Built Technologies vs Siteline
Two tools on opposite ends of the same pay application and lien waiver exchange. Siteline is billing software for subcontractors: it builds pay apps on each GC's own forms, tracks compliance documents and change orders, collects lower-tier lien waivers and manages lien rights. Built is a real estate and construction finance platform for lenders, owners and developers and builders; its general contractor tools cover invoicing, compliance tracking, lien waiver management and payments, and its lien waiver product has a published price. Desk research from vendor pages read Oct 28, 2026; not tested, no winner.
In short: Built Technologies (Construction lending & draw management; vendor publishes prices) vs Siteline (Pay apps & billing; no public prices (quote / sales)). Facts last checked Oct 28, 2026. No winner declared; not tested.

| What it does | Real estate and construction finance platform for lenders, owners/developers, and builders, with AI draw management and inspections. Features listed: origination, OM extraction, underwriting, draw and budget management, AI Draw Agent, AI-powered draw inspections, risk mitigation, lien waivers, compliance tracking, invoices, and payments. Vendor says its AI is trained on $3T+ of real estate finance data and the Draw Agent enables 2-5x capacity gains (vendor claims). Integrates with Sage, Yardi, Procore, and more. Re-read Oct 17, 2026: the homepage still says its AI is trained on $3T+ in real estate finance data, lists AI-powered draw inspections, and says the AI Draw Agent enables 2-5x capacity gains, 100% policy adherence, 2x more risks flagged and up to 95% faster draw processing (vendor claims); getbuilt.com/pricing still returns a not-found page. Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: homepage unchanged in substance (AI trained on $3T+ of real estate finance data, AI-powered draw inspections, AI Draw Agent figures, Sage, Yardi and Procore integrations; vendor claims). Re-checked Oct 20, 2026: homepage unchanged in substance (AI trained on $3T+ of real estate finance data, AI-powered draw inspections, AI Draw Agent figures, Sage, Yardi and Procore integrations; vendor claims); a site banner now invites visitors to register for a keynote on "the next chapter of Built", and the footer lists SOC 2 Type II and SOC 1. Re-checked Oct 21, 2026: the homepage now leads with "Fund, develop, build, and manage on one AI-powered platform" with menus for banks, private credit, owners and developers, and general contractors (GC tools: invoicing, compliance tracking, lien waiver management and payments). The AI Draw Agent page still describes documentation review, draw and budget reconciliation, policy review, compliance confirmation and borrower notification in Audit, Assist and Automate modes, offers a waitlist, and labels its figures as early-adopter program data (not used). The invoicing page lists AIA-styled G702/G703 progress invoices linked to the schedule of values with retainage, change order billing and stored materials. The integrations page lists QuickBooks Desktop and Online, Yardi Voyager, Sage Intacct, Procore Financials, Encompass, DocuSign and nCino. The footer has a link addressed to AI assistants; we did not use it. Customer quotes and counters are not used. Re-checked Oct 25, 2026: homepage unchanged in substance (one AI-powered platform for banks, private credit, owners and developers and GCs); its keynote page now gives the date as Nov 5, 2026 at 1 PM ET, online and free (a pre-recorded keynote with live Q&A). Homepage counters, percentages and customer quotes are vendor content and are not used. Re-checked Oct 26, 2026: homepage and lien waiver page unchanged in substance (one AI-powered platform for banks, private credit, owners and developers and GCs; the keynote banner still points to its online keynote at 1 PM ET; the Draw Agent promo is unchanged). Homepage counters, percentages and customer quotes are vendor content and are not used. Re-checked Oct 27, 2026: homepage, Lien Waiver Management & Payments page and Draw Agent page unchanged in substance (finance platform for lenders, owners and developers, and builders; the banner still invites visitors to register for its keynote; AI Draw Agent promo unchanged). It also covers lien waiver generation and collection, A/R reporting, cash-flow forecasts, collections, and lien rights deadlines. Integrates with accounting systems and GC payment portals. Vendor says it has digitized 23,000+ forms from 17,000+ GCs and cites getting paid 3 weeks faster (vendor claims). The homepage does not describe AI, so we tag it Not AI-first; its pricing page (re-checked Oct 16, 2026) does list "AI vendor waiver validation for incorrect forms, amounts, or dates" as a feature of the Siteline Suite and of its vendor-compliance package. Re-read Oct 16, 2026: homepage now promotes a new Lien Rights Management product, says subcontractors have billed over $14B across 250k+ projects with Siteline, and cites 3 weeks paid faster, 7 days saved per month, 6x faster billing and 50% fewer pay app revisions (vendor claims). Re-read Oct 17, 2026: homepage and pricing page unchanged in substance (subcontractor-only billing; AI vendor waiver validation listed on the pricing page; unlimited users and offices in every package). Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: unchanged in substance. The pricing page still lists AI vendor waiver validation in the Siteline Suite and Vendor Management packages, and describes Vendor Management as for subcontractors or GCs that want a focused vendor-compliance and lien-waiver tool; billing itself is still built for subcontractors. The homepage still describes no AI, so the tag stays. Re-checked Oct 20, 2026: homepage and pricing page unchanged in substance (subcontractor billing; AI vendor waiver validation still listed in both packages; the homepage still describes no AI). The pricing page details the Lien Rights Management add-on (state-specific lien deadlines, lien protection status per project, notices generated from project data and sent by certified mail from Siteline), says most customers are up and running within two weeks, and its FAQ names Textura, GCPay and Procore Pay among the GC payment portals Siteline integrates with. Re-checked Oct 22, 2026: homepage and pricing page unchanged in substance (subcontractor billing on each GC's forms; AI vendor waiver validation still listed in the Siteline Suite and Vendor Management packages; the homepage still describes no AI, so the tag stays). The quote form now starts by asking company type (subcontractor, general contractor or other) and whether you do commercial work, and the solutions menu has a General Contractors entry for lien waiver and vendor compliance automation. Outcome figures and customer quotes not repeated. Re-read Oct 23, 2026 for a compare: pricing page unchanged in substance (Siteline Suite for subcontractors; Vendor Management for subcontractors or GCs focused on vendor compliance and lien waivers; AI vendor waiver validation listed in both; Lien Rights Management add-on; GC payment portal integrations named as Textura, GCPay and Procore Pay). Where the vendor descriptions differ
- Not like-for-like: Siteline is built for the subcontractor sending pay apps up to the GC. Built's GC and owner tools sit on the paying side, sending lien waivers with payments down to trade partners, and the wider platform serves construction lenders (origination, underwriting, draw and budget management, AI Draw Agent). A sub and a GC may each look at one of these from opposite ends of the same payment.
- Pay apps and invoicing: Siteline generates pay apps on digitized versions of each GC's exact forms, with digital signatures, change order tracking against the schedule of values and integrations with accounting systems and GC payment portals. Built's invoicing page lists AIA-styled G702/G703 progress invoices linked to the schedule of values, with retainage, change order billing and stored materials.
- Lien waivers: Siteline generates and sends waivers to lower tiers, automates reminders and collection and tracks status; its Lien Rights Management add-on tracks state-specific lien deadlines, generates required notices and manages certified delivery. Built creates waivers from state-mandated forms or custom templates, links each payment to its waiver, supports e-signature, e-notarization or signing in exchange for payment, and lets vendors sign from email with no login when no digital payment is attached.
- Money movement and A/R: Built includes digital payments with or without a waiver exchange (payment options and fees are on the Built tool page). Siteline's pages describe A/R tools instead: billing and cash-flow forecasts, collections tasks and payment reminders, and reports on invoice aging and which GCs pay fastest.
- AI: Siteline's pricing page lists AI vendor waiver validation for incorrect forms, amounts or dates in the Siteline Suite and Vendor Management packages; the homepage does not otherwise describe AI. Built says its AI is trained on real estate finance data and offers an AI Draw Agent and AI-powered draw inspections for lenders; the lien waiver page itself does not describe AI features.
- AI tag: Built Technologies is tagged AI features added to an established product; Siteline is tagged Not AI-first.
- Pricing (checked Oct 28, 2026): Built's Lien Waiver Management & Payments page lists $1,000 a month with unlimited projects, team members and free vendor accounts, and a discount when payments run through Built; the same page says No credit card needed and Send Lien Waivers & Payments for FREE, so ask which terms apply. Siteline quotes by product usage, billing volume and integrations, with unlimited users and offices in every package. See each tool page for detail.
- Not used here: Siteline's own Siteline vs. Built page, its billing-speed, invoice-aging and payment-time figures and customer quotes, and Built's Draw Agent percentages and platform figures (vendor material). Neither tool has been tested by Means & Methods Lab.
