Spanish and multilingual construction AI for field crews (2026)
Many crews speak Spanish or another language first, and the software they are handed often assumes English. We read the pages of ten construction field, safety and back-office tools in our directory on Oct 20, 2026 and set down what each vendor says about language: whether the whole app is translated, whether AI translates what a worker says or types back into English, and which plan the feature sits on. Every statement below is the vendor's own, read that night. This is desk research, not a test, a ranking or a recommendation, and no vendor paid to be included. If your crews use one of these tools in Spanish or another language, your review is the part we cannot supply.
On this page
Read this first: three different things are called language support
Our framing, not a vendor claim. On the pages we read, language support means one of three things. First, a translated app: menus and screens shown in Spanish or another language, so a worker can find their way around. Second, translation of what people write or say: a note, chat or voice report in one language is turned into another, usually English, for the office. Third, AI that takes a voice note in Spanish and fills in an English form or document, such as a daily report, pre-task plan or T&M tag.
The three solve different problems. A translated app helps a worker use the tool; translation of notes and voice input helps the office read what the field sent. Ask each vendor which of the three it means, for which languages, and whether the original wording is kept next to the translation.
AI that turns Spanish voice notes into English records
Clearstory: its AI page (read Oct 20, 2026) describes a T&M Tag Agent, marked Open Beta, that takes a voice note with photos from field crews, transcribes it, matches the work against the project's rate library and drafts a complete T&M tag ready for signature. The page says it has built-in Spanish-to-English translation and prompts for anything missing (vendor claims). Our Clearstory vs eSUB compare sets it beside another subcontractor change and T&M tool.
Nyfty.ai: an SMS-based set of AI safety agents (workers get a text link and need no app or login, per the vendor). Its FAQ (read Oct 20, 2026) says the Pre-Task Plan Agent works in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and that Work Logs support English and Spanish with automatic translation back to English. The FAQ also says a free trial is available.
Ontollo: its homepage (read Oct 20, 2026) walks through a voice daily-report example in which a crew lead speaks in Spanish, the form discovered from the field app the team already uses is filled in English, and the original wording is kept per field. The page says English and standard Spanish, says dialect edge cases are handled through testing with a real field worker, and says the worker confirms before anything posts (vendor statements; the page labels the example's time figures as assumptions, and we do not repeat them).
Apps whose screens come in Spanish or other languages
Dalux Field: the product page (read Oct 20, 2026) says Dalux is available in 23 languages, with unlimited users and local support. The page describes issue capture, inspections and offline documentation; it does not describe AI translation of field notes.
SkillSignal: a safety and compliance platform whose homepage (read Oct 20, 2026) says the worker app interface is available in 14 languages on iOS and Android, so workers navigate it in their own language, and lists multilingual worker profiles and mobile orientations.
Projul: a construction management app for residential and specialty contractors. Its homepage (read Oct 20, 2026) lists Spanish Translation, described as the full app available in Spanish, alongside daily logs and geofenced time tracking, and links a Projul en Español page.
ClockShark: its pricing page (read Oct 20, 2026) lists built-in Spanish language support on both the Standard and Pro plans of its time-tracking and scheduling app, with a 14-day trial.
Breadcrumb: the homepage (read Oct 20, 2026) says site teams can run English, Spanish and other language orientation sessions at the same time, with digital sign-on. Breadcrumb's AI page says its AI features will reach the US over the coming months through a waitlist, so we treat its language support as workflow, not AI.
Translation that sits on a particular plan
CompanyCam: its homepage (read Oct 20, 2026) lists instant translation of project communication among its AI tools. On the pricing page the same night, "Auto-translate team communication" appears in the list for the Scale plan (described as for multi-crew operations; an Enterprise plan for 50+ users sits above it), and the plan table meters AI features with AI credits that differ by plan. Ask which plan your crew's translation would need.
Opusense: an AI field-report tool for inspectors. Its pricing page (read Oct 20, 2026) lists Base at $49 per user per month, Pro at $79 and Teams at $149, and shows "Multi-lingual - French, English, Spanish" on Pro and Teams but not on Base (vendor-listed prices; the page also offers annual billing at a discount).
Questions to put to any vendor
Our suggestions, not vendor claims. Which languages are supported, and is that the app's screens, translation of notes, or AI voice input? Is translation on the plan you would buy, or on a higher tier or metered by AI credits? Is the original-language text or audio kept next to the English version, so a supervisor can check what was actually said? Who reviews a translated safety record or T&M tag before it is signed? How does it handle regional Spanish, mixed English and Spanish, and trade slang? Does translated content flow into the system of record you already use (Procore, Autodesk or your own forms)?
None of these vendor statements tells you how well the translation works for your crews. That is what a review from someone who has used it on a jobsite can say: which language, which trade, what got lost in translation, and whether workers kept using it.
Takeaways
- Language support means three things: translated screens, translation of notes, or AI voice input that fills English records.
- Clearstory, Nyfty.ai and Ontollo describe AI that turns Spanish voice or text into English records (vendor claims, read Oct 20, 2026).
- Dalux says 23 languages and SkillSignal says 14 for the worker app; Projul and ClockShark list Spanish versions.
- CompanyCam lists auto-translate on its Scale plan; Opusense lists French, English and Spanish on Pro and Teams only.
- Ask whether the original wording is kept and who checks a translated record before it is signed.
Questions and answers
From the desk research above (vendor pages read Oct 20, 2026). Vendor statements are claims, not tested.
Which construction field apps work in Spanish?
On pages read Oct 20, 2026: Projul lists the full app in Spanish, ClockShark lists built-in Spanish support on its Standard and Pro plans, Dalux says it is available in 23 languages, and SkillSignal says its worker app comes in 14 languages. Breadcrumb says it runs English, Spanish and other language orientation sessions at the same time. These are vendor statements; we have not tested them.
Can AI turn a Spanish voice note into an English construction record?
Three vendors describe it. Clearstory's T&M Tag Agent (Open Beta) drafts a T&M tag from a voice note with built-in Spanish-to-English translation; Nyfty.ai says its Work Logs translate Spanish back to English and its Pre-Task Plan Agent works in English, Spanish and Portuguese; and Ontollo shows a daily report spoken in Spanish and filled in English, with the original kept per field. All are vendor claims read Oct 20, 2026.
Is translation included in every plan?
Not always. On Oct 20, 2026, CompanyCam listed auto-translate team communication in its Scale plan, and Opusense showed French, English and Spanish on its Pro ($79 per user per month) and Teams ($149) plans but not on Base ($49). Ask each vendor which plan your crew's language features need.
What should I ask before buying multilingual construction software?
Our suggestions: which languages, and whether that means translated screens, translated notes or AI voice input; which plan includes it; whether the original wording is kept next to the English version; who reviews a translated safety record or T&M tag before it is signed; and how it handles regional Spanish and trade slang.
