What it doesMeasure, design and estimate platform for exterior and interior home improvement and insurance work. A contractor, adjuster or invited homeowner takes photos in the Hover app (its help center, updated Feb 20, 2026, says 8 photos, one of each side and corner, with more allowed) and Hover returns a 3D model and measurements for roof, siding, gutters, windows and openings, or roof only; interior scans and blueprint uploads are also offered. Hover's product page calls the photo-to-model step "patented technology" and does not describe it as AI. Its GenAI disclosure (updated Feb 10, 2026) says Hover uses generative AI in select offerings, for example to generate exterior and interior visual designs in Instant Design, combining custom models with pre-trained public ones (it names Stable Diffusion, Realistic Vision, Metric3D, OneFormer, MLSD and NormalBAE) and a dataset of user-submitted images paired with structural annotations such as ridge lines and eaves. Pages read Oct 18, 2026 also list Estimates, Agreements, CRM integrations, an API, Verisk and Cotality estimatics integrations, and for insurers damage assessment and Xactimate-ready scope of loss (Enterprise, contact sales). The homepage cites more than 3.5 billion aerial images, 1-inch accuracy, 98%+ accuracy on property measurements and 20 of the top 20 insurers as customers (vendor claims, not verified by us). Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • Capture: Hover's help center says 8 photos in its app, one of each side and corner, taken by the contractor, adjuster or an invited homeowner; blueprint upload is also offered. Eagleview reports come from its aerial imagery (the homepage cites more than 3.5 billion images), so nobody needs to visit the property.
  • Outputs: Hover returns a 3D model with roof, siding, gutter, window and opening measurements, plus interior scans, design, estimates and agreements. Eagleview lists Bid Perfect preliminary roof data, Premium Roof, Walls, Walls Windows & Doors and Full House reports, ESX files for Xactimate and an interactive 3D property viewer in Eagleview One.
  • Where the AI is: Hover's GenAI disclosure says generative AI is used, in part, for Instant Design visuals; its product page calls the photo-to-model step patented technology. Eagleview says Eagleview One's roof and exterior data are powered by advanced machine learning, and describes Horizon (coming soon) as an agentic AI system for natural-language property questions.
  • Insurance: both serve carriers and adjusters. Hover lists Verisk and Cotality estimatics integrations and, on Enterprise, damage assessment and Xactimate-ready scope of loss; Eagleview says 20 of the top 20 insurers rely on it (vendor claim).
  • Pricing: Hover publishes per-scan rates (full exterior $59 to $139 on Starter by facet count; $79 flat on the $2,999-a-year Business plan) and a $999-a-year Pro plan. Eagleview lists Bid Perfect at $18 but no figures for its other reports or the Eagleview One subscription on the pages we read. Not like-for-like: different deliverables.
