Riskcast vs Rhumbix
Two field data tools for self-perform crews that overlap heavily. Riskcast is time, production and forecasting software for self-perform contractors, capturing time, quantities, T&M, JHAs and dailies on one screen synced to the ERP. Rhumbix is a field and workforce management platform for timekeeping, production tracking, T&M and change orders, and daily reports, and Autodesk has signed a definitive agreement to acquire it. Neither describes AI features. Desk research from vendor pages read Oct 27, 2026; not tested, no winner.
In short: Riskcast (Field time, production & forecasting; no public prices (quote / sales)) vs Rhumbix (Field timekeeping, production & daily reports; no public prices (quote / sales)). Facts last checked Oct 27, 2026. No winner declared; not tested.

| What it does | Field software for self-perform contractors that captures time, production quantities, T&M, JHAs and dailies on one screen, synced to the ERP. It also lists equipment tracking, worker certification, and job-cost forecasting. Customers cited include Posillico (which the vendor quotes as leaving HeavyJob for Riskcast) and E-J Electric. The homepage does not describe AI features (re-read Oct 16, 2026; Posillico quote and one-screen time/production/T&M/safety/dailies positioning unchanged). Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: the homepage now also features a Branch case study (heavy civil, Roanoke, VA) alongside Posillico, lists integrations with Autodesk, CMiC, eCMS, Procore, Sage and Viewpoint, and lists attendance, dispatching and job hazard analysis among its products. It still describes no AI, so the Not AI-first tag stays. Re-checked Oct 20, 2026: unchanged in substance (Posillico and Branch case studies, the E-J Electric partner story, integrations with Autodesk, CMiC, eCMS, Procore, Sage and Viewpoint; still no AI described). Re-checked Oct 22, 2026: unchanged in substance (the homepage now leads with Construction Time, Production & Forecasting Software; Posillico and Branch case studies and the E-J Electric partner story; products from attendance and time entry to jobcost forecasting, dispatching and JHAs; Autodesk, CMiC, eCMS, Procore, Sage and Viewpoint integrations; still no AI described, so the Not AI-first tag stays). Re-checked Oct 23, 2026: unchanged in substance (Construction Time, Production & Forecasting Software for self-perform contractors; products from attendance and time entry to jobcost forecasting, dispatching and JHAs; Autodesk, CMiC, eCMS, Procore, Sage and Viewpoint integrations; still no AI described, so the Not AI-first tag stays). Customer quotes are not used. Re-checked Oct 25, 2026: unchanged in substance (Construction Time, Production & Forecasting Software for self-perform contractors; jobcost forecasting among the tools; Autodesk, CMiC, eCMS, Procore, Sage and Viewpoint integrations; still no AI described, so the Not AI-first tag stays). Customer quotes are not used. Re-checked Oct 27, 2026: homepage unchanged in substance (Construction Time, Production & Forecasting Software for self-perform contractors; Posillico and Branch case studies and the E-J Electric partner story; Autodesk, CMiC, eCMS, Procore, Sage and Viewpoint integrations; still no AI described, so the Not AI-first tag stays). Customer quotes are not used. | Field-first workforce management platform for trade contractors, self-perform divisions and GCs, covering timecards, production, T&M and dailies. It lists payroll-ready timecards, cost-coded production tracking against budget, time & materials (out-of-scope work) tracking from submission to approval, and daily field reports that bring daily and weekly reports into one tool, with configurable workflows and analytics. The vendor says many field forms can be trained and deployed in as little as 2 weeks and cites RG Construction saving over 200 work hours each week (vendor claims). The homepage we read Oct 16, 2026 does not describe AI features. Autodesk said on March 31, 2026 that it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire Rhumbix. Re-read Oct 19, 2026: the homepage still shows the Autodesk acquisition banner and adds a case-study headline about a specialty drywall contractor saving up to 20 hours a week on timekeeping (vendor claim); it still does not describe AI features. Re-checked Oct 20, 2026: the homepage still shows the Autodesk acquisition banner and still does not describe AI features; its navigation now lists change order tracking, health and safety reporting and a no-code Data Explorer alongside timekeeping, production, T&M and daily reports. Re-checked Oct 22, 2026: the homepage still shows the Autodesk acquisition banner and still does not describe AI. Its Packages page (read Oct 22, 2026) lists Essential (Timekeeping or Time & Materials), Plus (adding daily construction reporting, labor compliance reporting and up to 10 active customer forms) and Advanced (enterprise workflows, controls and support); features include guest-mode external approvals of T&M tickets by email or text, digital signatures, offline mode, Field Analytix, a T&M dashboard marked Coming Soon, API access and single sign-on on higher tiers, and a SOC 2 Type 2 attestation. The over 1,000,000 projects line and customer savings figures are vendor claims and are not used. Re-checked Oct 24, 2026: the homepage still shows the Autodesk acquisition banner and still does not describe AI. The Packages page has moved to rhumbix.com/pricing (the old /packages address now returns 404). It still lists Essential (Timekeeping or Time & Materials), Plus and Advanced; its plan table shows a Compliance Reporting Bundle (daily construction reports, toolbox talks, job hazard analysis and pre-task planning), active customer forms capped by plan (up to 3 or up to 10), some items such as Data Explorer and single sign-on as add-ons on some plans, and the T&M dashboard still marked Coming Soon. The page states SOC 2 Type 2 with encryption in transit and at rest, and says a dedicated field operations manager runs implementation. The over 1,000,000 projects line and case-study savings figures are vendor claims and not used. Re-checked Oct 26, 2026: the homepage still shows the Autodesk acquisition banner and still does not describe AI; the pricing page is unchanged in substance (Essential, Plus and Advanced; Compliance Reporting Bundle; T&M dashboard still marked Coming Soon; SOC 2 Type 2). The projects figure and case-study savings are still not used. Re-read Oct 27, 2026 for a compare: homepage and packages page unchanged in substance (Autodesk acquisition banner; time and attendance, production tracking, change orders, T&M, daily reports, custom forms, Field Analytix and Data Explorer; Essential, Plus and Advanced packages with Contact Us; SOC 2 Type 2; T&M dashboard still Coming Soon; still no AI described). |

Where the vendor descriptions differ
- What each sells (vendor wording): Riskcast lists attendance, time entry, production tracking, equipment tracking, time and material, worker certification, jobcost forecasting, dispatching and job hazard analysis. Rhumbix lists time and attendance (crew or individual entry), production tracking of installed quantities and labor productivity, change orders, T&M work tracking, daily reports built from timecards, custom forms and workflows, Field Analytix and a no-code Data Explorer report builder.
- Where they differ on paper: Riskcast leads with job-cost forecasting for labor and equipment, saying ERPs aren't built for it, and lists dispatching and worker certification. Rhumbix leads with T&M and change-order tracking, and its packages page lists external approval of T&M tickets and a T&M dashboard still marked Coming Soon.
- Who they name: Riskcast's case studies are heavy civil contractors (Posillico and Branch) plus a partner story with union electrical contractor E-J Electric. Rhumbix lists trade contractors, self-performing GCs, GCs, owners and the public sector, with specialty pages from electrical and mechanical to heavy civil, drilling and pipeline.
- Systems: Riskcast lists integrations with Autodesk, CMiC, eCMS, Procore, Sage and Viewpoint. Rhumbix's homepage still carries the banner that Autodesk has signed a definitive agreement to acquire it (announced March 31, 2026); what that means for its other integrations is not stated on the pages we read. Rhumbix's packages page says it is SOC 2 Type 2 compliant.
- AI: neither vendor's pages describe AI features, so both carry the Not AI-first tag here. They are included because they collect the field time and quantity data that forecasting and AI tools depend on.
- Pricing (checked Oct 27, 2026): neither publishes prices. Riskcast routes to Book a Demo. Rhumbix's packages page lists Essential (Timekeeping, or Time & Materials), Plus and Advanced, each with Contact Us. See each tool page for detail.
- Not used here: Riskcast's customer quotes and Rhumbix's hours-saved and project-count figures (vendor content).

Questions to ask in your review
- Whether you need labor and equipment forecasting built in, or mainly timecards, T&M tickets and change orders
- How the pending Autodesk acquisition will change Rhumbix's roadmap, packaging or integrations
- What either costs for your crew count; both quote after a conversation
- What did you use it for, on what kind of work and project size?
- How long did setup and training take, and who on your team did it?
- What does it cost you in practice, compared with what the sales call said?
