Raken vs Rhumbix

Two field-first apps that replace paper daily reports and timecards. Raken is an all-in-one field app for daily progress reports, time and production tracking, safety and quality and, more recently, RFIs and submittals, with public per-user prices. Rhumbix is a field workforce management platform built around payroll-ready timekeeping, time and materials tracking and daily reports generated from timecards, and Autodesk has signed an agreement to acquire it. What it doesField-first web and mobile app for daily progress reports, time and production tracking, materials and equipment, safety, RFIs, forms and documents. Daily reports collect notes, photos, and videos that sync in real time and generate a shareable PDF daily report; the app also covers material and equipment tracking, safety and quality checklists, observations, toolbox talks, incidents with OSHA submit, RFIs, digital forms, and document storage. The homepage and pricing pages we re-checked Oct 16 and Oct 19, 2026 still do not describe AI features, so we keep the Not AI-first tag. The Oct 19 navigation also lists resource scheduling, certifications and labor map, project management and RFIs. Re-checked Oct 21, 2026: the homepage and pricing page still do not describe AI features (Not AI-first tag kept); the plan comparison still lists resource scheduling, time tracking with geofencing, kiosk mode, certifications and labor map, incidents with OSHA submit, RFIs, digital forms and document storage. App-store rating figures on the homepage are not used here. Re-checked Oct 22, 2026 (homepage and rendered pricing page): still no AI features described (Not AI-first tag kept); the navigation now lists submittals under project management and a Who We Serve menu that includes heavy civil. Re-read Oct 23, 2026 for a compare: homepage and rendered pricing page still do not describe AI features (Not AI-first tag kept); daily reports still collect notes, photos and videos into a shareable PDF report, and the navigation still lists submittals (marked new) and heavy civil. Re-checked Oct 24, 2026: homepage and navigation unchanged (daily reports, time, production, safety and quality, RFIs, submittals marked New, heavy civil listed); still no AI described, so Not AI-first stays. Re-checked Oct 25, 2026: homepage and navigation unchanged (daily reports, time, production, safety and quality, submittals marked New, heavy civil listed); still no AI described, so Not AI-first stays. Re-checked Oct 26, 2026: homepage unchanged in substance (field management web and mobile app: daily progress reporting with shareable PDF daily reports, time and production tracking, safety and quality checklists, observations and toolbox talks, document management; the platform menu still marks Project Management and Submittals as new); still no AI described, so the tag stays. App-store ratings and customer quotes are vendor content and not used.Field-first workforce management platform for trade contractors, self-perform divisions and GCs, covering timecards, production, T&M and dailies. It lists payroll-ready timecards, cost-coded production tracking against budget, time & materials (out-of-scope work) tracking from submission to approval, and daily field reports that bring daily and weekly reports into one tool, with configurable workflows and analytics. The vendor says many field forms can be trained and deployed in as little as 2 weeks and cites RG Construction saving over 200 work hours each week (vendor claims). The homepage we read Oct 16, 2026 does not describe AI features. Autodesk said on March 31, 2026 that it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire Rhumbix. Re-read Oct 19, 2026: the homepage still shows the Autodesk acquisition banner and adds a case-study headline about a specialty drywall contractor saving up to 20 hours a week on timekeeping (vendor claim); it still does not describe AI features. Re-checked Oct 20, 2026: the homepage still shows the Autodesk acquisition banner and still does not describe AI features; its navigation now lists change order tracking, health and safety reporting and a no-code Data Explorer alongside timekeeping, production, T&M and daily reports. Re-checked Oct 22, 2026: the homepage still shows the Autodesk acquisition banner and still does not describe AI. Its Packages page (read Oct 22, 2026) lists Essential (Timekeeping or Time & Materials), Plus (adding daily construction reporting, labor compliance reporting and up to 10 active customer forms) and Advanced (enterprise workflows, controls and support); features include guest-mode external approvals of T&M tickets by email or text, digital signatures, offline mode, Field Analytix, a T&M dashboard marked Coming Soon, API access and single sign-on on higher tiers, and a SOC 2 Type 2 attestation. The over 1,000,000 projects line and customer savings figures are vendor claims and are not used. Re-checked Oct 24, 2026: the homepage still shows the Autodesk acquisition banner and still does not describe AI. The Packages page has moved to rhumbix.com/pricing (the old /packages address now returns 404). It still lists Essential (Timekeeping or Time & Materials), Plus and Advanced; its plan table shows a Compliance Reporting Bundle (daily construction reports, toolbox talks, job hazard analysis and pre-task planning), active customer forms capped by plan (up to 3 or up to 10), some items such as Data Explorer and single sign-on as add-ons on some plans, and the T&M dashboard still marked Coming Soon. The page states SOC 2 Type 2 with encryption in transit and at rest, and says a dedicated field operations manager runs implementation. The over 1,000,000 projects line and case-study savings figures are vendor claims and not used. Re-checked Oct 26, 2026: the homepage still shows the Autodesk acquisition banner and still does not describe AI; the pricing page is unchanged in substance (Essential, Plus and Advanced; Compliance Reporting Bundle; T&M dashboard still marked Coming Soon; SOC 2 Type 2). Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • What each sells (vendor wording): Raken calls itself construction management software for the field: collect notes, photos and videos on mobile that sync to the web app and generate a shareable PDF daily report, track hours, materials and equipment, and run checklists, observations, incidents and toolbox talks. Rhumbix calls itself a field-first workforce management platform giving trade contractors and GCs real-time visibility into labor and job costs, with timekeeping, time and materials, health and safety reporting and Field Analytix.
  • Where each starts: Raken starts from the daily report and builds out to time, production, safety and documents. Rhumbix starts from the timecard: crew or individual time entry for payroll and job-cost accounting, then reuses that data to autogenerate daily construction reports and T&M tickets.
  • Time and materials and change work: Rhumbix lists T&M work tracking from submission to approval for invoicing and payment, and change-order tracking of unplanned field work. Raken's pages we read do not describe a T&M ticket workflow.
  • Wider scope: Raken's platform menu lists RFIs, submittals and document management, plus resource scheduling and certifications. Rhumbix lists custom forms and workflows, a no-code Data Explorer for reports and dashboards, and SOC 2 Type 2 (vendor statement).
  • Ownership: Rhumbix's site carries a banner saying Autodesk has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Rhumbix. Ask how that affects roadmap, integrations and contract terms.
  • AI: neither vendor describes AI features on the pages we read, so both are tagged Not AI-first.
  • Pricing (checked Oct 26, 2026): Raken publishes per-user prices billed annually with a 3-user minimum: Basic $23 per user per month ($69 a month at 3 users) and Performance $59 per user per month ($177 at 3 users), which adds time and production tracking, safety and quality and RFIs, forms and document storage. Rhumbix lists Essential, Plus and Advanced packages, each Contact Us, with no prices.
  • Not used here: Raken's app-store ratings and customer quote, Rhumbix's project count, hours-saved case studies and ROI calculator (vendor content).

Questions to ask in your review

  • Whether your crews' time entry, cost codes and payroll export fit either tool's timecard workflow

  • What you actually pay, and on what basis (neither publishes full prices)
  • What did you use it for, on what kind of work and project size?

  • What does it cost you in practice, compared with what the sales call said?
