| Sheet row | DroneDeploy | Track3D |
|---|---|---|
| Category | Reality capture (aerial & ground) | Progress tracking |
| AI role (our label) | AI features added to established product | AI-first |
| What it does | Reality capture platform combining drones (including docked drones), 360° cameras, robots, fixed cameras, and smartphones. Aerial plans cover maps, 3D models, design overlays, and earthworks cut/fill; Ground plans cover 360 walks, BIM/drawing overlays, and phone-based 3D scans. Add-ons include Progress AI (progress reports from 360 walks and aerial imagery, no 3D model required) and Safety AI (OSHA risk detection). Integrations: Procore, Autodesk, Esri, and others. Vendor says it is SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001 certified and is used on 3 million sites in 180 countries (vendor claims). Procore announced an agreement to acquire DroneDeploy on July 29, 2026, and its Sept. 9, 2026 SEC filing says it completed the acquisition for about $845 million in cash. Re-read Oct 19, 2026: the pricing page add-ons now also list Dock Automation, Robotic Automation and DroneDeploy Firewall, and it claims ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type 2 and NIST 800-53 compliance (vendor claims). Re-checked Oct 21, 2026: the homepage now leads with visual AI and robotics across all sites (360 cameras, robots and drones, with AI agents surfacing schedule or safety risks) and progress, quality (visual defect detection ranked by severity) and safety use cases; the pricing page plan lineup (Unified, Aerial Pro, Aerial, Ground Pro, Ground) and add-ons (Progress AI, Safety AI, Dock Automation, Robotic Automation, DroneDeploy Firewall) are unchanged. The ROI calculator's savings estimates, site counts and customer quotes are vendor content and not used. Re-checked Oct 22, 2026: the homepage now carries an Attending Groundbreak? banner, and the platform menu lists Earthworks AI alongside Safety AI and Progress AI, plus a Data on Demand service; the pricing page plan lineup and add-ons are unchanged. Re-checked Oct 23, 2026: the Groundbreak banner is gone; the homepage still leads with visual AI and robotics across all sites, and the menu still lists Safety AI, Progress AI, Earthworks AI and Data on Demand; the pricing page plan lineup and add-ons are unchanged. Customer quotes and site counts not used. Re-checked Oct 25, 2026: homepage and pricing page unchanged in substance (visual AI and robotics across all sites; Safety AI, Progress AI and Earthworks AI, Dock Automation, Robotics, Industrial Inspection and Data on Demand in the menu; plan lineup and add-ons unchanged). Customer quotes, savings figures and site counts are vendor content and are not used. | AI reality intelligence platform that unifies reality capture data and quantifies installed work across job activities from each capture. Vendor says visuals are available in 30 minutes and progress data in 6 hours (conditions apply), with no BIM model required to start, and production analytics tied to cost codes. Customers quoted include Hensel Phelps and Performance Contracting Group. The homepage (Oct 19, 2026) announces a new commercial model with visual documentation at no additional cost. Re-checked Oct 20, 2026: unchanged in substance (visual data in 30 minutes and progress data in 6 hours, conditions apply; no BIM model required to start; the new commercial model banner). The site menu lists VisualTrack, ProgressTrack and DeviationTrack (marked Coming Soon) and Procore, Autodesk Forma and Fieldwire integrations. The homepage percentage results (such as 15% coordination time saved and 20% lower rework cost) are vendor claims and were not used. Re-checked Oct 22, 2026: homepage and pricing page unchanged in substance (the new commercial model banner; visuals in 30 minutes and progress in as fast as 6 hours; no BIM model required to start; VisualTrack, ProgressTrack and DeviationTrack (Coming Soon); Procore, Autodesk Forma and Fieldwire integrations); the pricing page also lists Schedule Recovery (the pace needed to get back on track when the schedule slips). Customer time-saved quotes not used. Re-checked Oct 23, 2026: homepage and pricing page unchanged in substance (new commercial model banner; visuals in 30 minutes and progress in as fast as 6 hours; no BIM model required to start; VisualTrack, ProgressTrack and DeviationTrack (Coming Soon); Procore, Autodesk Forma and Fieldwire integrations; Schedule Recovery). Customer quotes not used. Re-checked Oct 25, 2026: homepage and pricing page unchanged in substance (new commercial model banner; visuals in 30 minutes and progress in as fast as 6 hours, conditions apply; no BIM model required to start; VisualTrack, ProgressTrack and DeviationTrack (Coming Soon); Procore, Autodesk Forma and Fieldwire integrations; Schedule Recovery). Customer quotes, including a new one citing weekly hours saved, and percentage results are vendor content and are not used. |

Where the vendor descriptions differ
- Starting point: DroneDeploy is a capture platform first (drone mapping, 360 and phone walks, docks and ground robots) with Progress AI, Safety AI and Earthworks AI on top. Track3D says reality capture is table stakes and sells the progress layer: it ingests site capture and quantifies installed work by job activity.
- Speed claims: Track3D says visuals are available in about 30 minutes and progress data in as little as 6 hours after capture, with conditions applying. DroneDeploy's pages describe automated schedule tracking and quantification but we did not find a comparable turnaround figure. Both are vendor claims, not tested.
- BIM: Track3D says no BIM model is required to start and measures installed work directly from capture. DroneDeploy's earthworks analysis compares against design surfaces (Cut / Fill vs. Design Surface is listed on its Advanced Flight & Analysis plan).
- Pricing shape: DroneDeploy publishes individual plans (Flight & Analysis $4,188 a year for a single admin user, up to 3,000 images per map) and quotes Unified, Aerial and Ground team plans, with Progress AI and Safety AI listed as add-ons. Track3D shows a $0.15 per sq ft headline with Talk to Sales, says each sq ft registered for progress unlocks 5X that in visual coverage at no added cost, and includes unlimited users.
- Ecosystem: Procore completed its acquisition of DroneDeploy in September 2026 (per Procore's SEC filing). Track3D lists Procore, Autodesk Forma and Fieldwire integrations, so a Procore shop could still connect either one.
- Not used here: customer quotes, savings multiples, site counts and percentage results on either vendor's site.
