Procore AI vs Datagrid

Two AI agent offerings from the same company: Procore AI runs agents inside the Procore construction management platform, and Datagrid, whose site now reads a Procore company, sells AI agents that connect across your systems and project files. Both list Deep Search, RFI, Submittal Review and Daily Log agents with people approving the output. Close but not identical (our reading): Procore AI works on records already in Procore and creates or updates Procore items, while Datagrid connects many systems and publishes a self-serve credit plan with a free tier. Desk research from vendor sites read Oct 31, 2026; no winner.

What it doesAI layer and agents inside Procore that create or update records such as RFIs and daily logs, with citations and sign-off before acting. It sits inside the Procore construction management platform. Vendor says agents execute workflows in Procore through over 150 built-in actions that create or update records such as RFIs, change events, daily logs and action plans; agents can be triggered by project events or run on a recurring schedule; answers carry numbered citations to source files; permissions follow existing Procore roles; and agents never take action without sign-off. Procore describes a proprietary construction reasoning model, Magpie, trained on industry data, and says customer data is never used to train models like ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. Starter Pack agents listed: Deep Search, RFI (drafts RFIs from project context), Submittal Review (cross-checks submittals against the spec book), Daily Log and Contract Review (flags scope gaps or risk). The plan lists also show agentic memory, a voice agent, PDF, image and file support, a credit and activity dashboard and 15-minute data sync; Pro adds video intelligence and scheduled automations. Customer figures (e.g. submittal review cycle times), data-volume figures and customer quotes are vendor claims not used here.AI agents that connect systems, interpret project files and complete workflows such as submittals, RFIs and spec review; voice lookup answers questions out loud from Procore, Primavera and other connected systems. The site footer reads "Datagrid, a Procore company"; Groundbreak speaker pages list it as "Datagrid AI from Procore". The agents page lists 18 pre-built agents, including Deep Search, Fast Search, Submittal Review, Document Comparison, Submittal-Builder, Summary Spec Submittal, Scope Checker, RFI, Daily Log (raw field notes mapped to Procore daily log types), Change Order, Change Analysis, Audit, Contract Review, Pre-Qualification, Site Safety, SOP, Mentor and a Single Line Drawings Expert Agent (extracting and structuring electrical system data from single-line drawings into validated tables). The homepage says customer data is never used for model training and lists SOC 2 (vendor statements). Output multiples, percentages and customer quotes are vendor claims and are not used.

Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • Agents named: Procore lists five Starter Pack agents (Deep Search, RFI, Submittal Review, Daily Log and Contract Review), 20 agents on Pro and 20+ with custom agents built in Agent Studio on Enterprise. Datagrid's homepage features a Deep Search Agent (answers across specs, drawings, RFIs and submittals with citations), a Submittal Review Agent (cross-checks submittals against specs and contracts), an RFI Agent (drafts pre-populated RFIs for review) and a Daily Log Agent (turns field photos, emails, video and voice into daily logs) (vendor statements).
  • Where it runs: Procore says its agents work on information already in Procore, honor existing Procore permissions, and take built-in actions that create or update Procore records after sign-off. Datagrid says it connects the tools you already use and keeps them in sync, with integration packs of Basic, Core (50+ connectors) and Expanded (100+ connectors including ERP and financials), plus Slack, Teams and SMS on paid plans (vendor statements).
  • Ownership: Datagrid's footer reads Datagrid, a Procore company, and its blog describes the Datagrid and Procore merger. We have not seen either vendor say how the two products will be combined or sold together; confirm with the vendor.
  • Data handling (vendor statements): Datagrid says customer data stays private and is never used for model training, and lists SOC 2, role-based access and audit trails. Procore describes its Magpie reasoning model and models from Anthropic and Google on Starter, adding OpenAI on Pro and Enterprise, with numbered citations to source files.
  • AI (our reading): Datagrid is AI-first; Procore AI is an AI add-on to the Procore platform.
  • Pricing (checked Oct 31, 2026): Procore AI publishes no dollar figures; it says it does not charge per seat, the Starter Pack is a 6-month flat-rate term for up to 3 projects and 5 agents, and Pro and Enterprise are 12-month terms with credit usage-based pricing, all via Request a demo. Datagrid lists Free ($0), Pro ($90 a month with 1,000 credits) and custom Enterprise with premium credits, unlimited users on all plans, and sync daily, hourly or every 15 minutes by plan.
  • Not used here: Datagrid's submittal, bid, spec-review and admin-time percentage and hours claims and customer quotes, and Procore's customer quotes (vendor material). Facts for both tools come from vendor websites (desk research).

Questions to ask in your review

  • Whether your documents and records live mainly in Procore or across several systems
  • How many Datagrid credits, or how much Procore credit usage, a typical submittal or RFI workflow uses on a real project
  • How the two products will be positioned or bundled now that Datagrid is part of Procore
  • What did you use it for, on what kind of work and project size?
  • How long did setup and training take, and who on your team did it?
  • What does it cost you in practice, compared with what the sales call said?
