What it doesPassive 360° site walks turned into AI visual progress tracking and forecasts by project, area, unit and activity. Re-checked Oct 19, 2026: the homepage says the AI progress updates can support pay apps and hand-off decisions and that forecasts are based on weeks of progress data; a Willmott Dixon case study describes documenting fire safety assets on a high-rise cladding refurbishment in north London. Re-checked Oct 20, 2026: unchanged in substance (360° capture through passive walks, AI progress updates for pay apps and hand-offs, forecasts from weeks of progress data; case studies with Willmott Dixon, Meldrum Group, HB Reavis on Varso Tower and Lovell with Symetri). Re-read Oct 22, 2026 for a compare: homepage, Why Oculo, Reality Capture, Project Intelligence and FAQ pages read. Passive 360° walkthroughs are mapped to floor plans and organised over time; AI analyses each walkthrough for progress across floors, units and trades and highlights coordination issues and slowdowns, aimed at multi-unit construction teams. The FAQ says BIM is not required (floor plans and/or a 3D model are needed for processing, with side-by-side BIM comparison available), capture works without Wi-Fi or GPS including basements and tunnels, supported cameras are Insta360 (X5 recommended) and Ricoh models, cameras can be hired for one-off scans or demos, faces are blurred, and there is no limit on users per project. The site names Autodesk, Procore and Fieldview integrations for creating issues. Re-checked Oct 28, 2026: the FAQ now lists Insta360 X6, X5, X4, X3, X2 and One RS 1-Inch plus Ricoh models, with the X6 as the recommended camera. Customer quotes and case-study outcomes are vendor material and not used.Camera platform combining fixed cameras, drone flights and 360° walkthroughs with a visual timeline and BIM vs as-built comparison. AI features listed: Safety Observations, Smart Search and Automated Gate Reports. Its FAQ (checked Oct 19, 2026) says installation is typically completed within hours once power and connectivity are available, and that it is ISO 27001 certified and SOC 2 compliant. Re-checked Oct 21, 2026: unchanged in substance (fixed cameras, drone flights and 360 walkthroughs, BIM vs as-built comparison, Safety Observations, Smart Search and Automated Gate Reports). Re-read Oct 23, 2026 for a compare: the AI Platform Suite page lists Ask AI (questions answered from project data and visual records), Smart Search (search footage by vehicle, plant, crew or frame area, including software-only use on existing site cameras, with PDF/CSV export), Progress Automations (AI summary of visible change between two dates, emailed on a schedule) and 360 object detection; the connectors page lists Procore, Autodesk, Voyage Control, Aconex, Bentley iTwin and HammerTech. Re-checked Oct 26, 2026: homepage unchanged in substance (Reality Driven Intelligence Platform with fixed, drone and 360 capture and AI-powered site intelligence); the Who We Serve menu lists Mission Critical, Oil & Gas, Mining, Battery Storage (BESS), Water Utilities and Energy Transmission alongside owners and contractors.

Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • Capture: Oculo's pages describe switching on a 360° camera during a routine site walk; footage is geolocated to site drawings and builds a continuous 360° visual history. Its FAQ says scanning works without Wi-Fi, GPS or reception (including basements and tunnels), with upload afterwards, and calls scans as-live records rather than real-time surveillance such as CCTV or fixed timelapse cameras. Evercam's homepage combines fixed cameras, drone flights and 360° walkthroughs; its 360 page describes scheduled scanning sessions, uploads through the Capture app or dashboard, processing within 24 hours, drawing alignment, point-to-point measurements and mark-up.
  • AI: Oculo describes AI-assessed visual progress updates from site scans, by floor, unit and trade, that it says support pay apps and hand-off decisions, plus forecasts of what is likely to happen by project, area, unit and activity based on weeks of progress data. Evercam's AI Platform Suite page lists Ask AI (questions answered from project data and visual records), Smart Search (search camera footage by vehicle, plant, crew or frame area, including on existing site cameras), Progress Report Automation (summary of visible change between two periods, emailed on a schedule) and object detection inside 360 walkthroughs.
  • BIM and plans: Oculo's FAQ says BIM is not required; floor plans and/or a 3D model are needed to process footage, and side-by-side as-built vs BIM comparison is available. Evercam lists BIM Compare in its 360 viewer and a 4D View of the BIM model with live site video on its connectors page.
  • Cameras and privacy: Oculo's FAQ lists supported Insta360 and Ricoh models, now recommends the Insta360 X6, hires cameras for one-off scans or demos, blurs faces and sets no limit on users per project. Evercam's 360 page lists supported Insta360 (X6 featured) and Ricoh Theta Z1 cameras; its fixed cameras and security kits are part of its own hardware and installation.
  • Integrations: Evercam's connectors page names Procore, Autodesk, Voyage Control (Gate Report check-ins against delivery bookings) and HammerTech (observations), with a 4D BIM view. Oculo's pages read today do not list integrations; see its tool page for earlier reads.
  • Pricing (checked Oct 28, 2026): Oculo publishes no prices; the routes are Book a demo and Contact Us. Evercam's pricing calculator lists construction cameras on SiteCommand Essential at $395 and Pro at $595 per camera/month, 360 Walkthrough at $5 per 1,000 sq ft/month ($300 minimum) and Drone View from $249/month, calling results a preliminary estimate. See each tool page for detail.
  • Partly like-for-like: both offer 360° walkthroughs with plan alignment and BIM comparison, but Oculo is built around walk-based progress tracking and forecasting, while Evercam is built around fixed cameras and site monitoring with 360° and drone capture as added modes.
  • Not used here: Oculo's case-study outcomes and customer quotes, and Evercam's case studies (vendor material). Neither tool has been tested by Means & Methods Lab.
