ConeLabs vs DroneDeploy

Two platforms that turn site imagery into 3D models, with different scope. ConeLabs is a web platform that builds high-detail 3D models from smartphone, camera or drone photos you capture yourself, then supports AI analysis, measurements, annotations and inspection reports for building envelopes, utilities, bridges and roads; its site says it is now part of Consor. DroneDeploy, now owned by Procore, is a reality capture platform for drones, robots, 360 cameras, fixed cameras and phones, with maps, earthworks, 360 walks, inspection reports and Progress AI and Safety AI add-ons. Partly like-for-like: both process images into 3D models you can measure and share, but ConeLabs is inspection-only and hardware-agnostic while DroneDeploy also runs flights and docks and tracks construction progress. Desk research from vendor sites read Oct 30-31, 2026; no winner.

What it doesWeb platform that builds high-detail 3D models from smartphone, camera or drone images for AI analysis, measurements and shareable reports. Capture is data-source-agnostic with off-the-shelf hardware; images are processed in the cloud into a photorealistic 3D model that supports AI analysis, measurements, annotations and labelling, web-link sharing and report export. Industries listed: buildings (envelope defects), utilities, and transport (structural health of bridges, roads, aerial and marine infrastructure, with location and severity levels). A site banner says ConeLabs is now part of Consor and points to Consor's website; the footer still reads 2024.Reality capture platform combining drones (including docked drones), 360° cameras, robots, fixed cameras and smartphones. The homepage leads with visual AI and robotics across all sites, with AI agents surfacing schedule or safety risks, and progress, quality (visual defect detection ranked by severity) and safety use cases. Aerial plans cover maps, 3D models, design overlays and earthworks cut/fill; Ground plans cover 360 walks, BIM/drawing overlays and phone-based 3D scans. Add-ons on the pricing page: Progress AI (progress reports from 360 walks and aerial imagery, no 3D model required), Safety AI (OSHA risk detection), Dock Automation, Robotic Automation and DroneDeploy Firewall; the platform menu also lists Earthworks AI, Industrial Inspection and a Data on Demand service. Integrations: Procore, Autodesk, Esri and others. Vendor claims ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type 2 and NIST 800-53 compliance (vendor claims). Procore announced an agreement to acquire DroneDeploy on July 29, 2026, and its Sept. 9, 2026 SEC filing says it completed the acquisition for about $845 million in cash. Pricing (as publicly stated)Not publicly listed. The vendor site has no pricing or plans link, and /pricing and /plans return a not-found page. The call to action is Request a demo. Confirm current pricing with the vendor.Team plans (Unified, Aerial Pro, Aerial, Ground Pro, Ground) are custom quotes. Individual Flight & Analysis plan $4,188 billed annually (single admin user, up to 3,000 images per map, ground capture processing not included); Ag Lite plan for agriculture pilots $1,908 billed annually (up to 1,000 images per map); Advanced Flight & Analysis (10k image upload per map) is Let's talk / Contact Sales. The FAQ says individual licences can be billed monthly or annually and offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card. Confirm current pricing with the vendor.

Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • What each sells (vendor wording): ConeLabs says its mission is to revolutionize inspections and keep people safe, with an end-to-end solution from field work to the final report. DroneDeploy calls itself the unified reality capture platform, one platform for every site, every inspection and every phase, from data centers to solar farms to multi-phase builds.
  • Capture: ConeLabs says its platform is data source agnostic: collect images with a smartphone, camera or drone, upload them, and process your own 3D models in a web application. DroneDeploy lists automated drone and docked-drone flights through its Flight app, ground capture with 360 cameras and robots, iPhone or iPad 3D scans with optional RTK accuracy, and fixed cameras.
  • Outputs: ConeLabs lists photorealistic 3D reconstruction, measurements, annotations and labelling, models shared as web links viewable on a consumer-grade computer, and inspection data export or linking to a project report. DroneDeploy Aerial lists maps, 3D models, design overlays and inspection reports, Aerial Pro adds earthworks cut/fill, and Ground adds 360 walks with BIM and drawing overlays.
  • Uses named: ConeLabs names building envelope defects (infiltration, poor insulation, weather damage), utilities (power generation, water, telecommunications, oil and gas) and transport structures (bridges, roads, aerial and marine infrastructure) with location and severity levels. DroneDeploy's menu lists Industrial Inspection alongside its construction capture products.
  • AI (vendor statements): ConeLabs says AI analyzes the 3D model as part of the inspection; we tag it AI-first. DroneDeploy lists Progress AI, Safety AI (automatic OSHA risk detection) and Earthworks AI; we tag it AI features added to an established product.
  • Pricing (DroneDeploy checked Oct 30, ConeLabs Oct 31, 2026): ConeLabs publishes no prices (/pricing returns not found; Request a demo). DroneDeploy's Unified, Aerial Pro, Aerial, Ground Pro and Ground plans are by custom quote; a single-pilot Flight & Analysis plan is $4,188 billed annually and does not include ground capture processing.
  • Ownership: ConeLabs' site banner says it is now part of Consor and links to Consor's website. Procore completed its acquisition of DroneDeploy in September 2026 per Procore's SEC filing.
