Earlytrade vs Procore Pay
Two ways a general contractor can change how subcontractors get paid, solving different problems. Earlytrade is an early-payment negotiation program: the GC funds early payments from its own cash, subcontractors choose invoice by invoice whether to take one and set their own discount, and the sub portal is free. Procore Pay moves pay applications, payment requirements, lien waivers and disbursement approvals into Procore. Neither publishes GC prices, and neither page describes AI features. Desk research from vendor pages read Oct 28, 2026; not tested, no winner.
In short: Earlytrade (Early payment for subcontractors; no public prices (quote / sales)) vs Procore Pay (Pay apps & payments inside Procore; no public prices (quote / sales)). Facts last checked Oct 28, 2026. No winner declared; not tested.

| What it does | Early-payment negotiation for GCs and subs: subs request early payment, and GCs earn a return on their cash. Vendor claims subs get paid 28 days early on average and returns of 4-5x money market rates (vendor claims). Re-read Oct 17, 2026 (through a text reader; direct requests got a bot-check page): the homepage says commercial GCs with significant subcontractor spend use Earlytrade for 4-5x money market returns and can increase margin by 12%, and that subs requesting early payment get paid 28 days early on average (vendor claims). Its subcontractor page says subs see invoice statuses and estimated payment dates, choose invoice by invoice whether to request early payment and set their own discount offer rates, keep submitting invoices the same way, pay nothing to use the portal beyond the discount they choose, and put up no security; the homepage says GCs keep control of their cash and payments. The pages we read do not describe AI. Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: (homepage and subcontractor page read through a text reader; direct requests still got a bot-check page) unchanged in substance; the subcontractor FAQ adds that subs are paid the same way as before, only sooner if they opt in, and a customer CFO quoted on the homepage describes the discount as auction-based rather than contractually obligated, and another says Earlytrade handled onboarding of the GC's subcontractors (vendor-published quotes). The pages we read still do not describe AI. Re-checked Oct 20, 2026: (homepage and subcontractor page rendered directly in a headless browser this time) unchanged in substance; the subcontractor FAQ still says the portal is free, invoices are submitted as before and no security is required, and the site offers a margin calculator and US, UK and Australia regional sites. The pages we read still do not describe AI. Re-checked Oct 22, 2026 (rendered in a headless browser): homepage and subcontractor page unchanged in substance (early payment negotiation for GCs and their subs; the subcontractor FAQ still says the portal is free, invoices are submitted as before, subs are paid the same way only sooner if they opt in, and discount rates are set by the sub). The homepage return, days-early and ENR Top 400 lines and customer quotes are vendor material and not used. The pages we read still do not describe AI. Re-checked Oct 26, 2026: the subcontractor page now lives at earlytrade.com/solutions/subcontractors/ and is unchanged in substance (free portal, subs set their own discount rates, no security required, no mandate and no cost beyond the discount); the homepage is unchanged. Return, margin and ENR figures and CFO quotes are vendor content and not used. Still no AI described. | Procore's construction payment product, where subcontractors submit pay apps and handle payments inside Procore, not a separate portal. Page lists a checklist view of payment requirements per invoice, invoice review and preparation for payment, a library of pay requirements and lien waiver templates, digital signature collection, unconditional lien waivers staged and released at the time of payment, and approval chains built with Procore Workflows with an audit trail of who reviewed and approved each disbursement. Integrations named on the page include Sage, QuickBooks Connector, Viewpoint and MyCOI. A TruEdge Builds quote cites dozens of hours saved each month (vendor-published quote). The Pay page itself does not describe AI; it links to Procore AI agents as a separate capability (see our Procore AI entry), so we tag Procore Pay Not AI-first. Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: unchanged in substance (payment-readiness checklist, automated lien waiver exchange with unconditional waivers released only after payment, approval routing through Procore Workflows); the page also points to Procore's 500+ integrations and apps. Still no AI on the Pay page. Re-checked Oct 21, 2026: the Pay page is unchanged in substance (payment-readiness checklist view, automated lien waiver exchange with signed unconditional waivers released only after payment, templates for pay requirements and waivers, approval routing through Procore Workflows); still no AI described on the Pay page, so the tag stays. Re-checked Oct 23, 2026: the Pay page is unchanged in substance (payment-readiness checklist view, lien waiver templates and automated exchange with unconditional waivers released at payment, disbursement approval routing through Procore Workflows with an audit trail); still no AI described on the Pay page, so the tag stays. Re-checked Oct 26, 2026: the Pay page is unchanged in substance (payment-readiness checklist view, lien waiver templates, unconditional waivers staged and released at payment, approval routing through Procore Workflows); still no AI described on the Pay page, so the tag stays. |

Where the vendor descriptions differ
- Core job: Earlytrade's homepage describes early payment negotiation built for GCs and their subs, where the GC keeps control of its cash and payments and earns a discount on invoices it pays early. Its subcontractor page says subs see approved invoices, invoice statuses and estimated payment dates, request early payment invoice by invoice, and set their own discount offer rates. Procore Pay's page describes a payment-application workflow inside Procore: a checklist view of payment requirements per invoice, invoice review and preparation for payment, and approval chains for each disbursement.
- Lien waivers and approvals: Procore Pay lists a library of pay requirement and lien waiver templates, digital signature collection, and signed unconditional lien waivers staged and released only after payment, plus approval routing through Procore Workflows with an audit trail of who reviewed and approved each disbursement. Earlytrade's pages describe no pay-app, lien waiver or approval workflow; its subcontractor FAQ says nothing changes in how subs claim or submit invoices, and customers pay them the same way as before, only sooner if they opt in.
- For subcontractors: Earlytrade says there is no mandate and no cost to use its portal, only the discount a sub chooses to accept, and no security or extra credentials are required. Procore Pay's page says subcontractors work in Procore rather than a separate payment system.
- AI and integrations: both are tagged Not AI-first; neither page describes AI features (Procore Pay's page links to Procore AI as a separate capability). Earlytrade says it works alongside popular construction technology without naming systems on the pages read today. Procore Pay names Sage, QuickBooks Connector, Viewpoint and MyCOI, and points to Procore's app marketplace.
- Pricing (checked Oct 28, 2026): neither publishes GC prices. Earlytrade's /pricing returns a not-found page and its call to action is Request Demo; subs pay only the discount they accept. Procore Pay's See pricing link goes to Procore's custom-quote pricing page, which says pricing is based on Annual Construction Volume (the aggregate dollar value of construction work across your projects), with no dollar figures. See each tool page for detail.
- Not like-for-like and potentially complementary: Earlytrade changes when subs get paid and what the GC earns on its cash; Procore Pay changes how pay apps, waivers and approvals are handled. Neither vendor describes an integration between the two on the pages we read.
- Not used here: Earlytrade's return, margin, days-early and conversion figures, ENR rankings and customer quotes, and Procore Pay's customer quote, user count and review-site ratings (vendor material). Neither tool has been tested by Means & Methods Lab.

Questions to ask in your review
- What either costs a general contractor; neither publishes GC prices
- Whether Earlytrade can read approved invoices and payment dates from Procore or your ERP in your setup
- How early payment would interact with lien waiver release and pay-app approval timing
- What did you use it for, on what kind of work and project size?
- How long did setup and training take, and who on your team did it?
- What does it cost you in practice, compared with what the sales call said?
