What it doesAutodesk bid management platform: find and qualify subs, send bid invitations, track responses, and compare bids. Autodesk says AI features are available in BuildingConnected Pro, Bid Board Pro, and TradeTapp, for example a Recommendation Engine that suggests bidders by location, trade expertise, and past performance; Bid Forwarding, which pulls key details from bid invitations received outside BuildingConnected into Bid Board; and TradeTapp Financial Data Extraction, which turns PDF financial statements into structured data. Autodesk notes some of its AI features do not use machine learning, and points to its Trust Center for which features use training data (re-checked Oct 16, 2026). Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: the product page still describes Recommendation Engine, Bid Forwarding and TradeTapp Financial Data Extraction under Autodesk AI, and the pricing page still offers Request a Quote with flexible user, project and account-based pricing. Re-checked Oct 21, 2026: unchanged in substance; the page now carries a banner saying Autodesk Construction Cloud is part of Autodesk Forma and product names have been updated. Flag: the product page says over 1,000,000 construction professionals in one line and 1.5M+ in another, and the pricing page says 1.5+ million builders; we use none of these network counts. Re-checked Oct 22, 2026: unchanged in substance; the Forma banner is still shown, the product family is still BuildingConnected Pro for GCs and owners, Bid Board Pro for subcontractors and TradeTapp for qualification, and the AI FAQ still describes Recommendation Engine, Bid Forwarding and TradeTapp Financial Data Extraction with the Trust Center note. The pages name Autodesk Docs and Autodesk Build Cost Management (turning winning bids into contracts) as integrations. Network and percentage figures and customer quotes on the pages are not used here. Re-checked Oct 23, 2026: product page and FAQ unchanged in substance (BuildingConnected Pro, Bid Board Pro and TradeTapp; AI features named as the Recommendation Engine, Bid Forwarding and TradeTapp Financial Data Extraction). Network size, project counts and customer percentages are vendor figures and not used. Re-checked Oct 24, 2026: product page and FAQ unchanged in substance (BuildingConnected Pro, Bid Board Pro and TradeTapp; AI features named as the Recommendation Engine, Bid Forwarding and TradeTapp Financial Data Extraction). The autodesk.com BuildingConnected Pro overview returned an access error (403) to our reader again. Network figures and customer quotes are not used. Re-checked Oct 25, 2026: product page unchanged in substance (BuildingConnected Pro for GCs and owners, Bid Board Pro for subcontractors, TradeTapp for qualification; the Autodesk Forma banner is still shown). The page gives two different network sizes (1,000,000+ and 1.5M+ professionals); we use neither.Bid management suite for invitations to bid, bid leveling, prequalification and a supplemental subcontractor directory. Modules listed: bid solicitation (bidder lists from favorites and custom filters, track invitations), bid tabulation and leveling (itemized bid tab sheets, side-by-side comparison, identify scope differences, enter plug numbers or overrides with comments), prequalification via a form builder that can be embedded on your own website, a supplemental subcontractor directory, reports and analytics, and value-added services such as an ITB service. Integrations listed include HCSS (for heavy highway and heavy civil) and Procore. Vendor says your database is never shared. Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: bid invitations and notices are sent from your own company email, vendors open project files from the invitation without registering, prequalification supports custom approval workflows, and bid forms can be built manually, copied from prior projects or imported from Excel; a Bid Form Wizard is described as predicting which bid form templates go with each trade or bid package. The pages we read do not describe AI features. Re-checked Oct 20, 2026: unchanged in substance; the bid solicitation page also lists bid packages with their own bid dates and invite wording, NDA-gated projects with an access report, sealed bids hidden until an unseal time, bid phases for rebids, RFIs submitted into a private planroom and business units for regional offices, subsidiaries or joint ventures; the tabulation page says leveling recalculates the adjusted total, sorts bids low to high and exports a summary to Excel; and the integrations page says the HCSS HeavyBid sync shares project information, contacts and bid calendars while the Procore integration pushes project information, plans, bid documents, awarded vendors and proposals. Still no AI described. Re-checked Oct 22, 2026: unchanged in substance (invitations from your own email with no-registration file access, sealed bids, NDA-gated projects, itemized tabulation with plug numbers and overrides, Excel export, Bid Form Wizard, prequalification forms and approval workflows, HCSS and Procore integrations); the footer lists add-on services (database management, Find Me More Subs, ITB response calling). Still no AI described; customer quotes not used. Re-checked Oct 23, 2026: homepage and FAQ unchanged in substance (bidder lists from favorites and custom filters, invitations from your own email with no-registration file access, in-line editing of your own data, itemized tabulation with plug numbers and overrides, Bid Form Wizard, prequalification form builder and approval workflows, NDA-gated projects); the integrations page lists HCSS HeavyBid (syncs project information, contacts and bid calendars) and Procore (transfers project information, plans, bid documents, awarded vendors and proposals), alongside Stack takeoff, Premier Construction Software and Plans4Less. Still no AI described; customer quotes not used. Re-checked Oct 25, 2026: homepage and FAQ unchanged in substance (formerly PipelineSuite; bid solicitation, itemized tabulation and leveling with plug numbers and overrides, prequalification form builder, subcontractor directory, unlimited projects, emails and file sizes, subs open invitations without signing up; HCSS and Procore integrations; 14-day free trial; free PreconDirectory listing for subcontractors). Still no AI described; customer quotes not used.

Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • What each includes (vendor pages): BuildingConnected Pro is for GCs and owners running bids; Bid Board Pro gives subcontractors an online bid board with a plan room and bid forwarding; TradeTapp qualifies subcontractors and shares risk information with estimating teams. PreconSuite lists bid solicitation, bid tabulation and leveling, prequalification, a subcontractor directory, value-added services and reports.
  • Bid invitations and leveling: PreconSuite sends invitations from your own company email, and vendors open project files without registering; its leveling takes plug numbers and overrides, recalculates the adjusted total, sorts bids low to high and exports a summary to Excel. BuildingConnected centers on its own network, where subcontractors manage invites on Bid Board.
  • Prequalification: TradeTapp handles subcontractor qualification inside Autodesk's suite. PreconSuite's prequal form builder can build any questionnaire, be emailed or embedded on your website, and run approval workflows.
  • AI: Autodesk names a Recommendation Engine that suggests bidders by location, trade and past performance, Bid Forwarding that pulls details from outside bid invitations into Bid Board, and TradeTapp Financial Data Extraction from PDF financial statements; tagged AI features added to established product. The PreconSuite pages we read describe no AI; tagged Not AI-first.
  • Integrations: BuildingConnected integrates with Autodesk Docs and Autodesk Build Cost Management (turning winning bids into contracts), and Autodesk says Autodesk Construction Cloud is now part of Autodesk Forma. PreconSuite syncs with HCSS HeavyBid (project information, contacts, bid calendars) and pushes project files to Procore; it also lists Stack, Premier Construction Software and Plans4Less.
  • Pricing (checked Oct 26, 2026): neither publishes prices. Autodesk offers Get a Quote with flexible user, project and account-based pricing, a Preconstruction bundle and a 30-day money-back guarantee. PreconSuite says you pay only for the modules you need, on monthly or quarterly terms with an annual discount and no annual contract required, with a 14-day free trial and free training.
  • Not used here: Autodesk's network size and percentage figures and PreconSuite customer quotes (vendor content).
