Datagrid vs Firmus

Two AI-first precon products now owned by larger platforms, aimed at different document jobs. Datagrid (a Procore company) sells AI agents that connect systems and run workflows such as submittals, RFIs, daily logs and spec review, with published Free, Pro and Enterprise plans. Firmus (now part of Bluebeam) focuses on computer-vision design review of PDF drawing sets to find incomplete design, scope gaps and sheet discrepancies, with annual plans priced by analyses per year but no dollar figures. Partly like-for-like (our reading): both sit in precon document work and open issues toward Procore, but Datagrid spans many agent workflows while Firmus centres on drawing-set QA. Desk research from vendor sites read Nov 5, 2026; no winner.

The site footer reads "Datagrid, a Procore company"; Groundbreak speaker pages list it as "Datagrid AI from Procore". The agents page lists 18 pre-built agents, including Deep Search, Fast Search, Submittal Review, Document Comparison, Submittal-Builder, Summary Spec Submittal, Scope Checker, RFI, Daily Log (raw field notes mapped to Procore daily log types), Change Order, Change Analysis, Audit, Contract Review, Pre-Qualification, Site Safety, SOP, Mentor and a Single Line Drawings Expert Agent (extracting and structuring electrical system data from single-line drawings into validated tables). The homepage says customer data is never used for model training and lists SOC 2 (vendor statements). Output multiples, percentages and customer quotes are vendor claims and are not used.AI design review for preconstruction that uses computer vision on PDF drawing sets to find incomplete design, scope gaps, missing information and discrepancies across hundreds of sheets, with a dashboard to filter, assign and track issues. Firmus's site says it is now part of Bluebeam (the footer says Bluebeam is part of the Nemetschek Group). Products: AI-REVIEW (computer-vision drawing review; included checks cover architectural packages, MEP connection points and document health such as sheets missing from the set), AI-MATCH (View-to-View Match on all annual plans, Full Set-to-Set Match as a Premium option) and a Procore integration whose RFI Connector groups issues into an RFI that opens in Procore. Analysis is iterative across design stages (100% DD, 50% CD, 90% CD, IFP, IFC). Vendor says it complements, not replaces, human review. Logo wall and case-study claims are not used.

Questions to ask in your review

  • Whether your bottleneck is multi-workflow agents across RFIs and submittals (Datagrid) or drawing-set completeness and match checks (Firmus)
  • How each fits if you already standardize on Procore versus Bluebeam
  • What Firmus costs at your annual analysis volume, and which Datagrid credit tier covers your file sizes and connectors
  • What did you use it for, on what kind of work and project size?
  • How long did setup and training take, and who on your team did it?
  • What does it cost you in practice, compared with what the sales call said?
