Visibuild vs Fieldwire

Two field apps that both handle inspections and punch lists, with different centres. Visibuild is a construction quality platform built around inspection test plans, hold and witness points, punch lists, handover packs and post-completion defects, with no public prices. Fieldwire, from Hilti, is a broader jobsite management app for plans, tasks, punch lists, inspections, forms and scheduling, with per-user prices and AI features in beta. Not like-for-like (our reading): a QA and handover record versus a general field-management tool that includes QA. Desk research from vendor sites read Oct 31, 2026; no winner.

What it doesConstruction quality-management platform for inspections, ITPs, NCRs, punch lists, handover packs and defect liability workflows. The homepage frames it in four stages: pre-construction (risk registers, ITP and ITC templates mapped to hold and witness points, milestones built once and pushed to every project), construction, project completion and maintenance and warranty. Homepage and punch-list pages describe mobile capture with photos and locations (online or offline), multi-reviewer sign-off, lot/zone closeout with punch items linked to inspections, lots, levels or zones, revision control that updates linked inspections when drawings change, commissioning, suppliers logging factory checks on precast or switchgear before delivery, a handover pack that builds from signed inspections and certificates as work happens, and post-completion defects linked back to the original inspection. The site also announces a Document Management feature, and lists data centres, healthcare, residential, commercial and infrastructure. The pages read do not describe AI, so it is tagged Not AI-first. Customer quotes and defect-cost figures are vendor material and are not used.Jobsite management app from Hilti Construction Software for plan viewing, tasks, punch lists, inspections, forms and scheduling. Plan viewing includes versioning and auto-hyperlinking; markups and as-builts work offline; digitized forms cover daily reports, timesheets, inspection requests and RFIs; it also produces PDF reports. Higher plans add sheet compare, BIM viewer, 360° photos, specifications, submittals, change orders and budget. Field Intelligence™ (fieldwire.com/ai) describes AI search over plans, tasks, photos and forms, voice-driven task creation and updates, AI-powered RFI editing, talk-to-action structured reports and converting form issues into tasks; its buttons read Sign up for beta, so treat these features as beta. The page says customer data is not used to train AI without explicit permission. Tagged AI features added based on the Field Intelligence page. Jobsite and project counts, customer stories and app-store review counts are vendor content and are not used.

Where the vendor descriptions differ

  • Scope: Visibuild describes four stages: pre-construction (risk registers, ITP and ITC templates mapped to hold and witness points), construction, project completion and maintenance and warranty. Fieldwire covers plan viewing with versioning and hyperlinking, task management, scheduling, punch lists, inspections, forms, specifications and reports, with RFIs, submittals, change orders and budget on its top plan (vendor statements).
  • Punch lists: Visibuild's punch-list page describes capturing items on mobile with photos, plan locations and notes, assigning each to the responsible party with a due date, contractors submitting fixes for approval, sign-off, and filtering by contractor, area or item type for handover reports; items link back to inspections and to lots, levels or zones. Fieldwire handles punch items as tasks on the plan, with custom statuses from Pro and custom fields and forms from Business (vendor statements).
  • Handover and after: Visibuild builds a handover pack from signed inspections and certificates as work happens and carries defects into the defect liability period, linked to the original inspection. Fieldwire's pages describe PDF reports and as-built drawings but not a defect liability workflow (vendor statements).
  • AI (our reading): Visibuild's pages describe no AI, so we tag it Not AI-first. Fieldwire's Field Intelligence page lists AI search over plans, tasks, photos and forms, voice-driven task creation, AI-powered RFI editing and talk-to-action reports behind Sign up for beta buttons, and says customer data is not used to train AI without explicit permission; we tag it AI features added.
  • Pricing (checked Oct 31, 2026): Visibuild publishes no prices (Book a Demo). Fieldwire lists Basic $0 for 5 users and 3 projects, Pro $39, Business $64 and Business Plus $89 per user/month billed annually, and custom contracts for unlimited users, API access and SSO. A per-user price and a quote are not directly comparable.
  • Not used here: Visibuild's customer quotes and defect-cost figures, and Fieldwire's project counts and ROI calculator savings (vendor claims). Facts for both tools come from vendor websites (desk research).

Good or bad, an honest review from an estimator, PM or super helps the next team more than another vendor demo. You post under a handle; your email is never shown.

Questions to ask in your review

  • Whether Fieldwire's inspection forms can enforce hold and witness points the way an ITP-led tool does
  • What Visibuild costs for one project or a portfolio
  • Whether trade partners need a paid seat to close punch items in either
  • What did you use it for, on what kind of work and project size?
  • How long did setup and training take, and who on your team did it?
  • What does it cost you in practice, compared with what the sales call said?
