blade ai vs Argyle
Two ways to check installed work against the design before it turns into rework: linked project records or an AR model overlay. From Inertia Systems, blade ai links drawings, models, RFIs, submittals, inspections and turnover records to one project baseline with AI search on top, while Argyle overlays the BIM model on the jobsite in augmented reality so crews and owners can verify installs in place. Vendor pages re-read Oct 18, 2026; desk research, not tested, no winner.
In short: blade ai (Inertia) (Connected project intelligence; no public prices (quote / sales)) vs Argyle (Real-time jobsite verification; no public prices (quote / sales)). Facts last checked Oct 18, 2026. No winner declared; not tested.

| What it does | Connected intelligence layer from Inertia Systems that links drawings, models, documents and field activity, with AI search on top. It builds one project baseline and answers plain-language questions. Re-read Oct 18, 2026: it builds on Inertia's inspection and work-in-place technology (Inertia Classic login still offered) and makes the drawing the system of record, linking each object to its spec section, RFI thread, submittal status, inspection history and turnover record; sheets are versioned, quality checks surface missing references and revision conflicts, models are ingested in the background without opening the authoring software, and RFIs, submittals, inspections, commissioning and daily logs start from the object and update the live drawing. Its AI Intelligence capability offers semantic search across drawings, forms, specs, model elements and inspections and plain-language answers that point back to source records; it says project data is not used to train shared public models. It says it sits above existing construction software rather than replacing it, and names architects, VDC teams, GCs, subcontractors, owner's reps and owners. Listed at Groundbreak as "Blade Ai (by Interia System)". | Real-time jobsite verification for industrial owners that overlays the BIM model on site in augmented reality to check installs. The aim is to catch issues before work is buried. Re-read Oct 18, 2026: teams upload from Revit or Navisworks or sync from Autodesk Construction Cloud, anchor the model on an iPad (iOS), Magic Leap 2 or HoloLens 2, walk it to verify installs, and drop geo-anchored notes, photos and markup that sync to Procore; it also lists model versioning, multi-trade coordination in dense MEP zones, prefab checks against site conditions and a spatial as-built record for handover, and suggests verifying work before reality capture. Use cases include petrochemical, data centers, manufacturing, life sciences and civil and utilities. Vendor claims: 1/8 inch headset and 1/4 inch iPad accuracy across large areas without pre-scanning or beacons, +87% rework reduction and 100% install coverage; it lists SOC 2 Type II. The pages we read do not describe AI features. |
| Who it's for | Commercial construction project teams: architects, VDC and innovation teams, general contractors, subcontractors, owner's reps and owners (vendor wording). | Industrial owners and operators and their GCs, owner's reps, VDC teams and MEP and prefab crews, on projects it says are $100M+. |
| Pricing (as publicly stated) | Custom quote / no public prices on pricing page (checked Oct 16, 2026; unchanged Oct 18, 2026). Two plans, both via sales: Office (3 projects included, unlimited users, integrations, custom workflows and forms, SSO and audit logs) and Enterprise (adds custom data residency, SLAs and DPA, dedicated CSM). | No public prices found (checked Oct 16, 2026; re-checked Oct 18, 2026): the vendor site has no pricing or plans link in its navigation or footer, and /pricing and /plans return a not-found page. The site's calls to action are "Start a Pilot" and a 15-minute demo. Confirm current pricing with the vendor. |

Where the vendor descriptions differ
- Starting point (vendor wording): blade ai calls itself the connected intelligence layer for construction, built on Inertia's inspection and work-in-place technology (the site still offers an Inertia Classic login); it connects drawings, models, documents, workflows, field activity and construction management software around one trusted project baseline, and its footer calls it the connective tissue for commercial construction. Argyle calls itself real-time jobsite verification for industrial owners, BIM to augmented reality, and lists petrochemical, data centers, manufacturing, life sciences and civil and utilities among its use cases.
- How each checks the work: blade ai makes the drawing the system of record. Every door, duct, wall, panel and pour becomes an object linked to its spec section, RFI thread, submittal status, inspection history and turnover record; sheets are versioned and indexed, quality checks surface missing references and revision conflicts before they reach the field, and RFIs, submittals, inspections, commissioning and daily logs start from the object, pre-filled and routed, then update the live drawing. Argyle puts the model in the room: upload from Revit or Navisworks or sync from Autodesk Construction Cloud, anchor it to the site on an iPad or headset, walk it to verify installs against design, and drop geo-anchored notes, photos and markup; it suggests running this before reality capture so scans record work that is already right.
- Accuracy and scale (vendor claims): Argyle states 1/8 inch accuracy on a headset and 1/4 inch on an iPad, held across large areas and between floors without pre-scanning or beacon networks, 100k+ square feet of alignment at once, hundreds of simultaneous users on one site, and deployment on projects of $100M+. blade ai's pages describe linking records rather than positioning work in space, and publish no field accuracy figures.
- Devices and integrations: Argyle runs on iOS, Magic Leap 2 and HoloLens 2, syncs photos, notes and coordinates to Procore, works natively with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit and Navisworks, and offers an enterprise API under agreement. blade ai says it sits above your existing tools rather than replacing them, reading, classifying and linking the data inside them; it ingests native and open model formats in the background without opening the authoring software, and lists headless Revit publishing for architects.
- Who uses it (vendor wording): blade ai names six roles (architect, VDC and innovation teams, general contractor, subcontractor, owner's rep and owner) across five phases from design and precon to build, turnover and operations, including owner access to inspections, warranties, as-builts and commissioning records after handover. Argyle names MEP foremen and installers, prefab teams checking assemblies against site conditions, GCs and owner's reps coordinating trades, and owners who want a spatially verified as-built record at handover.
- AI: blade ai keeps its AI-first label. Its AI Intelligence capability offers semantic search across drawings, forms, specifications, model elements and inspections and plain-language questions whose answers point back to the drawing, spec, form or record behind them; it says it structures and connects the data first, then applies AI, and that project data is not used to train shared public models. Argyle's pages describe AR alignment, model versioning and spatial capture but not AI, so it stays Not AI-first.
- Security (vendor statements): Argyle lists SOC 2 Type II with reports at the Enterprise tier, GDPR, MDM readiness, SSO with role-based permissions, continuous monitoring and annual third-party penetration tests. blade ai links a Trust Center and a security page that we did not read for this compare.
- Pricing: neither publishes prices. blade ai's pricing page lists Office (3 projects included, unlimited users, all active integrations, custom workflows and forms, SSO (SAML) and audit logs) and Enterprise (adds custom data residency, custom SLAs and DPA, an executive sponsor and a dedicated CSM), both through sales. Argyle has no pricing page; it offers a pilot and a 15-minute demo and says it is aimed at projects spending $100M+. Not used here: Argyle's rework-reduction and install-coverage figures and customer quotes, and the superintendent time-split quote on blade ai's homepage.

What we can't tell you yet
Which tool is better for your work. That needs testing on the same package with a verified answer key. Planned measures for this comparison:
- How blade ai's object links behave when the drawing set and the model disagree, and who reviews AI answers before the field relies on them
- What alignment accuracy Argyle holds on your site and devices; its 1/8 and 1/4 inch figures are vendor claims
- What either costs; neither publishes prices
