Newforma vs ProjectReady
Two Groundbreak 2026 Silver sponsors that keep AEC project information consistent across email, file stores and project platforms. Not like-for-like (our reading): Newforma is a project information management system that becomes the record for email, files, RFIs, submittals and model issues, while ProjectReady syncs, provisions and backs up data across Autodesk, Procore and Microsoft 365 without becoming the record. Vendor pages re-read Oct 18, 2026; desk research, not tested, no winner.
In short: Newforma (Project information management; no public prices (quote / sales)) vs ProjectReady (AEC data sync & governance; no public prices (quote / sales)). Facts last checked Oct 18, 2026. No winner declared; not tested.

It sells Newforma Konekt (cloud) and Newforma Project Center (server-based, on premises). Re-read Oct 18, 2026: Konekt files email from an Outlook add-in into the project record (including as an issue, RFI or submittal), manages RFIs, submittals and contract changes, views 2D and 3D models with issues and punch lists, and indexes content for Deep Search; its packages page lists connectors for Autodesk Forma Data Management, SharePoint, Egnyte, Nasuni, Panzura, Power BI, IMAGINiT Clarity, Procore RFIs and submittals and many BIM tools, plus ISO 27001, SOC 2 and US, Canada or Europe hosting. A May 2026 Newforma blog post says AI Smart Email Filing is deployed today, Smart Search and the Vojo assistant are in development, and MCP servers and bring-your-own-LLM support are being built; the packages page lists AI Assist as coming soon. We changed the label from Not AI-first to AI features added on Oct 18, 2026. | Syncs and governs project data across Autodesk Forma (ACC), Procore, Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, HCSS, Egnyte and Box. A March 2026 press release says WorkBridge achieved SOC 2 Type II. Re-read Oct 18, 2026: the WorkBridge page says no data at rest, permissions governed by your existing settings and a full record of what moved, and the FAQ says ProjectReady does not license other systems for you and your data stays in your systems if you stop. Where the vendor descriptions differ
- Starting point (vendor wording): Newforma says it connects project data across the tools AECO teams use into a complete, connected project record without ripping out existing systems. It sells Newforma Konekt (cloud) and Newforma Project Center (server-based, on premises; Standard, Contract Management and Enterprise editions). ProjectReady sells WorkBridge, which syncs, transfers and migrates documents, issues, photos, sheets, forms and RFI and submittal workflows across Autodesk, Procore and SharePoint, and ProjectReady Central, which provisions SharePoint sites, Teams channels and Autodesk or Procore projects with consistent metadata and role-based permissions.
- Email, RFIs and submittals: Newforma Konekt files email into the project record from an Outlook add-in, can file an email as an issue, RFI or submittal, and lists RFI, submittal and contract change management, 2D/3D model viewing with issues and punch lists, and Deep Search across indexed content; its packages page lists a Procore RFI and submittal connector. ProjectReady handles email in project context through its Microsoft 365 integration and DCNext document control, and WorkBridge keeps RFI and submittal workflows aligned across Autodesk and Procore, launches Bluebeam sessions on Autodesk or Procore content and moves HCSS estimate folders into BuildingConnected bid packages.
- Where the data lives: ProjectReady's FAQ says it uses your existing systems and does not license them for you, so your data stays with you if you stop; the WorkBridge page says no data at rest, permissions governed by your existing settings and a full record of what moved. ProjectReady Central also runs a continuous Microsoft 365 SharePoint backup of Autodesk and Procore documents, drawings and RFI and submittal attachments. Newforma's Konekt packages page lists 500 GB storage per seat, region selection (US, Canada, Europe), SSO with Microsoft, ISO 27001 and SOC 2, and base connectors including Outlook, Teams, Autodesk Forma Data Management, Egnyte, Nasuni, Panzura, Power BI and IMAGINiT Clarity, plus BIM connectors such as Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Tekla and Archicad. A March 2026 ProjectReady press release says WorkBridge achieved SOC 2 Type II.
- AI: Newforma's May 2026 blog says Smart Email Filing, which uses AI to suggest or execute the filing destination for project email, is deployed today, while Smart Search and the Vojo conversational assistant are in active development, specialized agents for submittals, RFIs and BIM coordination are on the roadmap, and MCP servers and bring-your-own-LLM support are being developed; it says customer data is not used to train shared models, and its Konekt packages page lists AI Assist as coming soon. We changed Newforma's label from Not AI-first to AI features added on Oct 18, 2026. ProjectReady's product pages do not describe AI features, so it stays Not AI-first.
- Pricing: neither publishes prices. Newforma's Konekt and Project Center packages pages compare features with no prices and route to a demo. ProjectReady has no pricing page (/pricing returns a not-found page); its FAQ says getting started begins with a sales demonstration and teams can start using it in as few as two weeks. Not used here: Newforma's customer time and cost savings figures, ROI calculator, review badges and customer quotes; ProjectReady's security time-saving percentage, storage-cost figure and customer quotes.

What we can't tell you yet
Which tool is better for your work. That needs testing on the same package with a verified answer key. Planned measures for this comparison:
- Whether you want a new project record (Newforma) or a sync and governance layer over the platforms you already run (ProjectReady)
- When Newforma's Vojo assistant and Smart Search ship and which Konekt package includes AI features
- What either costs for your project and user count; neither publishes prices
