Constrafor vs Veriforce
Two ways a general contractor screens subcontractors before and during work. Constrafor is a construction-first risk platform for GCs that combines prequalification, certificate-of-insurance review with its Insurance CoPilot AI assistant, contracts, invoices and payments, with fixed annual platform pricing. Veriforce is a cross-industry contractor management network where hiring clients set requirements and contractors join, with Subcontractor Scoring, predictive safety risk ranking, training and operator qualification. Desk research from vendor pages read Oct 27, 2026; not tested, no winner.
In short: Constrafor (Subcontract risk, prequal & COI management; vendor publishes prices) vs Veriforce (Contractor prequalification & supply-chain safety compliance; no public prices (quote / sales)). Facts last checked Oct 28, 2026. No winner declared; not tested.

| What it does | Construction risk management software for GCs (subcontracts, sub prequalification, insurance certificates) plus invoice financing for subs. For general contractors it covers subcontract management, subcontractor onboarding and prequalification, and certificate-of-insurance tracking; growth solutions for subcontractors include cash-flow reports and invoice financing. Its COI page introduces Insurance CoPilot, described as an AI risk assistant with ChatGPT built in, alongside COI request, tracking and review workflows, an endorsements view, automated reminders and expiration alerts, and integrations that import project details from Procore, Autodesk, Sage, Vista, CMiC and others. The COI FAQ says it supports OCIPs and CCIPs, tier-2 subcontractor COIs, and review by your broker or audit team; Constrafor also offers to act as an extension of your risk team. Its prequalification page describes a single master form subs fill once and GCs can customize, free for subcontractors, and says continuous monitoring reduces the risk of subcontractor default and leads to lower insurance premiums (vendor claims). Retagged from Not AI-first on Oct 16, 2026 because of Insurance CoPilot; the pages we read do not detail what the CoPilot does. Re-read Oct 17, 2026: the COI page still introduces Insurance CoPilot as an AI risk assistant for insurance-document review with "ChatGPT Built-in", still lists Procore, Autodesk, Sage, Vista and CMiC imports, and now shows "Start Free Trial" buttons; the prequalification page still says it is free for subcontractors. The homepage copy still does not describe AI features, though its meta description says "AI Risk Management". Constrafor also sells Cru, which it calls an AI financial OS for subcontractors, with bookkeeping, bills, cash-forecasting, job-costing, materials and COI agents, and says every agent action is approved by the customer's team before it is final (vendor claims, read Oct 17, 2026); Cru's site cites 78,000+ subcontractors in the Constrafor network, while the Constrafor homepage cites a 40,000+ contractor network. Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: the Constrafor homepage, COI page (Insurance CoPilot, ChatGPT Built-in, Start Free Trial) and prequalification page (free for subcontractors) are unchanged; the homepage still cites a 40,000+ contractor network, 7,000+ projects managed and $2 billion+ invoices financed (vendor figures). Cru's site now also lists Early Pay, a Cru Card powered by Ramp, read-only connections to QuickBooks, Sage or Foundation, SOC 2 certification and a 1-month free trial, still with every agent action approved by the customer's team (vendor statements). Re-checked Oct 21, 2026: homepage unchanged in substance (risk management software for GCs; Early Pay invoice financing, cash-flow tools and Cru for subcontractors; explore the platform for free). Its counters and customer quotes are vendor content and not used. Re-checked Oct 25, 2026: homepage, COI, prequalification and Early Pay pages unchanged in substance (risk management suite for GCs and growth solutions for subcontractors; Insurance CoPilot AI risk assistant for COI review, with OCIP/CCIP and tier-2 subcontractor support and Procore, Autodesk, Sage, Vista and CMiC integrations listed; a single master prequalification form, free for subcontractors). The COI page now embeds an interactive sample of its COI tracking dashboard. Customer quotes and award mentions are vendor content and are not used. Re-checked Oct 26, 2026: homepage unchanged in substance (risk management suite for GCs and growth solutions for subcontractors); the Cru homepage and pricing page are unchanged (subcontractor AI agents for bills, compliance and job costing; Early Pay; surety bonds and P&C insurance marked coming soon). The Cru pricing FAQ still contains template placeholder questions. Customer quotes and network counters are vendor content and are not used. Re-checked Oct 27, 2026: homepage, prequalification and COI pages unchanged in substance (GC risk management: prequalification with one master form free for subs, AI-enabled insurance review with Insurance CoPilot, contract, invoice and payment management, diversity tracking); Cru homepage unchanged. Customer quotes and network counters are vendor content and are not used. | Cross-industry contractor management and supply-chain risk network (vendor wording) for prequalification, safety compliance, worker-level compliance and training. Hiring clients set requirements and contractors and suppliers join the Veriforce Network to get qualified and connected; construction is one of a dozen industries on its site, alongside oil and gas, utilities, chemicals, mining, manufacturing and others, so it is not construction-specific. Its contractor management page (read Oct 24, 2026) lists prequalifying contractors against a company's requirements and accreditation standards such as SSIP, PAS 91, the Common Assessment Standard and ISO 45001; onboarding where its team verifies contractor documentation and delivers orientations and training; dashboards, incident visibility, worksite access and worker compliance requirements, and worksite documents such as policies, safety inspections and work audits; job performance ratings, vendor evaluations and aggregate supply-chain reporting; and a predictive safety tool that ranks contractors as standard, elevated or high-risk potential from leading indicators (vendor calls it the industry's first). Its subcontractor management page describes a Subcontractor Scoring feature (you choose criteria such as safety rates and training, it calculates a weighted real-time score per subcontractor and alerts when a score drops below your threshold), predictive modeling it says uses machine learning and predictive analytics to flag elevated or high-risk subcontractors, expiry alerts for subcontractor insurance and certifications, and insurance verification. Its worksite management page describes pre-screening individual workers before site access, a red or green status on a digital ID, drug and alcohol testing, training and qualification checks, and a safety-culture survey based on the NOSACQ-50 framework. Other modules on the site: learning management with instructor-led and on-demand training, Operator Qualification (OQ) for U.S. DOT-regulated pipeline work, expert services (auditing, verification, consulting), ESG, and the Veriforce HUB partner marketplace of insurance and safety discounts for network members. The contractor management page says Veriforce does not just rely on AI for work that needs human expertise; the pages we read describe machine-learning risk prediction, not generative AI. Integrations: a Sept 14, 2026 press release announces a Creditsafe integration that brings company financial-health data into Veriforce Compliance Pro, a VeriforceOne mobile app for iOS and Android (search contractors, review compliance status, documents and dashboards), and process automation for client-specific compliance workflows in Compliance Pro; the contractor management page also lists custom configuration and integrations without naming systems. Veriforce announced on Oct 22, 2025 that it had acquired Highwire, the construction-focused prequalification and contractor risk vendor (see our Highwire listing). Network counters vary across its own pages (140,000+ contractors on the homepage, more than 80,000 vetted contractors on the construction page, 130,000 and 150,000 in two press releases; 3,200 hiring clients; 140+ countries), and figures such as a 30% reduction in contractor incident rates are vendor claims; we do not use them. Re-read Oct 26, 2026 for a compare: homepage, contractor management and construction pages unchanged in substance (Prequalify, Onboard, Control and Evaluate; predictive safety tool ranking contractors as standard, elevated or high-risk potential; accreditation standards such as SSIP, PAS 91, the Common Assessment Standard and ISO 45001; training, OQ, worksite and subcontractor management, ESG and expert services). Network counters still vary across its pages and are not used. Re-checked Oct 27, 2026: homepage, construction, contractors and subcontractor management pages unchanged in substance (hiring-client contractor management across multiple industries including construction; Subcontractor Scoring with weighted real-time scores and threshold alerts; Compliance Pro, ComplyWorks, VeriSource and CHAS contractor subscriptions; VeriforceONE platform). Network counters, NPS and percentage figures are vendor claims and are not used. |
| Who it's for | General contractors' risk, insurance and operations teams; subcontractors (prequal is free for subs; growth and financing products for subs). | Hiring clients (safety, operations and procurement teams at owners and operators in high-hazard industries, including construction) and the contractors, subcontractors and suppliers who must meet their requirements; prime contractors can also bring their own subcontractors into Veriforce (vendor wording). |
| Pricing (as publicly stated) | GC risk-management software: fixed annual platform prices published since Oct 26, 2026 (see the Oct 26 and Oct 27 updates below); at earlier checks not publicly listed (talk-to-an-expert form; prequalification is free for subcontractors per vendor). (Checked Oct 16, 2026.) Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: the GC software is still quote-only, but the subcontractor Financing Pricing page publishes Early Pay rates. Blue: 0.4% weekly fee plus a 1.00% upfront platform fee on the advanced amount, no subscription. Gold: 0.35% weekly plus 0.75%, $1,750 a month ($16,800 a year). Platinum: 0.33% weekly plus 0.50%, $3,500 a month ($33,600 a year). The page lists Gold for funding needs up to $500K and Platinum up to $1M, a $100 minimum platform fee per transaction, and further platform fees when a GC payment arrives more than 15 days late and from the 60th day after the expected date. Only GC-approved invoices on active jobs qualify, and the page says funds arrive within 48 hours. Cru offered a 1-month free trial without listing a price at that check (it now lists $500 a month; see Oct 22 update). Re-checked Oct 21, 2026: Early Pay rates unchanged (Blue 0.4% weekly plus 1.00% upfront, no subscription; Gold 0.35% plus 0.75%, $1,750 a month or $16,800 a year; Platinum 0.33% plus 0.50%, $3,500 a month or $33,600 a year; funds within 48 hours). The FAQ answers did not expand in our read, so the $100 minimum and late-payment fees were not re-confirmed. Re-checked Oct 22, 2026: Early Pay rates unchanged (Blue 0.4% weekly plus 1.00% upfront, no subscription; Gold 0.35% plus 0.75% at $1,750 a month or $16,800 a year; Platinum 0.33% plus 0.50% at $3,500 a month or $33,600 a year). New since our last read: Cru now publishes a price. Its pricing page lists one AI + Dashboard plan at $500 a month, which includes $500 in Cru credits that the agents draw from as they work, every agent, unlimited team members and white-glove support; credits can be topped up at any time, the first month is free, and it is month-to-month with no setup fee. An optional Professional Services add-on (CPA or CFA advisory) is $250 an hour. Cru's menu also lists Early Pay (Cru says get paid in 24 hours; Constrafor's Early Pay page says within 48 hours) and surety bonds and P&C insurance marked coming soon. The GC risk-management software is still quote-only. Re-checked Oct 23, 2026: Early Pay rates unchanged (Blue 0.4% weekly plus 1.00% upfront, no subscription; Gold 0.35% plus 0.75% at $1,750 a month or $16,800 a year; Platinum 0.33% plus 0.50% at $3,500 a month or $33,600 a year). The FAQ expanded in this read and re-confirms a $100 minimum Platform Fee on every transaction, that payments arriving more than 15 days after the expected date are treated as new transactions with a new Platform Fee, and that further Platform Fees apply on the 60th day after the expected date and every 45 days after that. Cru still lists one AI + Dashboard plan at $500 a month with $500 in credits, first month free, and a $250-an-hour Professional Services add-on. Re-checked Oct 25, 2026: Early Pay rates unchanged (from 0.4% per week; Blue 0.4% weekly plus 1.00% upfront; Gold 0.35% plus 0.75% at $1,750 a month or $16,800 a year; Platinum 0.33% plus 0.50% at $3,500 a month or $33,600 a year). Cru unchanged ($500 a month with $500 in credits, first month free, $250-an-hour Professional Services add-on, no setup fee). Update, Oct 26, 2026 (first read of constrafor.com/pricing): the Platform Pricing page lists fixed annual prices for its GC platform, with unlimited users and subcontractors and onboarding support: $13,500 per year for mid-size firms under $500M in ACV, $25,000 for $500M to $1B, $40,000 for $1B to $3B, and custom pricing above $3B (the page labels only the first tier per year); additional solutions are discounted when bundled (vendor-published, not verified). Early Pay rates and Cru pricing unchanged (Early Pay from 0.4% per week; Cru $500 a month with $500 in credits, first month free, $250-an-hour Professional Services add-on, no setup fee). Re-checked Oct 27, 2026: unchanged (GC platform $13,500 a year under $500M ACV, $25,000 for $500M to $1B, $40,000 for $1B to $3B, custom above $3B; Early Pay from 0.4% per week, Gold $1,750 a month or $16,800 a year, Platinum $3,500 a month or $33,600 a year; Cru $500 a month with $500 in credits, first month free, $250-an-hour Professional Services add-on). Re-checked Oct 28, 2026: GC platform prices unchanged ($13,500 a year under $500M ACV, $25,000 for $500M to $1B, $40,000 for $1B to $3B, custom above $3B; unlimited users and subcontractors; bundle discounts); the COI page still describes Insurance CoPilot with ChatGPT built in. | Not publicly listed (checked Oct 24, 2026; veriforce.com/pricing returns a not-found page and the site offers Talk to Sales). The contractors page says contractor subscriptions vary by region of work and the hiring clients you want to work with, and subscription prices are tiered by number of employees; it lists Compliance Pro (U.S. contractor management), ComplyWorks (global), VeriSource (U.S. DOT Operator Qualification) and CHAS (U.K. risk management and compliance) subscriptions with Subscribe buttons but no dollar figures. Its contractor subscription terms (the legal agreement, read Oct 24, 2026) say that, unless an order says otherwise, fees are set per calendar year, invoiced annually in advance, not prorated for partial years and non-refundable; they also describe a Pay-As-You-Go option billed monthly in arrears by the number of qualified individuals using the services and a tiered DOT bundle fee, which relate to its Operator Qualification services. Hiring-client pricing is not published. Confirm current pricing with the vendor. Re-checked Oct 25, 2026: unchanged; the contractor subscription terms still say fees are invoiced annually in advance (due by January 31 each calendar year), are non-refundable, and offer a Pay-As-You-Go option billed monthly in arrears by qualified individuals; /pricing still returns a not-found page; no dollar figures. Re-checked Oct 26, 2026: unchanged; /pricing still returns a not-found page; no dollar figures. Re-checked Oct 27, 2026: unchanged; /pricing still returns a not-found page; contractor subscriptions still tiered by number of employees with no figures; the subscription terms still say fees are invoiced annually in advance (due by January 31) with a monthly Pay-As-You-Go option. Re-checked Oct 28, 2026: unchanged; /pricing still returns a not-found page; contractor subscriptions still vary by region of work and hiring clients and are tiered by number of employees, with no figures. |

Where the vendor descriptions differ
- Prequalification: Constrafor says subs fill out a single master prequalification form that can be adapted to each GC's requirements, and GCs can use its master form or build their own; prequalification is free for subs. Veriforce's hiring clients set their requirements and contractors meet them through the network; its Subcontractor Scoring page says you choose the criteria, each sub gets a weighted real-time score, and you set custom thresholds with alerts when a score drops below target.
- Insurance and documents: Constrafor's COI page describes AI-enabled insurance review with Insurance CoPilot, its AI risk assistant for insurance documents. Veriforce's contractor management page centers on safety and compliance documentation against standards such as SSIP, PAS 91, the Common Assessment Standard and ISO 45001, plus worksite management.
- Beyond qualification: Constrafor adds contract management, invoice management and payment processing, diversity (MWBE) tracking and Early Pay financing for subs. Veriforce adds training and Operator Qualification (OQ), a learning management system, and a predictive safety tool that ranks contractors as standard, elevated or high-risk potential from leading indicators.
- AI: both are tagged AI features added to an established product. Constrafor's AI is Insurance CoPilot for insurance review. Veriforce describes machine learning and predictive analytics to flag elevated or high-risk subcontractors.
- Pricing (checked Oct 27, 2026): Constrafor publishes fixed annual GC platform pricing of $13,500 a year under $500M in ACV, $25,000 for $500M to $1B and $40,000 for $1B to $3B, custom above $3B; prequalification is free for subs. Veriforce publishes no hiring-client prices; contractor subscriptions are tiered by number of employees with no figures, invoiced annually with a monthly Pay-As-You-Go option. See each tool page for detail.
- Not like-for-like: Constrafor is construction-only software a GC runs on its own sub base; Veriforce is a contractor network that serves hiring clients across many industries, construction being one, where contractors maintain one profile for several clients.
- Not used here: Veriforce's network counters, NPS and incident-reduction percentages, and both vendors' customer quotes and logos (vendor material). Neither tool has been tested by Means & Methods Lab.
