Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • Starting point: CompanyCam's homepage centres on timestamped photos and video with unlimited cloud storage, a project timeline, live job updates for clients and a project map; its pricing page adds reports, daily logs, checklists, signatures, guest access and collaborators. Fieldwire's pricing page starts from plan viewing, task management, specifications, files and photos, then adds reports and exports, sheet compare, photo metadata stamps and custom task statuses (Pro), custom forms, 360° photos, a BIM viewer and integrations (Business), and RFIs, submittal management, change orders and budget (Business Plus).
  • AI: CompanyCam lists voice-driven checklists and reports, quick photo captions, instant project recaps, translation of project communication and proposals from voice notes and photos; its FAQ says AI features are included in Crew, Scale and Enterprise, and its plan table shows a Total AI Credits row (10, 100, Unlimited). Fieldwire's Field Intelligence page describes asking questions across plans, tasks, photos and forms, voice-driven task creation and updates, AI-assisted RFI editing, talk-to-action structured reports and turning form issues into tasks, and says customer data is not used to train AI without explicit permission. Fieldwire's pricing page lists a submittal extractor from Pro up.
  • Back office: CompanyCam lists payment processing (US companies), invoices, a price book and proposals (US and Canada) on its plans, plus a separately sold Marketing Suite for social posts and Google reviews. Fieldwire's commercial tools are construction-admin ones on Business Plus (RFIs, submittals, change orders, budget) rather than customer invoicing.
  • Pricing (checked Oct 23, 2026): CompanyCam's plan cards show Core $63/month billed annually ($79 monthly), Crew $119 ($149) and Scale $249 ($299), with Crew and Scale including 3 users and added users at $29 annually / $34 monthly; Enterprise is custom. Its compare-plans table on the same page reads Crew $129 and Scale $199 a month, which conflicts with the cards, so confirm with the vendor. Fieldwire lists Basic at $0 per user/month (up to 5 users, 3 projects, 100 sheets), Pro $39, Business $64 and Business Plus $89 per user/month billed annually, and custom contracts for unlimited users, API access and SSO.
  • Fit: CompanyCam names general contracting, restoration, roofing, landscaping and solar, and sizes its solutions from 1-10 employees to 50+ and franchise networks. Fieldwire's pricing page frames Business Plus for teams connecting Fieldwire to core tech systems; its plan table limits free Basic to small teams. CompanyCam's app-store ratings, user and job counts and customer savings figures, and Fieldwire's project count and survey, are vendor claims and are not used here.

Questions to ask in your review

  • Which CompanyCam price is current for Crew and Scale (the plan cards and compare table differ)
  • How each handles punch lists closed out by subcontractors who are not paid users
  • How well photos and reports move between the two if a team runs both
  • What did you use it for, on what kind of work and project size?
  • How long did setup and training take, and who on your team did it?
  • What does it cost you in practice, compared with what the sales call said?
