| Sheet row | DESTINI Estimator (Beck Technology) | Ediphi |
|---|---|---|
| Category | Estimating & takeoff | Cloud estimating & cost modeling |
| AI role (our label) | AI features added to established product | Not AI-first |
| What it does | Estimating platform with connected quantities, assemblies, centralized cost history, alternates, BIM/model-based insights, dashboards, multi-user estimates, and audit trail. Adds AI-assisted takeoff that detects, counts, measures, and organizes drawing information into reviewable quantities. Bid leveling via DESTINI Bid Day. Vendor claims 10X faster bids and estimates in half the time (vendor claims, not verified). | Cloud preconstruction platform for cost modeling, estimating (templates and programmatic automation), GCs & GRs, and contracting (bid packages from estimates, bid leveling, buyout). Unit Price Catalog builds historical cost data from your estimates; open API and an Excel add-in for owner bid forms and reports. The homepage does not describe AI features (its blog discusses AI and cost tracking), so we tag it Not AI-first. Customer quotes include a 1,900% ROI figure from Suffolk (customer claim, not verified). |
| Who it's for | Preconstruction and estimating teams (reviews quoted from directors of preconstruction and senior estimators). | General contractors' preconstruction and estimating teams (customers quoted include Hensel Phelps, DPR, and Suffolk). |

Where the vendor descriptions differ
- Cost history: DESTINI describes centralized cost history, assemblies, and estimates built from connected quantities. Ediphi describes a Unit Price Catalog that captures historical and benchmarked data from estimates for cost modeling.
- Takeoff: DESTINI lists AI-assisted takeoff that detects, counts, measures, and organizes drawing information into reviewable quantities, plus BIM/model-based insights. Ediphi's homepage mentions storing quantity takeoffs for programmed units but does not describe AI takeoff.
- Bid day: DESTINI Bid Day handles subcontractor bid leveling. Ediphi describes generating bid packages from estimates, bid leveling, and buyout.
- Integration: Ediphi lists an open API and an Excel add-in for owner bid forms. DESTINI lists integrations for 2D/3D takeoff and reporting without naming them on the page we checked.
- Claims: DESTINI claims 10X faster bids. Ediphi quotes a customer's 1,900% ROI figure. Neither has been tested by Means & Methods Lab. Pricing: neither publishes prices.

What we can't tell you yet
Which tool is better for your work. That needs testing on the same package with a verified answer key. Planned measures for this comparison:
- Hours to build the same conceptual estimate from a historical database
- Quantity accuracy of DESTINI's AI takeoff on a test sheet
