Veriforce vs TrustLayer
Two third-party risk tools that overlap on subcontractor insurance tracking but start from different places, so this is only partly like-for-like. Veriforce is a cross-industry contractor management and supply-chain risk network for prequalification, safety compliance, worker-level compliance and training. TrustLayer is a certificate-of-insurance (COI) tracking and third-party risk platform, with a free Starter plan for up to 50 vendors. Desk research from vendor sites read Oct 31, 2026; no winner.
In short: Veriforce (Contractor prequalification & supply-chain safety compliance; no public prices (quote / sales)) vs TrustLayer (COI tracking & third-party risk; free option; paid prices not listed). Facts last checked Nov 2, 2026. No winner declared; desk research from vendor sites.

| What it does | Cross-industry contractor management and supply-chain risk network (vendor wording) for prequalification, safety compliance, worker-level compliance and training. Hiring clients set requirements and contractors and suppliers join the Veriforce Network to get qualified and connected; construction is one of a dozen industries on its site, alongside oil and gas, utilities, chemicals, mining, manufacturing and others, so it is not construction-specific. Its contractor management page (Prequalify, Onboard, Control and Evaluate) lists prequalifying contractors against a company's requirements and accreditation standards such as SSIP, PAS 91, the Common Assessment Standard and ISO 45001; onboarding where its team verifies contractor documentation and delivers orientations and training; dashboards, incident visibility, worksite access and worker compliance requirements, and worksite documents such as policies, safety inspections and work audits; job performance ratings, vendor evaluations and aggregate supply-chain reporting; and a predictive safety tool that ranks contractors as standard, elevated or high-risk potential from leading indicators (vendor calls it the industry's first). Its subcontractor management page describes Subcontractor Scoring (you choose criteria such as safety rates and training, it calculates a weighted real-time score per subcontractor and alerts when a score drops below your threshold), predictive modeling it says uses machine learning and predictive analytics to flag elevated or high-risk subcontractors, expiry alerts for subcontractor insurance and certifications, and insurance verification. Its worksite management page describes pre-screening individual workers before site access, a red or green status on a digital ID, drug and alcohol testing, training and qualification checks, and a safety-culture survey based on the NOSACQ-50 framework. Other modules: learning management with instructor-led and on-demand training, Operator Qualification (OQ) for U.S. DOT-regulated pipeline work, expert services (auditing, verification, consulting), ESG, and the Veriforce HUB partner marketplace of insurance and safety discounts for network members. Contractor subscriptions include Compliance Pro, ComplyWorks, VeriSource and CHAS on the VeriforceONE platform. The contractor management page says Veriforce does not just rely on AI for work that needs human expertise; the pages we read describe machine-learning risk prediction, not generative AI. Integrations: a Sept 14, 2026 press release announces a Creditsafe integration that brings company financial-health data into Compliance Pro; there is a VeriforceOne mobile app for iOS and Android (search contractors, review compliance status, documents and dashboards) and process automation for client-specific compliance workflows; the contractor management page also lists custom configuration and integrations without naming systems. Veriforce announced on Oct 22, 2025 that it had acquired Highwire, the construction-focused prequalification and contractor risk vendor (see our Highwire listing). Network counters vary across its own pages, and those counters, NPS and incident-reduction figures are vendor claims we do not use. | Third-party risk management and certificate-of-insurance tracking platform that the vendor describes as powered by AI. Vendor says it reads each COI, checks it against your requirements and industry benchmarks, and flags gaps in coverage. Also lists vendor onboarding, automated reminder emails and error flags, no sign-in required for vendors (vendors and brokers join free), access for brokers, instant linking for project managers, collection of W-9s and contracts alongside COIs, and data preparation for litigation. Pitched to risk managers, finance teams (confirm vendors are compliant before paying), executives, coordinators, brokers and carriers. An Oct 21, 2026 announcement previews a compliance panel inside Procore that shows a subcontractor's TrustLayer compliance status and the insurance documents behind it on a Procore commitment; it builds on the existing Procore sync, is in early access for a limited group of Procore customers, and was demoed at Groundbreak 2026 (vendor announcement). Placeholder (lorem ipsum) text has appeared in one homepage section in reads since Oct 22, 2026. Network and COI-volume figures and customer quotes are vendor content and are not used. |
| Who it's for | Hiring clients (safety, operations and procurement teams at owners and operators in high-hazard industries, including construction) and the contractors, subcontractors and suppliers who must meet their requirements; prime contractors can also bring their own subcontractors into Veriforce (vendor wording). | Risk managers, compliance coordinators and finance teams at contractors, homebuilders and real estate developers; insurance brokers and carriers. |
| Pricing (as publicly stated) | Not publicly listed: veriforce.com/pricing returns a not-found page and the site offers Talk to Sales. The contractors page says contractor subscriptions vary by region of work and the hiring clients you want to work with, and subscription prices are tiered by number of employees; it lists Compliance Pro (U.S. contractor management), ComplyWorks (global), VeriSource (U.S. DOT Operator Qualification) and CHAS (U.K. risk management and compliance) subscriptions with Subscribe buttons but no dollar figures. Its contractor subscription terms (the legal agreement) say that, unless an order says otherwise, fees are set per calendar year, invoiced annually in advance (due by January 31), not prorated for partial years and non-refundable; they also describe a Pay-As-You-Go option billed monthly in arrears by the number of qualified individuals using the services and a tiered DOT bundle fee, which relate to its Operator Qualification services. Hiring-client pricing is not published. Confirm current pricing with the vendor. | Plans page (linked in the site footer): Starter is free up to 50 vendors, with expirations and renewals, messaging and collaboration, basic reporting, custom data and AI document collection and classification. Pro (0-1500+ vendors; adds BI reporting, Procore, CMiC and Vista Viewpoint integrations, white-glove onboarding, AI Smart Requirements and W-9 extraction) and Complete (adds unlimited users, real-time support, custom integrations, up to 7 custom BI reports and a dedicated account manager) go through a demo, with no paid prices listed; TrustLayer Plus is an optional add-on to both. trustlayer.io/pricing returns 404. The homepage says vendors, brokers and project managers can collaborate on the platform at no cost to them. |

Where the vendor descriptions differ
- Not like-for-like: Veriforce covers prequalification, safety programs, worker access, training and operator qualification across high-hazard industries, with construction one of many. TrustLayer is built around keeping vendors' insurance and compliance documents (COIs, W-9s, contracts) current.
- Insurance (vendor statements): Veriforce's subcontractor management page lists insurance verification, digital document upload for subcontractors and automatic email alerts when subcontractor insurance or certifications are about to expire. TrustLayer says it reads each COI, checks it against your standards and flags gaps in coverage, with automated reminders, no sign-in required for vendors and access for brokers.
- Prequalification and safety (vendor statements): Veriforce's subcontractor page describes Subcontractor Scoring (weighted scores from criteria you choose) and predictive modeling it says uses machine learning and predictive analytics to flag elevated or high-risk subcontractors; its worksite management page describes pre-screening workers before site access. The TrustLayer pages we read do not describe safety or financial prequalification.
- Network: Veriforce runs a contractor network that contractors join by subscription to get qualified for hiring clients. TrustLayer says vendors, brokers and project managers can collaborate on the platform at no cost to them.
- Integrations (vendor statements): TrustLayer's Pro plan lists Procore, CMiC and Vista Viewpoint integrations. Veriforce's contractor management page lists custom configuration and integrations without naming systems.
- AI (vendor descriptions): Veriforce describes machine-learning risk prediction, not generative AI. TrustLayer's plans list AI document collection and classification (Starter) and AI Smart Requirements and W-9 extraction (Pro). Both are tagged AI features added to an established product.
- Ownership: Veriforce announced on Oct 22, 2025 that it had acquired Highwire, a construction-focused prequalification vendor; see our Highwire listing and the TrustLayer vs Highwire compare.
- Pricing (checked Oct 31, 2026): TrustLayer's Starter plan is free up to 50 vendors; Pro and Complete go through a demo with no paid prices listed. Veriforce publishes no figures: its /pricing page returns not found, and contractor subscriptions vary by region of work and hiring clients and are tiered by number of employees. See each tool page for detail.
- Not used here: Veriforce's network counters and TrustLayer's network and COI-volume figures, plus customer and G2 quotes and logos on both sites (vendor content). TrustLayer's homepage still showed placeholder (lorem ipsum) text in this read. Facts for both tools come from vendor websites (desk research).

Good or bad, an honest review from an estimator, PM or super helps the next team more than another vendor demo. You post under a handle; your email is never shown.
Questions to ask in your review
- Whether your owners or hiring clients already require you to be in a prequalification network, or whether you mainly need to collect and check your own subs' COIs
- Whether you need worker-level access, training and safety scoring, or insurance and document compliance tied to your ERP or Procore
- What either costs past TrustLayer's free 50-vendor tier, for your vendor count, workforce or regions
- What did you use it for, on what kind of work and project size?
- How long did setup and training take, and who on your team did it?
- What does it cost you in practice, compared with what the sales call said?
