What it doesVisual Planner, construction planning software built on the Last Planner System for digital pull planning; free trial offered. Re-read Oct 17, 2026: the homepage says milestones and activities can be imported from Oracle Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject or Microsoft Project; Percent Plan Complete (PPC) and reasons-for-variance data generate as teams status tasks; constraints show as warning dots on affected tasks; up to three connected touch displays can share one plan; and remote users join from a laptop, tablet or phone. Pricing page re-read Oct 17, 2026: $1,400 single plan and 30-day trial unchanged. Support pages (re-read Oct 17, 2026) say a Not done activity requires a reason for variance, PPC is done activities divided by committed activities, and reports export to PDF and Power BI. Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: homepage and pricing unchanged. The homepage FAQ adds that dependencies are drawn as arrows between cards with red indicators for downstream impacts, a staging area lets field teams queue tasks from a phone before a planning meeting, tasks are marked done with a twist gesture on a touchscreen, milestones can also come from a CSV, and all plan data can be exported to Power BI for portfolio reporting; it says large projects are best split across several plans. A PCL Construction hospital video is vendor-published.AI-powered, collaborative scheduling and field coordination platform (vendor description) for master schedules, lookaheads and weekly work plans. Users can build master schedules (or import from MS Project or P6), create lookaheads from the master schedule with progress pushing back automatically, weekly work plans with trade commitments, and reporting such as Percent Planned Complete, Percent Roadblocks Removed, Reason for Variance, and S-curves. Procore integration is described by customers; the pricing FAQ (checked Oct 15, 2026) lists two-way Procore integration, Autodesk Construction Cloud integration, and export to PDF, XML, or XER. Vendor cites 450+ customers and $50B+ in active projects (vendor claims). Re-read Oct 17, 2026: the homepage now calls Outbuild a scheduling intelligence platform for construction, announces a Q3 launch called Field Forward, and lists turning RFIs into trackable roadblocks; its Procore section lists two-way schedule sync, submittals tied to schedule activities, RFIs pulled into the Roadblock Log and drawings attached to lookahead tasks. The pricing FAQ says every plan includes onboarding, live support, integrations and iPad access. Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: unchanged in substance. The base plan is now named Outbuild Core (master schedule, lookahead, project hub, weekly work plan, schedule impact management, roadblocks and Outbuild AI); the menu describes Outbuild AI as instant schedule answers and lists scheduling agents, a template library and Schedule Impact Requests; integrations listed are Autodesk, Procore and Trimble ProjectSight; and the pricing page lists iPad and iPhone apps with an offline mode.

Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • Scope: Nialli plans the near-term work. It imports milestones and activities from Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, Microsoft Project or a CSV, then teams build phase pulls, weekly plans and daily huddle views on one visual board. Outbuild builds or imports the master schedule (MS Project or P6) as well, creates lookaheads from it with progress flowing back automatically, and adds weekly work plans with trade commitments, so the master schedule lives in the same tool.
  • In the room: Nialli is designed for large touch displays, with up to three connected screens on one plan, drag-and-drop and twist gestures, a staging area where trades queue tasks from a phone before the meeting, and dependency arrows that turn red when an upstream task slips. Outbuild lists iPad and iPhone apps with an offline mode for supers and foremen to update schedules and flag roadblocks.
  • Lean metrics and constraints: both generate Percent Plan Complete and reasons-for-variance data as tasks are statused. Nialli shows constraints as warning dots on affected tasks. Outbuild keeps a roadblock log, turns Procore RFIs into trackable roadblocks, and also reports Percent Roadblocks Removed and S-curves.
  • Systems: Nialli exports reports to PDF and plan data to Power BI; we did not find a Procore integration on its pages. Outbuild lists two-way Procore integration (schedule sync, submittals tied to activities, RFIs, drawings on lookahead tasks), a one-click schedule push to Autodesk Construction Cloud, Trimble ProjectSight in its integrations menu, and export to PDF, XML or XER.
  • AI: Nialli's pages do not describe AI features; we label it Not AI-first. Outbuild describes Outbuild AI (instant schedule answers on risk and impact) and scheduling agents, and we label it AI-first; we have not tested either.
  • Pricing (checked Oct 19, 2026): Nialli lists a single-plan subscription at $1,400 a year with unlimited users (one plan supports up to 25 lanes of activity), Multiplan volume pricing on request and a 30-day trial with no credit card. Outbuild Core starts at $999 a month billed annually, scaled by the company's annual construction volume, with unlimited users and projects; Outbuild Pro is custom-priced; a free trial is offered. Neither tool has been tested by Means & Methods Lab.
