| AI role (our label) | AI features added to established product | AI features added to established product |
| What it does | Commercial construction project database for finding planning-stage and bid-stage projects, specs, and the owners, architects, and contractors behind them. Dodge says projects are verified by its research team and that it publishes 7,000+ updates a day (vendor figure). AI Search Assist, which Dodge marks as new, takes a plain-language request (Dodge's example: "HVAC projects over $2M bidding soon near Nashville"), applies the matching filters, and shows them as editable pills; Dodge says it is built into Dodge One at no additional cost. Dodge also lists Bid Board by Downtobid, an inbox-based bid-invite manager for subcontractors, as part of the Dodge family. | Construction project data and preconstruction software to find projects, do takeoff and estimating, and manage bids. Products listed include Intelligent Leads, ConstructConnect Takeoff ("AI Powered Takeoff"), Takeoff BOOST (AI plan measuring), On-Screen Takeoff, and PlanSwift. |
| Who it's for | Building product manufacturers, distributors, general contractors, subcontractors, and architects and engineers (Dodge's list). | Contractors and building-product manufacturers. |
| Pricing (as publicly stated) | Not publicly listed (Dodge's pages route to Request a Demo; AI Search Assist is described as included in Dodge One at no additional cost). | Project Intelligence (leads): Starter $129/mo per market, per seat (month-to-month); Professional from $199/mo per market, per seat (annual contract; adds plans/specs/addenda, contacts, and Ask Docs LLM document search); Premium from $10,000/yr. ConstructConnect Takeoff: Starter $1,200/yr (shown as $100/mo; 1 seat, 25 plans per project); Professional $2,200/yr for the first seat and $1,700 per additional seat (adds AI Auto Takeoff, part of Takeoff Boost). Takeoff is on annual contracts; the FAQ says no refunds for mid-term cancellation. (Pricing re-checked Oct 14, 2026.) |

Where the vendor descriptions differ
- AI search: Dodge describes AI Search Assist (marked new), which turns a plain-language request into Dodge One filters (project type, geography, trade, stage, valuation, bid date) shown as editable pills. ConstructConnect lists Ask Docs, LLM-based document searching, on its Project Intelligence Professional plan.
- Data claims: Dodge says its projects are verified by a research team and that it publishes 7,000+ updates a day. ConstructConnect's Professional plan adds access to plans, specifications, addenda, planning projects, and contact information. Neither figure has been checked by Means & Methods Lab.
- Beyond leads: Dodge lists The Blue Book Network, Bid Board by Downtobid, Sweets, and market forecasting. ConstructConnect also sells takeoff (ConstructConnect Takeoff with AI Auto Takeoff on its Professional plan, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift).
- Pricing: ConstructConnect publishes Project Intelligence prices: Starter $129/mo per market, Professional from $199/mo per market, per seat (annual contract), Premium from $10,000/yr. Dodge does not publish prices; it says AI Search Assist is included in Dodge One at no additional cost.
Paraphrased from the sources listed above. Vendor claims are reported as claims.
What we can't tell you yet
Which tool is better for your work. That needs testing on the same package with a verified answer key. Planned measures for this comparison:
- Share of a contractor's past bid log that each database contained, and how early
- Relevance of AI search results against a hand-built filter for the same request
- Outside Means & Methods Lab's benchmark scope (the benchmark covers takeoff, drawing review, and contract & spec review).
