance module for failed items, inspections attached to dispatch drop-offs, and results that feed its Operations and Safety Scorecard. |
| Who it's for | Equipment rental and dealer yards, fleets and trucking companies documenting check-out/return condition. | Contractors' field, shop, and office teams managing mixed fleets. |
| Pricing (as publicly stated) | No public prices (checked Oct 16, 2026; re-checked Oct 18, 2026): the pricing page is a quote form (industry, goals, number of locations) for a personalized quote. Its FAQ says pricing depends on the number of users and teams, locations, asset volume and types, required workflows and integration needs. Confirm current pricing with the vendor. | Not publicly listed. The pricing page is now a four-step request form (products, asset types, quantity, contact) for customized pricing; no prices shown. (Checked Oct 16, 2026; unchanged Oct 18, 2026, where the form also says implementation is priced on asset count, installation and training locations and features.) Earlier note (Oct 15, 2026): Not publicly listed (custom pricing by request). Pricing page says data and hardware pricing is based on asset count, with Premium Products such as Maintenance and Safety & Compliance as optional add-ons to the TennaCORE platform. |

Where the vendor descriptions differ
- Starting point (vendor wording): Record360 calls itself mobile inspection software built to protect assets, reduce risk and scale, and its menus target equipment rental and dealers, truck, trailer and fleet operators and service teams. Tenna puts equipment, vehicles, tools, attachments and materials in one system for contractors managing mixed fleets, and its inspections page says no single inspection form fits all contractors.
- Capturing the inspection: Record360 lists guided step-by-step inspections, required photos, signatures and fields before submission, photo and video evidence, DOT and compliance checklists, offline use with sync on reconnect, customer signatures at check-out and return with signed reports sent to all parties, and a side-by-side condition history. Tenna lists a template builder by asset category, role or compliance need (or its inspection library), pass/fail logic, conditionally required fields, photos and e-signatures, QR-code inspections in the Tenna App, offline sync, and schedules that recur daily, weekly, on mobilization, on preventive maintenance due dates or on equipment usage, with alerts for missed inspections.
- After the inspection: Record360 says inspection results can trigger repairs, work orders or reviews and route to the right teams, and that it integrates with operational and asset management systems rather than replacing them. Tenna says failed items automatically create repair requests in its Equipment Maintenance module and are tracked to closure, inspections can be attached to dispatch events to document condition at drop-off (to counter equipment damage back charges), and results feed its Operations and Safety Scorecard by employee, crew or location.
- AI: both carry our AI features added label, in different places. Record360's 360AI page says models in the app scan glass, tires and body panels with heatmaps as photos are taken, catch unusable blurry photos, scan VINs, plates and barcodes, turn spoken observations into inspection fields and put flagged photos in a Smart Review queue where a person makes the final call; it says 360AI is included in the applicable plan with no per-scan fees and that Professional customers get new AI releases first. Tenna's inspections page does not describe AI; its AI sits in dash cams and in Virtual Superintendent load counts from telematics data.
- Pricing: neither publishes prices. Record360's pricing page is a quote form and says price depends on users and teams, locations, asset volume and types, required workflows and integrations; its FAQ says most teams are live in about one week. Tenna's pricing form says TennaCORE includes standard tracking features, data and hardware pricing is based on asset count, Maintenance, Safety and Compliance (where inspections and DVIR sit) and Integrations are optional add-ons, and implementation is priced on asset count, locations and features. Not used here: Record360's dispute-reduction percentage, ROI claims and customer results, and Tenna's customer story.

What we can't tell you yet
Which tool is better for your work. That needs testing on the same package with a verified answer key. Planned measures for this comparison:
- Whether you need condition evidence at handoffs to customers and renters (Record360's focus) or inspections tied to your own maintenance and dispatch (Tenna's)
- Whether Tenna's Safety and Compliance add-on is needed for the inspections you want, and what it costs
- How Record360 connects to your equipment or rental system; neither vendor publishes prices
