AI role (our label)AI features added to established productNot AI-first
What it doesSubcontractor and trade-package procurement software for main contractors, from tenders and AI bid leveling to contracts. Features listed: procurement schedule, scope-of-works library, tenders and price breakdowns, compare-and-recommend vendor selection, contracts with eSignature, vendor management, lessons learnt and analytics. AI modules listed are BidLevel (AI bid leveling that reads supplier quotes in PDF or Excel, builds a breakdown, and pulls out pricing, inclusions and exclusions with each value traceable to the source PDF; vendor says in as fast as 3 minutes), AI Pricing Library (AI search across historical quotes and trade packages, with project- and trade-level cost benchmarks; line-item rate comparison and AI package insights are marked "Coming soon" on the vendor page as of Oct 17, 2026), AI Pulse (procurement assistant) and AI Estimating Handover. BidLevel now also has its own site (bidlevel.ai), which lists a four-step flow (set breakdown, extract automatically, review & adjust with tracked changes, compare and export to Excel) and running counters of scope line items extracted and bids made comparable; page code projects them from a June 1, 2026 baseline (200,377 and 4,360) at a fixed daily rate (1,400 and 22 a day), so they are marketing figures, not measured totals (page code read Oct 17, 2026). BidLevel's FAQ says it is a first-pass tool that requires human judgement and that customer data is not used to train public AI models. Integrations listed include Procore, Aconex, DocuSign, Microsoft Entra, Power BI, Viewpoint Jobpac and Cheops. Vendor says it is trusted by contractors on $100+ billion in projects (vendor claim). Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: modules and integrations unchanged (BidLevel, AI Pulse, AI Pricing Library, AI Estimating Handover; Procore, Aconex, Viewpoint Jobpac, Cheops, DocuSign, Microsoft Entra). The AI Pricing Library page still marks line-item rate comparison and AI package insights as Coming soon. bidlevel.ai still shows the same counter values in its static page and now also cites a 95% positive rating across 250+ companies (vendor figure, not verified); its FAQ still calls BidLevel a first pass that needs human judgement and says customer data is not used to train public AI models. Re-checked Oct 21, 2026: modules and integrations unchanged (BidLevel, AI Pulse, AI Pricing Library, AI Estimating Handover; Procore, Aconex, DocuSign, Microsoft Entra, Viewpoint Jobpac, Cheops); the AI Pricing Library page still marks line-item rate comparison and AI package insights as Coming soon. bidlevel.ai still offers Try it free with no email or credit card and notes that its performance metrics come from internal benchmarking; its FAQ answers did not render in our read, so the credit details were not re-confirmed.Bid management inside the Procore platform for bid packages, invitations to bid, bid tracking and side-by-side bid leveling. Users create bid packages with project info, documents, drawings and specs pulled from Procore Project Management; send invitations to bid and monitor bid activity from one dashboard; compare bids side by side with bid leveling to identify gaps and outliers; standardized templates and centralized tracking. Vendor also lists trade-partner prequalification with what it calls subcontractor risk analysis, and converting bids to contracts that update the budget. The bid management page we read does not describe AI features in bid leveling itself; it links to Procore AI (agents) as a separate capability. Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: the bid management page still covers packages, invitations, tracking and side-by-side leveling, and still links to Procore AI agents as a separate capability; the pricing page still asks for an estimate on annual contracts with unlimited users and unlimited data and lists no dollar figures. Re-checked Oct 20, 2026: the bid management page is unchanged in substance (packages autopopulated from Procore Project Management, invitations, one-dashboard tracking, side-by-side leveling, trade partner qualification, conversion to subcontracts or purchase orders that update the budget) and still links to Procore AI agents as a separate capability. Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • What each does (vendor pages): ProcurePro's homepage describes centralised subcontractor procurement for main contractors and lists four AI modules: BidLevel, AI Pulse, AI Pricing Library and AI Estimating Handover. Procore's bid management page describes bid packages autopopulated with project info, documents, drawings and specs from Procore Project Management, invitations to bid, one dashboard for bid activity, side-by-side bid leveling to spot gaps and outliers, standardized templates, and converting the winning bid to a subcontract or purchase order that updates the Procore budget.
  • Leveling and AI: BidLevel's pages say it reads supplier quotes in PDF or Excel, fills in prices, inclusions and exclusions, lines vendors up side by side with each value traceable to the original PDF, and exports the comparison to Excel; the vendor says this can take as little as 3 minutes (vendor claim). BidLevel's FAQ says customer data is not used to train public AI models. Procore's bid management page does not describe AI in the leveling step itself; it links to Procore AI agents as a separate capability.
  • Prequalification and the rest of the platform: Procore's page lists trade partner qualification with what it calls subcontractor risk analysis, and estimate, bid, contract and financials in one system. ProcurePro's homepage covers procurement from tenders through contracts and lists integrations with Procore, Aconex, Viewpoint Jobpac, Cheops, DocuSign and Microsoft Entra, plus a blog post on using ProcurePro with Procore. We have not tested either integration or confirmed what data moves between the two.
  • Pricing (checked Oct 24, 2026): ProcurePro's pricing page says licences are tailored to usage and include all features and integrations, unlimited projects and unlimited users and a 90-day set-up, with Request pricing; BidLevel on its own site is free to try with no email or credit card and runs on credits, with 2 free credits for new accounts. Procore's pricing page says it charges an upfront annual fee by product based on Annual Construction Volume, with unlimited users and data; no dollar figures.
  • Not used here: ProcurePro's project-spend and project-value claims and BidLevel's customer quotes, and Procore's user count, third-party feature checklist and customer quote. Neither tool has been tested by Means & Methods Lab.

Good or bad, an honest review from an estimator, PM or super helps the next team more than another vendor demo. You post under a handle; your email is never shown.

Questions to ask in your review

  • Whether you want bidding to sit next to your Procore budget and commitments (Procore Bid Management) or a separate procurement platform with AI quote reading that connects to Procore (ProcurePro)
  • How awarded ProcurePro packages flow into Procore, and which fields sync
  • What either costs for your volume, since neither publishes figures
  • What did you use it for, on what kind of work and project size?
  • How long did setup and training take, and who on your team did it?
  • What does it cost you in practice, compared with what the sales call said?
