| What it does | All-in-one construction management software for home builders, remodelers, pool and outdoor living builders, roofers, specialty and commercial contractors: CRM, estimating, takeoff, contracts and e-signatures, cost catalog, bid requests, scheduling, daily logs, time tracking, budgets, change orders, job costing, POs, AIA payment applications, customer and vendor portals, selections, payments and warranty management. Its AI page (read Oct 18, 2026) lists built-in AI Estimating (draft budgets), AI Form Builder, AI Plan Import & Count Tools (name, number and scale plan sheets; count repeated items), AI Daily Log Summaries, AI Formula Builder, AI Writing Assistant, AI Autofill for Web Clipper (pulls product details from supplier sites), AI Receipt Scanning, AI Support Assistant and AI Report Builder. Separately, its AI Connector runs through a JobTread MCP server so ChatGPT, Claude and other tools can create estimates, build schedules, pull selections and takeoff quantities and analyze data inside the account; the page warns that AI can make mistakes and must be reviewed, says connected AI acts with your account permissions, and its FAQ says you need an API key from your AI provider. Vendor says 13,000+ construction businesses use it (vendor claim, not verified by us). | Construction management software for residential builders, remodelers, restoration and specialty contractors: CRM and lead capture, estimates and change orders, e-signatures, invoicing and payment processing, progress billing, scheduling with Gantt charts and linear timelines, job costing and budgeting, purchase orders, a client portal, a mobile app with geofenced time tracking, daily logs, Spanish translation and QuickBooks integration. Its AI is Projul AI Connect (page read Oct 18, 2026): an API key that lets ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, or Zapier, Make and n8n, work in the Projul account, for example turning a voicemail into a lead, drafting an estimate or change order from notes, shifting a schedule or updating a cost library from a supplier price list. Projul says the assistant can build and edit draft estimates and change orders but cannot send or approve them or text or email customers, that totals, taxes and markups are calculated by Projul rather than the AI, and that only owners and admins can create a key, read-only or read-write, which can be turned off at any time. The pricing FAQ places AI Connect on the Pro plan. Vendor says 5,000+ contractors use Projul (vendor claim, not verified by us). |

Where the vendor descriptions differ
- Connector: JobTread's AI Connector runs through its MCP server and acts with your account permissions. Projul AI Connect uses an API key (read-only or read-write, created by owners or admins) that works with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Zapier, Make and n8n.
- Guardrails as described: Projul says the assistant can draft and edit estimates and change orders but cannot send or approve them or message customers, and that Projul, not the AI, calculates totals, taxes and markups. JobTread says to review and approve outputs before anything is sent and warns AI can make mistakes.
- Built-in AI: JobTread lists ten native AI tools (estimating, plan import and counts, daily log summaries, receipt scanning and more). Projul's pages we read describe AI Connect, not native AI features.
- Pricing: JobTread $199 a month with 1 internal user plus $20 to $5 per added user by tier. Projul is flat by user cap, from $199 a month billed annually (up to 3 users) to $1,199 billed annually (unlimited users); AI Connect sits on that Pro plan.
- Both need your own AI tool to use the connector, which is a separate cost on that tool's terms.

Which tool is better for your work. That needs testing on the same package with a verified answer key. Planned measures for this comparison:
- Which actions each connector can take on schedules, budgets and invoices in practice
- Audit trail of AI-made changes in each account
- Total cost at your headcount including the AI tool's subscription
