Dalux Field vs PlanRadar

Two field apps for defects, punch lists and inspections pinned to drawings and models. Dalux Field leads with its BIM viewer and offers Field Basic, a free punch list tier, with Field Standard and Field Pro unpriced; its pages describe no AI. PlanRadar publishes per-user prices and adds PlanRadar AI (agents, form generation, voice-to-ticket capture, an assistant on project data) on its Pro and Enterprise plans. Vendor pages read Oct 22, 2026; desk research, not tested, no winner.

What it doesOn-site construction management app that connects drawings, BIM models, quality, safety and tasks on mobile. Lists checklist / test-and-inspection workflows with inspection points, responsibilities and acceptance criteria; punch lists and defect tasks pinned to drawings or BIM elements; offline capture with auto sync; safety inspections and observations; and SiteWalk / TwinBIM-style model-to-field checks. Vendor says 2.5 million+ app downloads, 1.7 million users, 23 languages, and unlimited users with local support (vendor claims). Dalux Field Basic is a free punch/defect tier (unlimited tasks, drawings/BIM upload, invite project members); Field Standard/Pro add features such as inspection plans. The Field pages we read do not describe generative AI. Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: (read through a text fetch; a plain request returned 403) the Field and Field Basic pages are unchanged in substance. Field Basic is still described as completely free, with unlimited tasks, user groups, status dashboards and export of tasks and audit trails for handover, and a viewer the vendor says handles anything from 1 to 600 BIM models on any device with on-site measuring; inspection plans still need Field Standard or Field Pro. Still no AI described. Re-checked Oct 20, 2026 (text fetch; a plain request returned 403): the Field and Field Basic pages are unchanged in substance (2.5 million+ downloads, 1.7 million users, 23 languages, unlimited users and local support, vendor claims); still no AI described. Re-checked Oct 22, 2026 (text fetch; a plain request returned 403): the Field, Field Basic and punch list pages are unchanged in substance (BIM viewer for 1 to 600 models, issues, tasks and inspections linked to BIM elements, SiteWalk evaluation in Field, checklists and test-and-inspection plans, weekly safety inspections and observations, offline sync, 23 languages, unlimited users); still no AI described. Download and user counts and customer quotes are vendor material and not used.Construction and real estate platform for site diaries, tasks, inspections, defects and punch lists, handovers and maintenance. Modules listed: site diaries, subcontractor task management, inspections, checklists and safety audits, defect management and snagging / punch lists, handovers, and evidence/claims management, plus facility fault recording and maintenance. PlanRadar AI (planradar.ai and pricing table, re-checked Oct 16, 2026) describes AI Agents that watch a project and take allowed actions, AI form building from a description or uploaded document, voice-to-ticket capture, a natural-language assistant on project data, auto project-status overviews, AI search across site data, Help Center answers, and recommendations for upcoming actions; the AI site says enterprise-grade security with zero training on your data and ISO certification (vendor claims). SiteView 360° reality capture is an add-on; PlanRadar Connect lists 200+ no-code integrations and an open API. Subcontractors and watchers are free. Vendor cites 200,000+ users in 75+ countries and GDPR / ISO 27001 (vendor claims). Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: modules, the PlanRadar AI feature list (Agents, form generation, voice-to-ticket capture, assistant, overviews, search, Help Center answers, recommendations) and the 200,000+ users in 75+ countries figure are unchanged. The pricing FAQ also says up to 10 monthly-cancellable licences can be bought per account through self-service, and cites customer-reported ROI of up to 9 times and efficiency gains of up to 70% (vendor claims, not verified). Re-read Oct 22, 2026: homepage, PlanRadar AI page and punch list page unchanged in substance (same AI feature list; punch list items pinned to plans and BIM models with photos, videos, text and voice recordings and exported into the user's own template). Homepage reports, customer quotes and ROI, efficiency and onboarding percentages are vendor material and not used.

Pricing (as publicly stated)Field Basic: free (no hidden fees per product page; unlimited tasks and project invites). Field Standard and Field Pro: upgrade when you need more (e.g. inspection plans); dollar prices not publicly listed on the pages we read. (Checked Oct 16, 2026; unchanged Oct 19, 2026.) Re-checked Oct 20, 2026: Field Basic still completely free with no hidden fees; inspection plans still need Field Standard or Field Pro. The FAQ did not render in our read, so the 4% innovation fee was not re-confirmed. Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • Punch lists: Dalux Field Basic places each task on a drawing with photos, assigns it to a responsible person with a deadline, lets subcontractors respond with photos, mark-ups and text and mark items ready for sign-off, and exports status and the audit trail for handover. PlanRadar pins punch list items to digital plans and BIM models with photos, videos, text and voice recordings, assigns deadlines, exports items into the user's own report template and tracks progress on statistics boards.
  • BIM: Dalux says its viewer handles from 1 to 600 BIM models on any device, overlays 2D drawings on the 3D model, measures on site, links issues, tasks and inspections to BIM elements and evaluates SiteWalks in Field. PlanRadar's pricing table lists 1 BIM model per user on Pro and unlimited models on Enterprise, with none listed on Basic or Starter, and sells SiteView 360° capture as an add-on.
  • Quality and safety: Dalux lists checklists and test-and-inspection plans with inspection points, responsibilities and acceptance criteria (inspection plans need Field Standard or Field Pro), weekly safety inspections, public safety observations, offline capture and 23 languages. PlanRadar lists inspections, checklists and safety audits, checklist and conditional fields, QR codes and NFC tags, ticket signatures, approval workflows for RFIs, submittals and change orders, Gantt scheduling and offline mode.
  • AI: the Dalux Field pages we read describe no AI. PlanRadar AI lists agents that watch a project and take the actions you allow, form building from a description or document, voice-to-ticket capture, an assistant on project data, auto-generated overviews, search, Help Center answers and recommendations; the pricing table puts AI workflow features on Pro and Enterprise.
  • Who pays: Dalux says Field Basic is completely free with unlimited tasks and project invites, and lists unlimited users. PlanRadar charges per core-team user, with subcontractors and watchers free on every plan.
  • Pricing (checked Oct 22, 2026): PlanRadar lists Basic (1 user) at $32, Starter at $107 and Pro at $159 per user per month billed annually, or $35, $119 and $179 billed monthly, with Enterprise by quote and a 30-day free trial; its FAQ says buyers of more than two licences get a yearly offer from sales, up to 10 monthly-cancellable licences can be bought by self-service, and a 4% innovation fee applies from the second billing period. Dalux Field Basic is free; Field Standard and Field Pro have no published prices on the pages we read.
  • Not used here: Dalux's download and user counts and customer quotes, and PlanRadar's user count, ROI, efficiency and hours-saved figures, onboarding percentages and customer quotes (vendor material). Neither tool has been tested by Means & Methods Lab.

Questions to ask in your review

  • What Field Standard and Field Pro cost for a project team
  • Whether PlanRadar's voice-to-ticket capture holds up on a noisy punch walk with multilingual crews
  • How each handles large federated BIM models offline on older phones
  • Whether either exports a punch list into an owner's closeout format without rework
  • What did you use it for, on what kind of work and project size?
  • How long did setup and training take, and who on your team did it?
