Kwant vs MSite
Two jobsite workforce and access control platforms that each pair software with turnstiles and facial recognition hardware. Kwant is a US vendor that has added AI reporting to its workforce, safety and site-access product and sells into mission-critical, multifamily, airport, manufacturing and oil and gas work. MSite (part of Infobric Group) is rooted in UK principal-contractor compliance: pre-site vetting, CSCS card checks, biometric turnstiles and supply chain assurance below Tier 1. Close to like-for-like on the core job, with different home markets. Vendor pages read Nov 1, 2026; desk research from vendor sites, no winner.

| What it does | Construction workforce management combining software and access-control hardware for safety, certifications, attendance and AI reporting. It covers onboarding and safety orientation, COI and worker-certification tracking, mass messaging and alerts, fatigue management, time and attendance, zone analytics (Zone IQ), portfolio analytics and AI reporting, with a Kwant Mobile App and access control hardware (AI-powered facial recognition, smart badges/wearables, location sensors). The access control page says its turnstiles can generally be installed within a day, connect to the access control system via Bluetooth or standalone, are waterproof, ship within 2-14 business days and can take a camera (vendor statements). Vendor describes an AI-powered workforce platform and risk data usable for insurance underwriting (workers' comp, GL, builders' risk, wrap-ups). Markets listed include mission critical, multifamily, manufacturing, airports and oil and gas. Its blog includes an Oct 20, 2026 post titled Kwant Gives the Jobsite Five New Senses ahead of Procore's Groundbreak 2026. "World's first" lines, savings, ROI, productivity and incident-reduction figures and customer quotes are vendor claims and are not used. | Construction supply chain assurance and workforce management software for principal contractors, part of Infobric Group, with Global, UK, US, Swedish and Norwegian regional sites. It sells pre-registration, online inductions in 30+ languages, identity and right-to-work vetting, time and attendance, access control, briefings, fatigue management, RAMS and visitor management, with an authorised CITB API that checks CSCS and other cards and blocks access when they expire; the Software menu also lists Timesheets, Delivery Management and Labour Requisitioning. Hardware includes MSite Face facial recognition and Face Mini clocking stations (the FAQ says they detect photographs or AI-generated images and deny access; vendor statement), the Pod (a container with a full-height turnstile, biometric reader and lockable door) and full- and half-height turnstiles. Supply Chain Assurance maps the project-specific contractor hierarchy below Tier 1 and links workers to their employers; the FAQ says it can be piloted on one project and does not guarantee legal or regulatory compliance. Packages also mention automated reporting on workforce diversity, training, safety and community engagement, and carbon reporting on site materials through supply chain integrations. A Procore integration syncs workers to the Procore directory, and biometrically verified sign-ins populate Procore timesheets and appear as timecard and manpower entries in the daily log. No AI is described. Customer and worker counts are vendor claims and are not used. |

Where the vendor descriptions differ
- Onboarding and credentials: Kwant lists safety orientation, worker certification tracking and certificate of insurance (COI) tracking. MSite's Pre-Site package builds one worker profile with Right to Work documents and visas, runs online inductions in more than 30 languages, and says its authorised CITB connection checks CSCS, CPCS, CISRS, SSSTS and SMTS cards and automatically blocks expired credentials (vendor statement).
- Access hardware: Kwant lists access control turnstiles, facial recognition, smart badges and wearables, and location sensors. MSite sells MSite Face and Face Mini facial recognition stations, the Pod (a container with a full-height turnstile and biometric reader) and full- and half-height turnstiles, and its Workforce App offers contactless access using phone biometrics.
- Time and fatigue: both list time and attendance and fatigue management. Kwant also lists a feature it calls Zone IQ. MSite's On-Site package records arrival and exit through Face Mini stations or app location check-in, with timesheets, digital briefings and toolbox talks, and delivery management.
- Communication: Kwant lists mass messaging and a mobile app. MSite's Workforce App sends notifications straight to workers.
- Supply chain and risk: MSite's Supply Chain Assurance maps subcontractors and labour providers below Tier 1 on each project. Kwant says its workforce data can support insurance underwriting, and lists portfolio analytics and what it calls a Workforce OS.
- Integrations: MSite's Procore integration fills Procore timesheets and daily log entries from sign-in data. The Kwant pages we read do not name project management integrations.
- AI tags: Kwant is tagged AI features added to an established product (it lists AI reporting). MSite stays Not AI-first; the MSite pages we read do not describe AI features.
- Pricing (checked Nov 1, 2026): neither publishes prices. Kwant's /pricing returns not found and its demo form mentions custom pricing. MSite sells Pre-Site, On-Site and In-Site packages, each with Get a Quote and no figures, and says modules can be bought on their own or together.
- Not used here: Kwant's ROI, savings, incident-rate and productivity figures and customer quotes, MSite's customer, worker and project counts and its site-theft cost claim. Facts for both tools come from vendor websites (desk research).
