What it doesMaterials management for trade contractors, built for MEP contractors: plan, purchase, track, receive and pay for materials, with mobile field requisitions, purchasing, warehouse inventory, prefab and kitting, and tool tracking. Kojo AP uses AI-powered invoice scanning and 3-way matching of invoices to POs and delivery slips to flag discrepancies, with accounting/ERP and supplier integrations. Tool Tracking (usekojo.com/solutions/tool-tracking and a launch blog post) describes a central tool inventory showing each tool's assignee, location and condition; tool detail pages with pictures and statuses; lifecycle statuses including service, damaged, lost and stolen; filters by job, assignee, location, status, serial and model number; bulk moves and check-in/check-out with a status-change history; and field, warehouse and tool crib teams checking tools in and out and requesting tools on their phones. Savings figures and customer quotes are vendor claims not used here.Asset management for tools, equipment, supplies, consumables and PPE using tags and gateways, with maintenance scheduling. It uses durable asset tags plus inventory gateways (a heavy-equipment GPS gateway that also reads Hilti sensor tags on site, and a vehicle gateway that does remote inventory checks and alerts if items leave a vehicle after hours), coin-sized smart tags that detect when an asset was last used, GPS geo tags for mixers and trailers, proactive low-stock alerts and reports for supplies, maintenance scheduling and service records, safety-certification checks for who is using what, and ON!Track Unite open APIs; connected assets range from small drill drivers to 40-ton excavators, and the page links a login to ON!Track 3.0. Hilti says it is manufacturer-independent, so assets from any brand can be managed, and that it starts with an onsite consultation and productivity analysis, then setup, training and ongoing support. Two tags are named AI T320 (smart tag, IP67) and AI T400 (geo tag, IP68); the page does not describe AI features, so we tag it Not AI-first.

Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • Not like-for-like: Kojo's tool tracking sits inside a wider platform for material requisitions, purchasing, warehouse inventory, prefab and invoices. ON!Track is focused on tracking and managing assets and inventory, and says it can be integrated with your own systems.
  • How tools are tracked (vendor statements): Kojo's tool tracking page describes a central dashboard showing each tool's current assignee, location and condition, a tool history with photos and service, damaged, lost and stolen statuses, and field teams checking tools in and out and requesting tools from their phones. The Kojo pages we read do not describe tracking tags, GPS or gateways, so ask how location is captured. ON!Track pairs asset tags with gateways: a GPS gateway for heavy equipment, a vehicle gateway with remote inventory checks and alerts if items are removed out of hours, the coin-sized AI T320 smart tag that detects when an asset was last used, and the AI T400 GPS geo tag for machinery such as mixers and trailers.
  • Beyond tools (vendor statements): Kojo's pricing page lists tool tracking, maintenance records and service reminders in its Warehouse product, next to material inventory, procurement and finance features. ON!Track lists supplies, consumables and PPE with low-stock alerts, checks on who is using which equipment and whether they are certified, and maintenance scheduling with service records, and says it is manufacturer-independent.
  • Integrations (vendor statements): Kojo lists ERP and project management integrations including Acumatica, Autodesk, CMiC, Procore, QuickBooks, Sage, Spectrum and Vista, plus electrical and plumbing supplier integrations. Hilti offers ON!Track Unite open APIs for connecting construction management software.
  • AI (our reading): neither product's tool tracking is AI-led. Kojo describes AI-powered invoice processing for finance teams, but its tool tracking page does not describe AI. Hilti's tags are named AI T320 and AI T400, but the ON!Track page does not describe AI features.
  • Pricing (checked Oct 31, 2026): neither publishes prices. Kojo quotes by product (Warehouse, Prefab, Procurement, Finance) with unlimited users and data and says there are no hidden fees. Hilti starts with a productivity analysis or initial consultation with its ON!Track team, followed by setup, training and ongoing support; tag and gateway hardware costs are not listed.
  • Not used here: customer quotes and logos on either site and Hilti's promotional banner (vendor material). Facts for both come from vendor websites (desk research).
