Avetta vs ISNetworld
The two large cross-industry contractor prequalification networks a contractor is most often asked to join by an owner or hiring client. Both collect and verify safety, insurance and financial information once for many hiring clients; Avetta describes more AI on its platform pages. Vendor-published facts only.

| What it does | Cross-industry contractor and supplier risk management network: hiring clients set requirements and contractors and suppliers join to get qualified and stay compliant. Prequalification page lists collecting, reviewing and monitoring safety performance, audits, certifications and documents; one platform for health and safety, financial viability, diversity qualifications, workforce risk and liability; safety audits where auditors work with the contractor to close gaps; requirements tailored to local rules by in-house specialists; analytics at contractor, subcontractor and worker level; Tōtika (New Zealand) accredited prequalification; and FMCSA motor carrier data. Site navigation also lists insurance verification, business financial risk, contractor cybersecurity risk, subcontractor management, worker management, field safety and ESG modules. AI page describes AskAva (vendor calls it the industry's first generative AI risk assistant) for job hazard analyses, safety inspections and incident investigations; AI that extracts data from uploaded contractor and supplier forms and flags missing or inaccurate information before submission; an AI co-pilot that assists Avetta's own auditors; and AI plus OCR in worker-document review by its compliance staff. Counters of 360,000+ businesses in 120+ countries and a network of 130,000+ prequalified contractors, and plan-page outcome figures (30% fewer incidents, up to 3x ROI and similar), are vendor claims. Not construction-specific: construction is one of several industries in its content. | ISN's contractor and supplier information management platform. Hiring clients configure requirements by location, risk level or designation; contractors and suppliers submit health, safety, sustainability, insurance, financial, training and procurement information once for multiple hiring clients within one subscription; and ISN's Review and Verification Services (RAVS) team reviews submitted documents against regulatory and hiring-client requirements (vendor description). Also lists HSE management, sustainability/CSR data, a safety culture perception survey, supply-chain cybersecurity, insurance and financial risk (agents or brokers can submit insurance for the contractor at no additional fee; third-party policy data and insurer ratings from participating sources), worker-level training and qualifications, third-party data, and ISN Analytics dashboards and benchmarking. The Empower app for workers lists ISN ID, jobsite requirements and compliance status, mobile training, and what ISN calls AI-generated tools such as Hazard Assistant and Toolbox Talks. Figures of 900 hiring clients and a network of 90,000+ contractors and suppliers are vendor claims. Cross-industry, not construction-specific; the AI described is in the worker app, not in prequal review. |
| Who it's for | Hiring clients (health and safety, procurement and risk teams at owners and large contractors) and the suppliers and contractors who must qualify to work for them (vendor wording). | Hiring clients managing contractors and suppliers, and the contractors and suppliers who must meet those clients' requirements (vendor wording). |
| Pricing (as publicly stated) | Not publicly listed. Plans page says pricing is customized. Supplier plans: Directory (no client connections), then client-connected Standard, Plus (adds insurance and injury/illness verification) and Advanced (adds a supplier safety compliance audit), priced by number of client connections and project or trade risk level, plus a Vetify expedited compliance add-on; client pricing reflects qualification needs, industries and regions. No dollar figures published. (Checked Oct 16, 2026.) | Not publicly listed. Vendor says subscription pricing is all-inclusive: every subscriber pays an annual fee plus a one-time account setup fee; for contractors and suppliers both are based on workforce size (three-year average employee count per the FAQ) and the countries they operate in; hiring clients pay an annual fee per global region. The pricing-details dialog did not show dollar figures in our fetch. (Checked Oct 16, 2026.) |

Where the vendor descriptions differ
- Model: both are two-sided networks. Hiring clients set requirements; contractors and suppliers subscribe, submit their information and connect to clients. ISN says one contractor subscription covers multiple hiring clients; Avetta prices supplier plans by number of client connections and project or trade risk level.
- Verification: ISN says its RAVS team reviews submitted documents against regulatory and hiring-client requirements. Avetta lists insurance and injury/illness verification on its Plus supplier plan, supplier safety compliance audits on Advanced, and auditors who work with contractors to close gaps.
- AI: Avetta describes AskAva, a generative AI risk assistant for JHAs, inspections and incident investigations; AI extraction that flags missing or inaccurate form data before submission; and an AI co-pilot for its auditors. ISN describes AI-generated tools (Hazard Assistant, Toolbox Talks) in its Empower worker app; its prequal pages describe human review, not AI.
- Scale claims: Avetta cites 360,000+ businesses in 120+ countries and 130,000+ prequalified contractors; ISN cites 900 hiring clients and 90,000+ contractors and suppliers (vendor claims, counted differently).
- Pricing: neither publishes dollar figures. ISN says all subscribers pay an annual fee plus a one-time setup fee, set for contractors by workforce size and countries; Avetta says pricing is customized and lists Directory, Standard, Plus and Advanced supplier plans.

What we can't tell you yet
Which tool is better for your work. That needs testing on the same package with a verified answer key. Planned measures for this comparison:
- Time and total cost for one subcontractor to get approved for the same hiring client on each network
- Outside Means & Methods Lab's current benchmark scope.
