Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • Not like-for-like: both capture crew time by job and cost code, but Riskcast also captures production quantities, T&M, JHAs and dailies and forecasts job cost, aimed at self-perform foremen. Workyard centers on GPS-verified time, compliance and labor-cost reporting for trade, restoration, service and GC crews. Time capture feeding payroll and job cost is where they overlap.
  • Time capture: Riskcast lists attendance, time entry, worker certification and dispatching. Workyard lists GPS time tracking with time-clock rules and auto clock-in, overtime and break compliance with a GPS audit trail, project and cost-code time on every time card, a live crew map and mileage allocation.
  • Beyond time: Riskcast lists production tracking, equipment tracking, time and material, job hazard analysis and jobcost forecasting. Workyard lists live job-cost reporting by employee and cost code, project expenses tagged to cost codes, scheduling with notes and checklists, and mobile forms.
  • Integrations: Riskcast names Autodesk, CMiC, eCMS, Procore, Sage and Viewpoint. Workyard imports and syncs jobs and cost codes from accounting systems, naming Sage, NetSuite, ComputerEase and Foundation on its pricing page, and offers a developer API.
  • AI: Workyard's Autopilot plan lists AI Time Keeping: a Time assistant (marked New) that the vendor says finds and fixes a pay period of timecards, with changes reviewed by admins before payroll, and a Project Time Tracking Agent that detects work-site visits and allocates time to projects. Riskcast's pages we read describe no AI. AI tag: Workyard is tagged AI features added to an established product; Riskcast is tagged Not AI-first.
  • Pricing (checked Oct 29, 2026): Workyard says plans start at $6 per user/month billed annually, with monthly billing available, across Starter, Pro, Autopilot and Enterprise (contact sales); per-plan prices above the starting figure were not shown in the page text. Riskcast publishes no prices; its pricing link goes to a find-out-more page with Schedule a Demo. See each tool page for detail.
  • Not used here: Riskcast's customer quotes and case-study headcounts, and Workyard's worker and contractor counts and customer quotes (vendor material). Neither tool has been tested by Means & Methods Lab.
