GoFormz vs SiteMarker
Two ways to capture field data, as digital forms that mirror paper ones or as geotagged pins dropped on a site map. Not like-for-like (our reading): GoFormz is a forms and workflow platform with conditional logic, approvals, offline use, an AI form builder and connectors into ERP, PM and BI tools, while SiteMarker puts CAD, PDF and KMZ overlays on a live map so field staff drop GPS-positioned pins for inspections, SWPPP and punch items and roll them into reports. Vendor pages read Oct 20, 2026; desk research, not tested, no winner.
In short: GoFormz (Field data capture & workflows; vendor publishes prices) vs SiteMarker (Map-based field reporting; no public prices (quote / sales)). Facts last checked Oct 20, 2026. No winner declared; not tested.
Side by side
| Sheet row | GoFormz | SiteMarker |
|---|---|---|
| Category | Field data capture & workflows | Map-based field reporting |
| AI role (our label) | AI features added to established product | Not AI-first |
| What it does | "Field execution system of record" for running field workflows and capturing data, which the vendor says deploys in 2-4 weeks. Re-read Oct 18, 2026: forms mirror the paper forms crews already use, with conditional logic, required fields, calculations, photo, GPS, sketch and e-signature fields, offline use, multi-step approval routing and audit trails, and validated data flows into ERP, CRM, PM, storage and BI tools. Construction workflows on the homepage include safety and JSA approvals, inspections with conditional findings, severity routing and defect tracking, T&M billing with change orders and customer sign-offs, and daily progress roll-ups. Its AI page and form builder say an AI-powered builder creates a digital form from an uploaded PDF or image and maps each field's type, size and name, and mention AI-enabled data capture tools, so the label changed from Not AI-first to AI features added. Starter integrations named: Acumatica, Box, Dropbox, Egnyte, Google Suite, OneDrive, SharePoint and Autodesk; the integrations page adds Salesforce, SQL and an open API. Vendor states SOC 2 Type II, GDPR with EU data residency and HIPAA-ready workflows on all plans (vendor statements). Re-read Oct 19, 2026: AI page unchanged (AI form builder from an uploaded form; AI-enabled data capture). Re-read Oct 20, 2026: homepage, AI page and integrations page unchanged in substance; the homepage FAQ names connectors for Microsoft Power Automate, SharePoint, SQL Server, Procore, Acumatica, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce and Snowflake and says forms and workflows run fully offline with auto-sync on reconnect. | Field communication software: geotagged pins, site inspections and field reports on a map; new photo markup. Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: the homepage describes GPS-based site positioning (Bluetooth GPS units can be paired for survey-grade precision, per the vendor), PDF, image and KMZ overlays for CAD/GIS alignment, custom tags for SWPPP inspections and punch lists, geotagged pins rolled into field reports, and share links for stakeholders; Photo Markup was announced April 1, 2026. Re-checked Oct 20, 2026: the homepage now carries a banner introducing Digital Dig for general contractors (no details on the homepage), and describes auto-alignment of new georeferenced overlays to earlier uploads and single-link report sharing; still no AI described. |
| Who it's for | Construction and energy field teams. | Civil engineering and site teams. |
| Pricing (as publicly stated) | Vendor-listed pricing (pricing page, checked Oct 16, 2026; unchanged Oct 18, 2026): Starter $499/month billed monthly or $4,999/year billed annually (up to 10 users, up to 30 templates, 100 API calls per day, 25 public forms per month, unlimited internal submissions, workflows, listed integrations and onboarding); Enterprise custom quote scoped to team size, workflows, integrations and support. Add-ons include public forms, API calls, storage and professional services. Confirm current terms with the vendor. Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: prices unchanged ($989 saved with annual billing), but the page now disagrees with itself on Starter limits: the plan card lists 600 API calls per day, pay-per-use public forms and integrations with Acumatica, Box, Dropbox, Egnyte, Google Workspace, OneDrive, SharePoint and monday.com, while the FAQ still says 100 API calls per day, 25 public forms per month and Autodesk. Ask GoFormz which limits apply. Re-checked Oct 20, 2026: no price change (Starter $499/month or $4,999/year, Enterprise custom quote); the plan card (600 API calls per day, pay-per-use public forms, monday.com) and the FAQ (100 API calls per day, 25 public forms per month, Autodesk) still disagree. | Custom quote / no public prices on pricing page (checked Oct 16 and Oct 19, 2026). Four plans, each a flat annual fee with unlimited users and Request Pricing: Starter (1-10 active projects), Builder (20-50), Pro (75-150), Enterprise (250+, Contact Sales). Workspaces: 1-3 on Starter, up to 3 on Builder and Pro, 3+ on Enterprise; unlimited archived projects from Builder up. 30-day free trial for new accounts. Re-checked Oct 20, 2026: no price change and still no figures; the plan table also lists sub-plan options (Pilot, Lite, Standard, XL, Enterprise and Custom across the tiers) and negotiable rates for additional projects, and the 30-day free trial for new accounts is still offered. |

Where the vendor descriptions differ
- Capture model: GoFormz forms mirror the paper forms crews already use, with conditional logic, required fields, calculations, photo, GPS, sketch and e-signature fields and multi-step approval routing. SiteMarker starts from the map: users see their position on the plan through GPS site positioning (the vendor says Bluetooth GPS units can be paired for survey-grade precision), drop geotagged pins with site data and tag them with custom categories.
- Drawings and maps: SiteMarker loads PDFs, images and KMZ files as CAD and GIS overlays, accepts uploaded linework and CAD files, and auto-aligns new georeferenced overlays to earlier uploads. The GoFormz pages we read do not describe plan or map overlays; GPS is a form field.
- Construction use cases: GoFormz's homepage names safety and compliance (JSA approvals), inspections with conditional findings, severity routing and defect tracking, time and materials billing with change orders and customer sign-offs, and daily progress roll-ups. SiteMarker names SWPPP inspections, punch list tracking and construction field reports, mainly for civil engineering and site teams; its homepage also announces Digital Dig for general contractors (no details on the page we read), and it added Photo Markup on April 1, 2026.
- Reports and records: SiteMarker turns geotagged pins into field and daily reports and shares them inside or outside the organisation with one link. GoFormz submissions become timestamped records with audit trails that flow into connected systems.
- Offline and integrations: GoFormz says crews can complete forms and run workflows fully offline with auto-sync on reconnect, and names connectors including Microsoft Power Automate, SharePoint, SQL Server, Procore, Acumatica, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce and Snowflake. The SiteMarker pages we read do not list integrations or say whether the app works offline.
- AI tags: GoFormz stays AI features added (an AI form builder that generates and maps fields from an uploaded form, plus what it calls AI-enabled data capture tools). SiteMarker stays Not AI-first: the pages we read do not describe AI.
- Pricing (checked Oct 20, 2026): GoFormz publishes Starter at $499 a month or $4,999 a year (up to 10 users and 30 templates; the plan card and FAQ disagree on API-call and public-form limits), with Enterprise by custom quote. SiteMarker lists four flat-annual-fee plans with unlimited users and no figures (Starter 1-10 active projects, Builder 20-50, Pro 75-150, Enterprise 250+), negotiable rates for additional projects and a 30-day free trial for new accounts. GoFormz is capped by users; SiteMarker is sized by active projects.
- Not used here: GoFormz's case-study percentages and savings, its billing-delay, OSHA-penalty and build-your-own cost figures and its submission, user, uptime and customer counts, SiteMarker's demo dashboard figures and hours-saved and projects-managed claims, and both vendors' customer quotes and "trusted by" lines. Neither tool has been tested by Means & Methods Lab.
