Marapone SpecChecker vs Helonic

Two tools that read the project manual against the drawings and flag conflicts. SpecChecker is a self-serve program in Marapone's suite with published CAD pricing and says rules find the conflicts while its model explains them; Helonic is sales-led AI spec analysis with custom tiers. Vendor-published facts only.

What it doesOne of eight programs in Marapone's browser-based construction AI suite (alongside Blueprint Auditor, AI Estimator, ScopeGuard, Bid Leveler and others). SpecChecker reads the project manual, drawing sets, addenda and scanned PDFs (PDF, Word, Excel or scans, with Marapone's own OCR), works out which file is the manual and which are drawings, and reports every place they disagree. Outputs the vendor lists: a dashboard of which packages are safe to order and which to hold, a conflict matrix (spec value and clause, drawing value and sheet, severity, recommended action), a coverage view of which sections and sheets were actually compared, and drafted RFIs, one per section, quoting both documents. Vendor counts 11 conflict types, 27 measurable properties, 39 named assemblies and 25 CSI divisions with 47 sections mapped. Notable caveats on the vendor's own page: conflicts come from rules and the model only explains them ("the model never finds"); it compares properties as written, not measured off line work; it does not decide which document governs; and findings marked as noise stay suppressed. Vendor says files are processed on Marapone's own infrastructure by its own model, with no third-party AI vendor in the path and nothing uploaded used for training.AI construction drawing analysis platform whose spec-analysis feature reads the full project manual (CSI MasterFormat Divisions 00-49, also the older 16-division format and SectionFormat 3-part specs, including MasterSpec and SpecLink-based books) alongside the drawing set and flags spec-vs-drawing conflicts: material mismatches, finish and hardware schedule vs spec section discrepancies, equipment vs performance specs, items specified but not drawn and drawn but not specified, fire-rating and acoustic mismatches, referenced sections or standards that do not exist, Division 01 requirements not reflected on the drawings, and incomplete submittal requirements. Each finding cites the spec section and sheet with a severity rating (vendor description). The vendor's FAQ says the AI flags candidate issues and the spec writer decides; it describes the AI as strongest on quantitative cross-references and weakest on intent. Pricing page lists Procore integration that pushes issues as RFIs, custom checklists and on-premise deployment on higher tiers. The spec page's spec-writer anecdote is labeled by Helonic as synthesized from interviews, so we do not treat it as a customer quote. Vendor says it is backed by Y Combinator.
Who it's forGeneral contractors, estimators and buyers checking the spec book against the drawings before ordering material or bidding (vendor framing).Spec writers, owner's reps, preconstruction estimators and plan reviewers (vendor wording); GCs and engineering firms on the Professional tier.
