BuildingConnected vs Pegbo

Two tools GC precon teams use to get subcontractors bidding, with different scope. BuildingConnected (Autodesk) is a bid management platform: find and qualify subs, send bid invitations, track responses and compare bids side by side, with TradeTapp for subcontractor qualification and Bid Board Pro for subs. Pegbo describes AI coworkers that find trade partners by scope, location, certifications and union status, run email and call outreach, coordinate pre-bid calls, collect documents, track bid coverage by package and surface license and OSHA risk signals. Partly like-for-like (our reading): both help fill bid lists; BuildingConnected is where invites, bids and leveling live, while Pegbo automates sourcing and follow-up and says it integrates with BuildingConnected and Procore. Desk research from vendor sites read Nov 5, 2026; no winner.

Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • Who it is for: BuildingConnected Pro is for general contractors and owners; Bid Board Pro is for subcontractors managing invitations they receive; TradeTapp handles qualification. Pegbo names GC precon teams, and its pricing page is aimed at trade partners who list their businesses on Pegbo.
  • Finding and inviting subs: Autodesk describes finding subcontractors on its crowd-sourced network, a Recommendation Engine that suggests bidders by location, trade expertise and past performance, unlimited bid invites and projects, custom bid forms, and tracking invites, projects and due dates across the office. Pegbo says its AI coworkers identify trade partners, build targeted invite lists, run outreach, handle call and email coordination for pre-bid calls, automate follow-ups and track coverage per bid package; its product preview shows a trade partner marked Invited to BC.
  • Qualification and risk: BuildingConnected pairs bid management with TradeTapp for subcontractor financial and safety risk, including TradeTapp Financial Data Extraction from PDF financial statements. Pegbo says it surfaces license and certification status, OSHA violations and other risk indicators with continuous verification, and its product preview shows diversity tags (DVBE, SB, MBE).
  • Comparing bids: BuildingConnected Pro lists side-by-side bid leveling and cost comparison. Pegbo's product menu shows Leveling, Risks and Spend tabs, but the pages we read do not describe a leveling workflow, so ask the vendor to show it.
  • AI labels: BuildingConnected is tagged AI features added to established product; Autodesk notes some of its AI features do not use machine learning. Pegbo is tagged AI-first.
  • Pricing (read Nov 5, 2026): BuildingConnected publishes no figures; the pricing page offers Request a Quote for BuildingConnected Pro, Bid Board Pro and TradeTapp with user, project or account-based pricing and a money-back guarantee. Questions to ask in your review

  • Whether you need a full bid management and leveling system, or help sourcing and chasing subs to raise coverage on the system you already use
  • How Pegbo's BuildingConnected integration works in practice (what syncs, and in which direction), if you would run both
  • What each costs for a GC team once you get a quote
  • What did you use it for, on what kind of work and project size?
  • How long did setup and training take, and who on your team did it?
  • What does it cost you in practice, compared with what the sales call said?
