SmartBid vs PlanHub

Two ways a general contractor can send invitations to bid and collect sub proposals. SmartBid, now part of ConstructConnect, is licensed bid management software for a GC's own private subcontractor database, plan room, prequalification and side-by-side bid tabs; PlanHub is an open commercial bidding marketplace where GCs post projects free, subcontractors and suppliers find work, and PlanHub AI ranks opportunities and answers questions about bid documents. Partly like-for-like: both handle ITBs, plan rooms and prequalification, but SmartBid is a GC's private system and PlanHub is a marketplace that charges subcontractors. Desk research from vendor sites read Oct 30, 2026; no winner.
