Raken vs Contractor Foreman

Two contractor apps that both keep daily logs, built around different centers. Raken is a field-first daily reporting and field management app, with time tracking, safety, RFIs, submittals and newly listed change orders, priced per user. Contractor Foreman is an all-in-one contractor PM suite whose daily logs sit next to scheduling, client portal, service tickets and progress invoicing, priced by plan with user caps. Partly like-for-like: both cover daily logs and crew records, but Raken goes deeper on field reporting and Contractor Foreman wider on office PM and billing. Desk research from vendor sites read Nov 2, 2026; no winner.

What it doesField-first web and mobile app for daily progress reports, time and production tracking, materials and equipment, safety, RFIs, submittals, change orders, forms and documents. Daily reports collect notes, photos, videos and voice-to-text entries that sync in real time into a shareable, branded PDF report with the day's weather; the Daily Reports page also lists collaborator reports that give subcontractors free access to file their own dailies, and reports segmented by supervisor, shift or location. The Time Tracking page lists time cards, a mobile time clock and kiosk mode, geofencing and GPS, custom payroll policies, unlimited cost codes and AI photo ID for flagging attempted time fraud. The app also covers resource scheduling, certifications and a labor map, material and equipment tracking, safety and quality checklists, observations, toolbox talks, incidents with OSHA submit, RFIs, digital forms and document storage. The navigation marks Change Orders, Resource Scheduling and API & MCP as new: the Change Orders page describes change orders with cost items linked to RFIs and submittals, a no-login guest mode where respondents approve, partially approve or reject, and a ball-in-court log; the API & MCP page describes a client-facing API and Raken MCP for connecting field data to AI agents such as Claude and ChatGPT. Heavy civil is listed under Who We Serve. Tagged AI features added to an established product on the strength of AI photo ID and the MCP connection; the homepage itself does not lead with AI, and the Daily Reports page no longer lists AI report summaries. App-store ratings and customer quotes are not used.All-in-one construction management software for contractors, with daily logs that track crews, weather, deliveries and equipment. The Daily Logs feature records subs, visitors and crews on site, automatic daily weather with notes, material deliveries and usage and equipment activity, and updates related purchase orders when materials are marked delivered; photos and files added to a log are auto-filed to the project folder; custom fields and multiple templates control what is shared with clients or owners; logs stay with the project as a permanent history. Other modules include client portal, inspections, permits, punch lists, scheduling (Gantt, critical path, baselines), service tickets, work orders, to-dos, time cards that flow to payroll, and AIA-style G702/G703 progress invoicing with retainage tracking. The plans page lists a Takeoffs module where you upload plans, measure and "have a conversation with the built-in AI", with quantities connected to the estimate, and an AI Estimator marked Preview on the Pro and Unlimited plans, so it is tagged AI features added; however, the Takeoffs feature page FAQ says Takeoffs are currently in development, with sign-up for launch updates, so confirm availability with the vendor. Daily logs are described without AI. Integrations listed are QuickBooks Online, Zapier and Xero, which the FAQ says is coming Q4 2026 and the menu says is coming December 2026. The page's most-affordable claim and savings amounts are vendor wording and are not used.
