Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • Model: PlanHub describes an open marketplace where GCs reach new bidders and subcontractors can choose projects without an invitation; its FAQ says a GC decides for each project whether it goes only to its own network or to all matching subs. Pantera centres on the GC's own branded plan room and says your private subcontractor list is not added to its public directory.
  • Reaching subs: PlanHub's FAQ says it notified an average of 3,600 subcontractors per project, and its homepage cites 400,000+ subcontractors (vendor figures). Pantera says GCs can also reach 1.2 million subs, suppliers and manufacturers in 560 trade categories through its public directory and Blue Book Network integration (vendor figures, not verified).
  • Prequalification: PlanHub lists prequalification and a Prequalification Badge subs earn by uploading business documents. Pantera lists ProQual prequalification with due-diligence screening of subs and suppliers.
  • Beyond the bid: Pantera lists project management, document management and RFIs, job costing, a mobile app and QuickBooks, Sage 100 and Sage 300 integrations. PlanHub lists bid board and bid builder, market intelligence, planning-stage projects, takeoff and estimation, and Data & API.
  • AI: PlanHub's homepage says PlanHub AI ranks opportunities by trade, service area and relationships, answers project-specific questions with links to source pages in the bid documents, and matches subcontractors for bid coverage. The Pantera pages we read do not describe AI features.
  • Pricing (checked Oct 23, 2026): PlanHub's FAQ says it is 100% free for general contractors and charges subcontractors by company with unlimited users; Premier is $1,999, $2,349 or $3,299 a year for a 50, 100 or 200 mile radius, and Enterprise (national reach, teams of 3+ users) is by quote. Pantera publishes no prices, describes itself as budget-friendly and offers a demo on request.
  • Not used here: PlanHub's review-site ratings and badges, ROI calculator output, gift-card sign-up promotion and customer quotes; Pantera's customer testimonial and billions-bid-out claim; PlanHub's own Pantera comparison page.
