Where the vendor descriptions differ
- What each sells (vendor wording): iFieldSmart AI says it connects drawings, BIM, specifications, RFIs, submittals and project systems with AI workflows and construction expertise. Its skills page lists Scope of Work, Scope Gap, Project Q&A with source references, Submittal Log (from your spec book), Submittal Compliance, Constructability Review, Construction Email AI, Meeting AI, Change Management (drawing revision comparison with revision clouds) and a Custom AI Workflow Builder. CONXAI calls itself AI that understands construction and offers two named solutions: DocNostic for document-heavy workflows and SiteLens for jobsite photos and video, on a platform it describes as a hierarchical multi-agent system.
- Documents: CONXAI says DocNostic extracts information from unstructured documents using a construction ontology, reasons across spec sheets, drawings, RFPs and submittals, and adapts to new document types without code; its Hensel Phelps case study describes extracting finishes, manufacturers and model types from PDF scoping documents and comparing them with contract documents. iFieldSmart AI's example workflow cross-checks a door schedule against the spec, drafts an RFI with references and routes it to Procore, SharePoint, Autodesk or email.
- Who checks the output: iFieldSmart AI says that for applicable workflows construction subject matter experts review, validate and refine AI findings before delivery ("AI-Assisted. SME-Verified."). CONXAI says results are accurate AI results that you guardrail and can refine, with task-based explainability, and that its platform learns from user feedback. Ask each which outputs a person signs off and who that person is.
- Photos and the field: only CONXAI covers jobsite imagery here. SiteLens analyzes photos and video from cameras, drones and phones into reports on site conditions, labour, equipment and activities, Lean metrics such as line of balance, and searchable media; it says worker identities are masked, with adjustable blurring and exclusion zones. iFieldSmart AI's pages center on drawings, specs, submittals, meetings and email.
- Integrations, security and buying: iFieldSmart AI names Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, SharePoint, Box, Google Drive and Dropbox and says it builds custom integrations; it states SOC 2 Type II and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and no model training on customer data. CONXAI says you can use its dashboards or its APIs, start with one use case and add more, and states ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II and GDPR. Neither publishes prices. iFieldSmart AI's skills are marked Live and its Try it now form says the product is launching soon with a waitlist; CONXAI routes to a demo. Not used here: CONXAI's 70% time figure and case-study percentages; iFieldSmart AI's industry statistics.

What we can't tell you yet
Which tool is better for your work. That needs testing on the same package with a verified answer key. Planned measures for this comparison:
- Which iFieldSmart AI skills are generally available today versus waitlist, and how long the expert review adds
- How much configuration CONXAI needs before DocNostic handles your document types
- What each costs per project or per workflow; neither publishes prices
