What it doesAutodesk bid management platform: find and qualify subs, send bid invitations, track responses, and compare bids. Autodesk says AI features are available in BuildingConnected Pro, Bid Board Pro, and TradeTapp, for example a Recommendation Engine that suggests bidders by location, trade expertise, and past performance; Bid Forwarding, which pulls key details from bid invitations received outside BuildingConnected into Bid Board; and TradeTapp Financial Data Extraction, which turns PDF financial statements into structured data. Autodesk notes some of its AI features do not use machine learning, and points to its Trust Center for which features use training data (re-checked Oct 16, 2026). Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: the product page still describes Recommendation Engine, Bid Forwarding and TradeTapp Financial Data Extraction under Autodesk AI, and the pricing page still offers Request a Quote with flexible user, project and account-based pricing. Re-checked Oct 21, 2026: unchanged in substance; the page now carries a banner saying Autodesk Construction Cloud is part of Autodesk Forma and product names have been updated. Flag: the product page says over 1,000,000 construction professionals in one line and 1.5M+ in another, and the pricing page says 1.5+ million builders; we use none of these network counts. Re-checked Oct 22, 2026: unchanged in substance; the Forma banner is still shown, the product family is still BuildingConnected Pro for GCs and owners, Bid Board Pro for subcontractors and TradeTapp for qualification, and the AI FAQ still describes Recommendation Engine, Bid Forwarding and TradeTapp Financial Data Extraction with the Trust Center note. The pages name Autodesk Docs and Autodesk Build Cost Management (turning winning bids into contracts) as integrations. Network and percentage figures and customer quotes on the pages are not used here. Re-checked Oct 23, 2026: product page and FAQ unchanged in substance (BuildingConnected Pro, Bid Board Pro and TradeTapp; AI features named as the Recommendation Engine, Bid Forwarding and TradeTapp Financial Data Extraction). Network size, project counts and customer percentages are vendor figures and not used. Re-checked Oct 24, 2026: product page and FAQ unchanged in substance (BuildingConnected Pro, Bid Board Pro and TradeTapp; AI features named as the Recommendation Engine, Bid Forwarding and TradeTapp Financial Data Extraction). The autodesk.com BuildingConnected Pro overview returned an access error (403) to our reader again. Network figures and customer quotes are not used. Re-checked Oct 25, 2026: product page unchanged in substance (BuildingConnected Pro for GCs and owners, Bid Board Pro for subcontractors, TradeTapp for qualification; the Autodesk Forma banner is still shown). The page gives two different network sizes (1,000,000+ and 1.5M+ professionals); we use neither. Re-checked Oct 27, 2026: product page unchanged in substance (BuildingConnected Pro, Bid Board Pro and TradeTapp; the pricing page still names the Recommendation Engine, Bid Forwarding and Financial Data Extraction; banner says Autodesk Construction Cloud is now part of Autodesk Forma). The pages we read do not describe AI features. Re-checked Oct 20, 2026: the homepage and bid management page are unchanged in substance (branded ITB, white-label plan room, ProQual, document management and RFIs, job costing, QuickBooks / Sage 100 / Sage 300 integrations); the bid management page also describes an address book that filters subs by trade, CSI code, state, city, county and radius and tracks union or non-union status, and says your private list is not added to the public directory. Still no AI described. Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • Invitations and sub lists: BuildingConnected Pro gives access to Autodesk's Builders Network, bid invitations and side-by-side bid comparison with performance metrics and historical cost tracking. Pantera sends custom-branded invitations to bid from a private address book you can filter by trade, CSI code, state, city, county or radius (with union or non-union status), and says your private list is never added to its public directory; it also partners with The Blue Book Network for finding subs.
  • Plan room and project side: Pantera's plan room is white-labeled with a login that matches your brand, and the same platform covers document management, RFIs, project notifications and job costing with QuickBooks and Sage 100 and 300 integrations. BuildingConnected focuses on bidding and connects to other Autodesk products (Autodesk Docs and Autodesk Build Cost Management for turning winning bids into contracts), which Autodesk now brands under Autodesk Forma.
  • Prequalification: TradeTapp is a separate Autodesk product with custom questionnaires, limit calculations and financial ratios, and shares risk information with BuildingConnected Pro. Pantera's ProQual is a service: its verifications team collects and verifies documents (bonding, reference letters, trade licenses, business registrations, minority certifications and financials), checks insurance coverage, re-verifies through the year and follows up with subs by phone and email.
  • Subcontractor side: Autodesk sells Bid Board Pro to subcontractors to track invitations from any source on one bid board. Pantera lets subs register, get prequalified with ProQual and manage all Pantera GCs from one account.
  • AI (our reading): BuildingConnected is tagged AI features added to an established product; Autodesk's FAQ names a Recommendation Engine that suggests bidders by location, trade expertise and past performance, Bid Forwarding that pulls details from outside invitations into Bid Board, and TradeTapp Financial Data Extraction from PDF financial statements, and says some of its AI features do not use machine learning. Pantera is tagged Not AI-first; the pages we read describe no AI features.
  • Pricing (checked Oct 27, 2026): neither publishes dollar prices. BuildingConnected Pro, Bid Board Pro and TradeTapp are each Request a Quote, with flexible user, project and account-based pricing and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Pantera offers Request Demo and calls itself budget-friendly. See each tool page for detail.
  • Not like-for-like: BuildingConnected is a dedicated bid and qualification product family inside a larger Autodesk platform; Pantera is a smaller all-in-one bid, prequalification and project management platform.
  • Not used here: Autodesk's network-size, bid-speed and win-rate claims, Pantera's subcontractor-directory count, and customer quotes on both sites (vendor material). Neither tool has been tested by Means & Methods Lab.
