What it doesConstruction management software for small-to-mid home builders, in a beta it says is limited to 100 builders (pages read Oct 18, 2026): construction scheduling with Gantt charts and dependency cascades, permitting and inspections, purchasing, budgets and POs, bid management, a sales pipeline, a design center and a homeowner portal. The design center handles room-by-room selections, spec levels (for example Standard, Premium, Luxury), structural options with real-time pricing, per-room allowances that roll overages into change orders, a step-by-step product configurator for items such as cabinets and countertops, and a Trade Copy of selections with all pricing stripped for trades. Its AI agents: StyleSmith AI, which a design or sales user points at a home and one of 10 style themes to compose a whole-home selection set (flooring, tile, cabinets, counters, plumbing, lighting, hardware) from the builder's own catalog at its own retail prices, held inside the home's spec floor and an optional ceiling; the vendor says it reports a gap rather than substituting a higher tier, writes into selections only on command, never overwrites approved or locked selections, never touches structural options and never auto-approves. A buyer style quiz that feeds it is in early access. Also listed: Foreman AI (a natural-language agent with 396+ skills over parts, vendors, homes and budgets, with undo and dry-run on destructive writes), Blueprint AI (PDF floor plan to scope takeoff), Bid Import AI (vendor bids from Excel, PDF, scans or photos into bids or takeoffs, with a confidence table to review), Punchlist AI, an AI MLS listing writer, an AI support agent, and Jobsite AI vendor-arrival detection (listed as coming soon). A built-in MCP server and a REST API with webhooks let Claude, ChatGPT, n8n or your own agent use the same skills on Pro+. The pricing page's comparisons with NEWSTAR, BuildPro, Buildertrend and JobTread are vendor claims and are not used here. Re-read Oct 19, 2026: the AI agents page is unchanged in substance (Jobsite AI still coming soon). Re-checked Oct 20, 2026: unchanged in substance (StyleSmith AI on Pro+ and Enterprise, with the buyer style quiz still in early access and enabled per account; Jobsite AI still coming soon); the menu also tags Punchlist AI as New and lists a CRM Migration Wizard, live in beta, that maps a Buildertrend or JobTread export, and the pricing page describes a built-in MCP server for Claude Desktop, Cursor and Windsurf alongside the REST API on Pro+. Re-checked Oct 22, 2026: unchanged in substance (StyleSmith AI on Pro+ and Enterprise with the buyer style quiz still in early access; Jobsite AI still Coming Soon; Punchlist AI tagged New; CRM Migration Wizard still Live in Beta; MCP server and REST API on Pro+). The menu now also lists a Jobsite Command Center with live QR check-ins, a vendor map and a real-time activity feed, and calls the AI line-up seven AI agents. The AI agents page tags Bid Import AI as Pro+ while the pricing page lists it from Pro. The pricing page's cost comparisons with other builder software are still vendor claims and are not used. The Pro+ card says Foreman AI runs on Claude Sonnet 4 (vendor statement). The homepage says 5 built-in AI agents while the menu says seven. The site's pages link an llms.txt and an ai-plugin file in their metadata (not followed). Cost comparisons with other builder software are still vendor claims and are not used.Construction management platform for established home builders, remodelers, specialty trades and commercial contractors whose work resembles high-end residential (its FAQ, read Oct 18, 2026). Modules on its pricing page cover scheduling, daily logs, tasks, time clock, change orders, selections, a sub portal and warranties; leads, proposals and email marketing; a client portal, file storage and messaging; and bids, bills and purchase orders, budgets, estimates, payments (US only), invoices and takeoff, with QuickBooks, Xero and Gusto integrations. Its AI page lists built-in AI for Client Updates (turns daily job inputs into client summaries), Bill Capture (extracts vendor details, line items and cost codes from bills, inside Bill Pay), Page Naming (organizes uploaded plan sets and slip-sheet revisions), Selections (pulls product data from a supplier URL) and Submittals (scans specifications and plan sets into an importable format); the FAQ also lists AI Search for natural-language questions. Buildertrend says its AI needs no separate ChatGPT, Claude or other AI subscription, and that its AI is built on the company's residential construction expertise and not on individual customer data. Vendor claims, not verified by us: 20,000+ active construction businesses, more than 1,000,000 users since 2006, over half of all new US home builds, and a 97% cut in time spent compiling client updates. Re-read Oct 19, 2026: the AI page lists the same five features and now says Buildertrend acquired BizJet AI, Inc., adding two AI leaders to build more AI into the product (vendor statement); the FAQ's current AI list names AI Client Updates, AI Bill Capture and AI Search and gives the user base as 80+ countries, while the pricing page says more than 100. Re-checked Oct 21, 2026 (pages rendered in a headless browser; plain requests returned 403): the AI page lists the same five features (Client Updates, Bill Capture, Page Naming, Selections, Submittals) and the BizJet AI acquisition. The pricing page now publishes a starting price (see Pricing), says one price covers the full platform with no tier to upgrade into, and lists QuickBooks, Sage, Xero and Gusto integrations. Re-checked Oct 23, 2026 (pages rendered in a headless browser): the AI page lists the same five features (Client Updates, Bill Capture, Page Naming, Selections, Submittals) and the BizJet AI acquisition; the pricing page still lists QuickBooks, Sage, Xero and Gusto integrations and setup, data migration, daily live trainings and phone, chat and email support. The 97% and builder-count figures are vendor claims and not used.

Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • Built-in AI (vendor pages): Cornerstone PM lists Foreman AI (a natural-language agent with 396+ skills; its Pro+ card says it runs on Claude Sonnet 4), StyleSmith AI (a whole-home selection set from the builder's own catalog), Blueprint AI (PDF plan to material takeoff), Bid Import AI, Punchlist AI, an MLS listing writer and an AI support agent, with Jobsite AI vendor-arrival detection marked Coming Soon; each AI feature has monthly usage limits by plan. Buildertrend's AI page lists Client Updates (daily job inputs into client summaries), Bill Capture (vendor details, line items and cost codes from bills), Page Naming (organizing plan sets and slip-sheet revisions), Selections (product data from a supplier URL) and Submittals (specifications and plan sets into an importable format), and says no separate AI subscription is needed.
  • Bring your own AI: Cornerstone PM's Pro+ plan includes a built-in MCP server for Claude Desktop, Cursor and Windsurf and a REST API with webhooks that exposes Foreman's skills; lower tiers do not include it. The Buildertrend pages we read do not describe an MCP server or a way to connect an outside AI assistant.
  • Design center and selections: Cornerstone PM lists room-by-room selections, spec levels, structural options with real-time pricing and per-room allowances from its Builder plan up. Buildertrend lists selections among its project modules, with its Selections AI pulling product data from supplier URLs.
  • Pricing (checked Oct 23, 2026): Cornerstone PM Starter $149, Builder $299, Pro $499 and Pro+ $599 a month by homes built per year (up to 30 users, 60 on Pro+), Enterprise $500 per division a month for the first 5 divisions then $450, a $149 Power User Seat add-on on Pro and Pro+, annual billing 2 months free, no implementation fee, and a free beta for the first 100 builders. Buildertrend starts at $499 a month for the full platform with unlimited users and no feature tiers, 10% off paid upfront annually; the final price depends on annual construction volume and onboarding package.
  • Maturity and switching: Cornerstone PM describes itself as in beta and lists a CRM Migration Wizard, Live in Beta, that maps a Buildertrend or JobTread export. Buildertrend describes an established customer base and its BizJet AI acquisition (vendor statements). Cornerstone's cost comparisons with Buildertrend and other builder software, and Buildertrend's builder counts and 97% client-update time figure, are vendor claims and are not used here.
